Get ready to return to Pogue, less than a year removed from the Season 4 finale, with a thrilling update on the future of Outer Banks. Netflix has officially announced that Outer Banks Season 5, which will be the final season of the hit series, has begun production. The streamer even debuted two new images of the cast on the set of Season 5, which can be found below. It’s unclear at this time exactly when Outer Banks Season 5 is going to be released, but it has been confirmed that it will be sometime in 2026. Given that the show is expected to film throughout the rest of the year, the most likely window for release lies sometime in the second half of the year, likely in October/November, like Season 4.

It’s true, Pogues. Filming on Season 5 of Outer Banks is now underway.

Of course, there’s no better way to mark the official start of summer than by beginning production in Charleston, Sc. The fifth and final season of the fan-favorite drama is slated to premiere on Netflix in 2026.

“We are over the moon to be setting out on one last trip with the Pogues,” creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke tell Tudum. “Being back on set with our cast for this final round is nothing short of bittersweet and surreal.
