  • At 7'7-1/2" he is the UK's tallest British-born man. He won a basketball scholarship to the US, first playing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He was playing for the Ciudad Real club in Spain but returned to his home city of Durham while pursuing a career in show business.
  • On the Guinness World Records website, he said in 2006, "I am one of three siblings--my sister who is 6'3" is the eldest at 30, my brother is 6'8" who is 29 and I am 7'7" at 26. My mother is 6 feet tall and my father was also. My great-grandfather was 6'8:. I have always been taller than everyone since I can remember. My height really took off when I reached 11 and was touching 7 feet. By the time I was 16 I was 7'5" and stopped growing at 18 when I was 7'7.56".
