Pitch Perfect's Adam Devine Returns In Bumper In Berlin Trailer

Pitch Perfect's Adam Devine goes overseas in the new Bumper In Berlin trailer. Directed by Jason Moore, Pitch Perfect helped launch the acting careers of Rebel Wilson and Devine, and spawned two sequels; Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) and Pitch Perfect 3 (2017), with the former introducing Hailee Steinfeld to the series. Though, the sequels never reached the same critical or box office success as the first film.

In 2021, Peacock announced their plan to bring Pitch Perfect back with the new series, Bumper In Berlin. The comedy is produced by Banks, who directed Pitch Perfect 2. Bumper, the villain everyone loves to hate, served as the antagonist throughout Pitch Perfect...

‘Shotgun Wedding’ Trailer: Jennifer Lopez Is Held Hostage at Her Own Nuptials
Image
Nothing can go wrong on Jennifer Lopez’s big day… right?

Wrong. The “Marry Me” actress and international pop star leads Prime Video’s upcoming romantic comedy, “Shotgun Wedding,” about a bride (Lopez) and groom (Josh Duhamel) whose nuptials lead to a horrific hostage situation, and not just because of the bad buffet. The action rom-com also stars Jennifer Coolidge as Lopez’s monster-in-law who wields a massive gun and yells “nobody fucks with my family” in the trailer.

The ever-smooth Lenny Kravitz is Lopez’s onscreen ex, but it’s the international pirates who really throw a wrench into the ceremony. D’Arcy Carden, Sônia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan, Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, Steve Coulter, and Alberto Isaac round out the ensemble cast.

Directed by Jason Moore (“Pitch Perfect”) and written by Mark Hammer, “Shotgun Wedding” premieres January 27 on Prime Video. Lead star Lopez, Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman, Alexander Young,...

Jennifer Lopez’s Wedding Becomes a Hostage Situation in Trailer for Action-Rom-Com ‘Shotgun Wedding’ (Video)
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez straddles the action and romantic comedy genres in her next film “Shotgun Wedding,” and the first trailer promises a laugh-filled, high-octane affair. Kind of like “Die Hard” at a wedding.

Lopez and Josh Duhamel star as a couple who gather their family and friends for the ultimate destination wedding, but just as the two start to get cold feet, the wedding is crashed by Lopez’s ex (played by Lenny Kravitz) and the entire wedding party is taken hostage.

If you’ve ever wanted to see Jennifer Coolidge use a machine gun or a wedding dress get turned into a hand-to-hand combat outfit, this is the movie for you.

Armie Hammer was originally set to star before production began, but Duhamel took over the role when troubling Hammer accusations surfaced.

Jason Moore (“Pitch Perfect”) directs “Shotgun Wedding” from a screenplay by Mark Hammer (“Two Night Stand”). Todd Lieberman,...

‘Shotgun Wedding’ Trailer: Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel Endure the Wedding From Hell in Action Rom-Com
Image
“‘Til death do us part” is the haunting overtone of director Jason Moore’s upcoming feature “Shotgun Wedding,” which combines the thriller, romance and comedy genres into 100 minutes of action-packed content.

Prime Video dropped the trailer online (Tk) to promote the film ahead of its anticipated international premiere on Jan. 27, 2023.

Co-starring Grammy-nominated singer Jennifer Lopez and actor Josh Duhamel as an engaged couple, the two are about to get married when the entire wedding party is taken hostage by criminals. The couple must then overcome the bumps in their relationship to save their friends and family.

Teasing at the mixture of steaminess and bloodshed to come, the newly distributed trailer includes a fleeting glimpse of singer-actor Lenny Kravitz shirtless.

The decision to cast Lopez comes as no surprise given the genre-bending picture marks the performer’s second consecutive wedding-themed film. Her first was Universal Pictures’ “Marry Me,” a musical romance...

‘First Kill’ Canceled at Netflix After One Season
Image
Netflix has driven a stake into “First Kill,” deciding against picking up the teenage vampire series for a second season. The news comes nearly two months after the streamer debuted all eight episodes of the show’s first season in early June.

Sources close to the matter maintain that Netflix is proud of the work that producers, cast and crew put in on the series, though the decision came down to a matter of viewing numbers versus cost.

Based on a short story from horror writer V. E. Schwab, “First Kill” followed Calliope (Imani Lewis) and Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook), two teenage girls who fall for one another, but come from warring families: one a dynasty of vampire hunters, the other a line of bloodsuckers.

The series also starred Elizabeth Mitchell, Will Swenson, Aubion Wise, Jason Robert Moore, Gracie Dzienny, Dylan McNamara, Dominic Goodman, Phillip Mullings Jr., Mk xyz, Jonas Dylan Allen and Roberto Mendez.

First Kill Season 1 Ending Explained
Sarah Catherine Hook
This article contains spoilers for First Kill season 1.

At the center of Netflix‘s First Kill is Juliette Fairmont (Sarah Catherine Hook), a Legacy—pure-blood—vampire and Calliope Burns (Imani Lewis), a vampire hunter. Both girls are next up in their families to take on their first kill, but their feelings for one another complicate things.

The (hopefully) first season of this series is based on a short story from Victoria “V.E.” Schwab and expands the plot to eight episodes. With so much extra time to fill, the ending of First Kill season 1 goes its own way. Here is what you should know about First Kill‘s final act.

How First Kill Differs From V.E. Schwab’s Story

The freshman season of First Kill dramatically expands the story it’s adapted from, adding more characters and worldbuilding but some aspects remain the same, including the setup to this whole saga…...

Netflix’s ‘First Kill’ Is a Tired Take on Teens, Lesbians, Vampires, and Teen Lesbian Vampires: TV Review
Image
Watching the trailer for “First Kill,” it was tempting to assume that Netflix’s new teen show got lost on its way to The CW. After watching the actual episodes, however, it’s necessary to apologize to The CW for the insult to a genre it’s done well for years, and which “First Kill” spends an inordinate amount of energy trying to duplicate without much success.

Based on the short story by V.E. Schwab, who also wrote the first episode and produces the series, “First Kill” dutifully sets up its YA supernatural show bingo board. There are bitchy sisters and ice queen mothers, overbearing fathers and wisecracking best friends. There are vampires, ghouls and werewolves. There are star-crossed lovers — vampire Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) and vampire hunter Calliope (Imani Lewis) — caught between their family duties and raging hormones. And yet, for all the work “First Kill” puts into making...

Netflix’s ‘First Kill’: TV Review
Image
Click here to read the full article.

Not to suggest literature’s most famous star-crossed lovers didn’t have it rough, but at least Romeo didn’t grow up learning to kill Juliet on sight — and at least Juliet wasn’t biting back on a primal urge to drain Romeo of his blood.

That’s the conundrum at the heart of First Kill, which charts the saga of Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook), the youngest scion of an ancient and powerful lineage of vampires, and her new high school classmate Calliope (Imani Lewis), the late-blooming baby in a clan of monster hunters. It’s a premise ripe for angsty drama, steamy romance and intricate lore. Alas, though the series tries to deliver them all, its eight-episode debut season is undermined on every front by bland execution that renders it more painless than addictive.

First Kill, which is based on a short story by creator V.E. Schwab,...

DC has announced a casting choice that you didn't know you needed until now, with former Baywatch and Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff on board to provide the voice of Superman in an upcoming series of animated shorts based on the DC comics arc Dark Nights: Death Metal. The rest of the cast was unveiled courtesy of Dark Nights: Death Metal #4, with Hasselhoff's Superman being joined by Black Veil Brides lead singer Andy Biersack as Batman and gothic rock, doom metal, and folk music singer/songwriter Chelsea Wolfe as Wonder Woman rounding out the DC trinity.

The Punisher Star Wishes Eminem Had Chimed In Earlier
Following the recent announcement that The Punisher will not be returning for another outing, the cast of the beloved Netflix show found themselves with a rather unlikely ally in the form of rapper Eminem.

A few days ago, Marshall Mathers took to Twitter to call out Netflix for their decision to cancel the series, keeping his condemnation short and blunt, simply writing:

“Dear @Netflix, Regarding Your Cancellation Of The Punisher, You Are Blowing It!! Sincerely, Marshall”

Since Em Tweeted his message, both Floriana Lima and Amber Rose Revah have expressed their thanks for Mathers’ support, while star Jon Bernthal showed his respect for the rapper’s words, too. And now, it looks like another cast member from The Punisher is also happy to have Slim Shady standing up for the series.

The Punisher Star Thinks The Show Will Return With A New Cast
Marvel fans were left devastated earlier this week when Netflix announced it was bringing the axe down on both The Punisher and Jessica Jones, meaning that all five Marvel TV shows on the streaming service have now been cancelled. The only question that remains, is, will any of them be revived, perhaps in different forms, on other platforms?

Well, one star of The Punisher certainly seems to think that could happen. Jason R. Moore – who played Curtis Hoyle on the series – spoke to TMZ recently and said that he believes The Punisher could return one day, but thinks that it’d be awfully hard to get all the actors back together and so, Marvel may have to recast the roles.

“Man, let me tell you something. It’s going to be very difficult for them to collect all of us, like the original cast. It’s probably going to be...

"The Punisher" star -- who played Curtis Hoyle on the Netflix series -- was leaving a Starbucks Friday in Studio City and gave us a thoughtful take on the show being canceled, and why he saw it coming. The Punisher Showrunner Explains Where Micro Was In Season 2
The Punisher season 2 brought back most of the major players from season 1, including Dinah Madani (Amber Rose Revah), Curtis Hoyle (Jason R. Moore) and Billy Russo (Ben Barnes). However, someone who was conspicuous by their absence was Micro – real name: David Lieberman – Frank Castle’s techie friend who was an indisputable aid in his war on crime last time we saw him.

It was a shame that Ebon-Moss Bachrach’s character didn’t make a comeback, but it’s not much of a surprise, as the first season ended with David finally able to go back home and be with his family after being on the run for so long. Obviously he wouldn’t want to hang around with Frank now that’s got a wife and kids to look after, but according to showrunner Steve Lightfoot, there’s another explanation for where Micro could be during the events of season 2.

The Punisher: How Jigsaw Evolves in Season 2
Don Kaye Jan 19, 2019

Ben Barnes on becoming Jigsaw and Amber Rose Revah on Madani’s quest for revenge in Season 2 of The Punisher.

Two of the characters who return for the second season of Netflix and Marvel’s The Punisher are Billy Russo, played by Ben Barnes, and Agent Dinah Madani, portrayed by Amber Rose Revah.

When we last saw both, they had managed to survive the first season but not without considerable damage. Russo had his memory wiped and his face cut to ribbons -- the latter by Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) himself, who was enraged by his former friend’s actions yet couldn’t bring himself to end Russo’s life. As a result, Season 2 finds Russo suffering from mental damage, fear and ultimately anger, all of which put him on the path to becoming the classic comic book enemy Jigsaw.

Frank Castle is Out of Control in This New Promo Spot For The Punisher Season 2
Get ready for some violent brutality in The Punisher Season 2 is which Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) goes on a war path as he unleashes his fury on the villains that are coming for him. In this sequel, Castle finds himself going up against Bill Russo (Ben Barnes), a.k.a. Jigsaw, who is looking to get revenge on Frank and make him pay for what he did to him in the first season.

I hate to think that this is going to be the last season of The Punisher. After this, who knows when and where we’ll see the character show up again. So, we might as well enjoy this series while we have it.

Here’s the full synopsis for the new season:

Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) can run but he can’t hide from who he’s meant to be. Season two finds Frank in all too familiar territory.

Frank Castle is on The Hunt in These New Photos and Posters For Marvel's The Punisher
Netflix has released a bunch of new photos for Marvel’s upcoming The Punisher Season 2. They feature Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle on a mission of revenge and kicking some ass. They also include images of several of the other characters in the show. I also included a couple new character posters that were released featuring Amy Bendix (Giorgia Whigham), and Jigsaw (Ben Barnes).

Former marine-turned-vigilante Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has been living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes embroiled in the attempted murder of a young girl (Giorgia Whigham). As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Castle attracts a new target on his back as new and old enemies force him to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace a life as The Punisher.

There’s another villain that’s being introduced...

The Punisher Season 2 Review (Spoiler Free)
Tyler McCarthy Jan 18, 2019

The Punisher Season 2 is a big improvement over the first season. Hopefully Marvel and Netflix keep it going.

After seeing the titular hero brutally avenge the death of his family in both Daredevil Season 2 and The Punisher Season 1 in what felt like two back-to-back origin stories, Frank Castle is back in The Punisher Season 2. However, this time, with the people responsible for the murder of his wife and children dead (or worse), fans are treated to an exploration of what happens when Frank has to find his own war.

Anyone who knows me, or has had the misfortune of being cornered by me at a party in the last year, knows that I was not the biggest fan of The Punisher Season 1. It wasted a completely competent origin story gifted to it by Daredevil that ended with Frank Castle suiting up in all his trench coat and skull-vest glory,...

Watch Punisher Brawl With Old Foes and New in Season Two Trailer
A barroom brawl propels Frank Castle into a gritty new mystery in the trailer for Season Two of Marvel’s The Punisher, which returns to Netflix January 18th.

The new season starts with Castle (Jon Bernthal) criss-crossing America and grappling with his double-identity as the vigilante hero, the Punisher. One night at a roadhouse, he’s roped back into his crime-fighting ways when he takes out a slew of goons trying to kill a young girl, Amy Bendix (Georgia Whigham). After Castle saves Amy, he’s compelled to help her...

Frank Castle Unleashes Bloody Hell in This Full Trailer for Marvel's The Punisher Season 2
Netflix has released the first full trailer for Marvel’s The Punisher season two, and as you’ll see… it’s brutal! Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) unleashes the bloody fury as he finds himself up against Bill Russo (Ben Barnes), a.k.a. Jigsaw, whose mission is to get revenge on Frank and make him feel the pain. As you’ll see, it looks like the two will beat the living hell out of each other.

I loved season one, and I can;’t wait for season two. Unfortunately, this will probably be the final season of The Punisher that we see on Netflix. So let’s enjoy it while it lasts!

Here’s the full synopsis for the new season:

Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) can run but he can’t hide from who he’s meant to be. Season two finds Frank in all too familiar territory. With Castle...

Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ Final Trailer: No ‘Daredevil’ In Season 2, Lots Of Blood
Charlie Cox in Daredevil (2015)
If Frank Castle’s first appearance in Season 2 of Daredevil and Season 1 of Marvel’s The Punisher taught us anything it is that no one leaves a trail of carnage behind like the ruthless vigilante played by Jon Bernthal.

Today, just over one week before the second season of one of the last two Marvel series on Netflix launches, the latest trailer shows the body count has risen and the villains are more crazed than ever.

“I dream about the Punisher every night,” says one of those villains, the returning Billy Russo Aka Jigsaw in the comics and portrayed by Ben Barnes in the new look at the new season. “He thinks he has the right to judge me,” adds Castle’s former friend and betrayer who was left for near dead with his face smashed in glass last season. “I want him to feel what I felt.”

Brothers no more.

‘Marvel’s The Punisher’ Trailer: Season 2’s Biggest Foes Get Revealed
Frank Castle, when last Marvel fans saw him, had seemed like he was on the path towards a happier life. But there’s no rest for the Punisher, and as the new trailer for Season 2 of the series reveals, maybe he wants it that way.

And he also has a new reason to commit violence — per the official description, provided by Netflix:

Former marine-turned-vigilante Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has been living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes embroiled in the attempted murder of a young girl (Giorgia Whigham). As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Castle attracts a new target on his back as new and old enemies force him to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace a life as “The Punisher.”

The new trailer also reveals just what Frank did...
