‘An Unfinished Film’ Trailer: Lou Ye Captures 2020 Wuhan
Image
Director Lou Ye has sparked the ire of the Chinese government for capturing niche stories onscreen; perhaps the biggest backlash came from his docu-fiction feature “An Unfinished Film.”

The aptly-titled film follows a director as he tries to resume shooting of a film he had abandoned 10 years earlier. The only catch? The filmmaker Xiaorui is trying to go into production in Wuhan, China during the January 2020 lockdown. It wasn’t a great place to be.

Qin Hao, Qi Xi, Huang Xuan, Liang Ming, and Zhang Songwen also star.

“Suzhou River” and “Summer Palace” director Lou helms the feature that blends fact with a fictional narrative. The real footage uses images that were banned or blocked by the government, creating a hybrid docudrama that captured the early days of the Chinese lockdown. Lou and Ma Yingli cowrote the script.

The official synopsis reads: “Set in January 2020, the film follows director Xiaorui...

Power Rangers Lost Galaxy's Kai Chen Actor Addresses Potential Franchise Return: "As A Middle-Aged Kai?"
Image
Power Rangers Lost Galaxy star Archie Kao, who portrayed Kai Chen in the series, addresses his potential return to the franchise. Season 7 of the larger Power Rangers franchise was the first to introduce an entirely new cast for its core team, with Kai acting as the Galaxy Blue Ranger for the team. A strict, by-the-books team member, Kai uses the Gorilla Galactabeast, and often found himself in conflict with team leader and Galaxy Red Ranger Leo Corbett (Danny Slavin). Kao's last time as Kai included providing his voice in the episode "Forever Red" of 2002's Power Rangers Wild Force.

Speaking with ScreenRant about his new series on Hulu, Interior Chinatown, Kao addressed the possibility of returning as Kai following his prominent role in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. The actor said he's open to coming back to the role and rejoining the franchise, reflecting on how lucky he feels to have...

Interior Chinatown's Lisa Gilroy & Sullivan Jones On Leading The Show-Within-a-Show And Being Mean To Chloe Bennet
Image
Interior Chinatown's protagonist feels like he's a background character in someone else's story, which is exactly the premise of the new crime comedy series. Adapted from Charles Yu's 2020 novel of the same name, the show premiered November 19 on Hulu and centers Willis Wu (Silicon Valley's Jimmy O. Yang), a background actor playing out Asian American cliches in the police procedural Black and White. The "Generic Asian Man" gets a chance to level up, however, when he witnesses an abduction outside his uncle's restaurant, Golden Palace.

Every episode of Interior Chinatown intersects with the world of Willis' fictional cop show, which is led by Detective Sarah Green (Lisa Gilroy) and Detective Miles Turner (Sullivan Jones) and is as cookie-cutter as TV gets. But Black and White gets upended as well when Detective Lana Lee (Agents of Shield's Chloe Bennet) is brought in to deal with crime in Chinatown and...

Interior Chinatown Stars Tzi Ma & Archie Kao Talk Loss, Chinese Proverbs, And Power Rangers
Image
Things get surreal in Interior Chinatown, the new crime comedy series adapted from Charles Yu's 2020 novel of the same name. The meta-mystery show premiered November 19 on Hulu and follows Willis Wu (Silicon Valley's Jimmy O. Yang) as he unwittingly evolves from "Generic Asian Man," a background actor in police procedurals like Black and White and a waiter at Golden Palace, into a material witness for an abduction and potential murder in his town. His onscreen personas blend with real life as he navigates the role set out for him by his parents and community while breaking out into new territory.

Interior Chinatown features an ensemble cast full of top talent, including Chloe Bennet as Fatty Choi, who takes the opposite view from Willis when it comes to identity. Tzi Ma (Mulan) and Diana Lin (The Farewell) also star as Willis' parents, hard-working immigrants grieving the disappearance of their eldest son,...

Scott Bakula in NCIS : Nouvelle-Orléans (2014)
'NCIS' Recap: Does Bishop Get Revenge on Chen?
Scott Bakula in NCIS : Nouvelle-Orléans (2014)
Last time on NCIS, we saw Abby run into trouble when she became part of a Department of Homeland Security think tank. Suffice to say that Abby's fake bomb was real, a theoretical terror handbook went missing and it launched a crossover episode with NCIS: New Orleans when Torres and McGee hit the Big Easy.

This episode of NCIS, titled "A Many Splendored Thing," shows us Bishop in revenge mode as the team gets some new intelligence in the Kai Chen case.  Chen is a rich business man who commits terror acts to affect the stock market. Bishop is determined to get revenge for the death of her boyfriend, Qasim. I am still sad that Qasim was killed off; I really liked them as a couple.

'NCIS' Recap: Where in the World is Gibbs?
In a recent NCIS episode, we saw Bishop deal with the tragic death of her boyfriend, Qasim, who was shot while assisting with an operation involving Kai Chen. I am sad because Bishop was finally getting some romance, and now she is alone again.

The team is now dealing with a different kind of loss in this episode of NCIS, titled "Off the Grid." It seems that Gibbs has gone missing without a word, and Vance expects the team to find their leader.
