The CBS procedural has already been renewed for a third season which will certainly look to unpack what the newly unraveled Shaw family secret means for Colter and his siblings. Now, we know when production begins on the new season. Shworunner Elwood Reid, in a conversation with Screen Rant, has revealed that production on Tracker Season 3 will kick off later this year, in July.

"Yeah, we will be back in two weeks," Reid said, referencing the return of the show's writers' room, "and we start filming in July. I think it's the 16th or something like that.

Tracker first premiered following the Super Bowl, and the action drama has captivated viewers since. Doing a complete 180 from his role as Kevin Pearson in This is Us, Justin Hartley’s character Colter Shaw is a fierce, loner survivalist who travels the country finding missing persons and solving cases for reward money.

Now in its second season, which premiered Oct. 13, 2024, the show, like many others, went on hiatus in early December for the holidays. But now that it’s full swing into 2025, fans are curious when they can start watching again, especially after that cliffhanger season two, part one ending.

While many shows are set to make their comeback in the coming weeks, Tracker’s hiatus is set to stretch a bit longer.

Tracker remains the most-watched scripted TV show currently. It is on its mid-season break, and many fans hoped to see it return in January, along with many other shows. However, CBS revealed its return date, and the Justin Hartley show is returning much later than many fans might have expected.

The synopsis of Tracker season 2's midseason premiere promises a new lead in Colter's white whale case, which refers to the unsolved disappearance of Gina Picket. Season 2's premiere establishes Colter Shaw's (Justin Hartley) connection to Gina's sister Camillle (Floriana Lima), with Gina being the first person that Colter has failed to track down. The case had been in the background until Colter teamed up with a retired detective, Keaton (Brent Sexton), to catch a serial killer. In return for his help, Keaton offered to take a fresh look into the case, leading him to interrogate a former associate of Frank Whales.

TVLine shares the synopsis of the upcoming Tracker mid-season premiere, which will see some new developments in the case. The upcoming episode, titled "The Disciple," is scheduled to arrive on Sunday, February 16 at 8 p.m. on CBS and one day after on Paramount+. Colter teams up with Keaton again on "a new lead.

Even so, the show has always been good at introducing recurring characters and adding interesting cameos that make audiences want to know more about those characters. Already, she has been briefly seen in the trailer kissing Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw. Therefore, fans of the series already know that the two have an intimate connection. What is her role?

Firstly, Lima is portraying Camille Picket. “Haunted, attractive…Camille has been Colter’s off-and-on lover for at least the past 10 years.”
