Samuel C. Morrison Jr. is a filmmaker with a diverse background in the entertainment industry. He was born in Monrovia, Liberia and migrated to the United States when he was 3 years old, settling in New Jersey. Morrison received a partial scholarship to Rutgers University after excelling academically and becoming the first member of his family to attend college. However, after his mother passed away and the financial burden became too great for his father to bear, he was forced to drop out of college and pursue other opportunities.

Morrison began his career in the music industry, working in promotions, marketing, and the A&R department for companies such as Def Jam Recordings and TVT Records. He later transitioned to journalism, writing for The Source magazine. In recent years, Morrison has focused on filmmaking, serving as a writer and producer for an entertainment news show on AOL/Huff Post. He has also founded Deck of Cards Entertainment, a production company based in the greater Philadelphia area that specializes in producing high-quality micro-budget content.

Previous films include "By Deception," which was released in November of 2022 on Peacock and Tubi, while also bringing the music-based drama The Mint (2022), starring Jenni Farley and Kristinia DeBarge Kristinia DeBarge and securing R. Marcus Taylor for the action thriller The Dark Military (2019).
