Toronto-born AnnaMaria DeMara, of Guyanese and Ukrainian heritage, moved to Los Angeles to pursue professional dance before transitioning to acting. She first studied with Arthur Mendoza (Stella Adler) and went on to study with many other great teachers including Sharon Chatten (Uta Hagen) and coaches throughout her two decades in LA. As a professional, multi-talented dancer, AnnaMaria began her training at the National Ballet of Canada, and seriously went on to studied jazz, tap, lyrical, house, break dance, and go-go alongside her ballet intense training. Her screen work includes Nip/Tuck, Bomb Girls, Days of Our Lives, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Lucifer, Lost in Space, Private Eyes, and Richard Dreyfuss's second shark thriller Into the Deep. DeMara was also in attendance at Comic-Con in July 2025, for the world premiere of the Sy-Fy comedy, Unexpected Treasures.
A multi-hyphenate storyteller, DeMara wrote, produced, and starred in the short film Check, Please! an official selection of Cannes Short Film Corner, DC Shorts, and LA Best Shorts-earning an Award of Merit for Female Filmmaking. She is in development for an indie feature of her short film, Check, Please!.
Passionate about maternal mental health, DeMara volunteers with Postpartum Support International, helping women secure cost-free resources. She is a proud single mother to a son and infuses her work with themes of family, resilience, and (often) dance.
A combination of her parents background, several other cultural backgrounds from her diverse family and raised along side grandparents, shapes her unique voice in both her personal and professional life, and she finds her immigrant background crucial in her understanding of opportunity and the pursuit of dreams. DeMara's passion for storytelling and emotional authenticity continues to resonate in her acting, writing, and activism.
She's also contributed to tech and creative advisory roles on boards such as About.Me, Final Draft and 4DRetail Tech.
She loves her food, fashion, friends, and family and dancing the night away to good music. She resides in Los Angeles with her son, Ever and her fur ball, Gigi in Miracle Mile in Los Angeles and is represented by Curtis Talent Mgmt.
