The Haunting of Winchester House Went Under the Radar for a Release (May 18th)
The Haunting of Winchester House was recently released by Echo Bridge Entertainment (May 18th) and the feature tests one family's resolve to withstand "one of the most haunted places in America" (Echo). Have a second look at feature whose price is below ten dollars (almost unheard of). The trailer for the feature that went under the radar for awhile is below.

Rapid Fire: Farmhouse, Haunting Of Winchester House, Hills Run Red
If you frequent the world wide web you've probably noticed The Hills Run Red reviews running rampant across countless sites. While it's a pretty kick ass flick I think it's important to remember it's not the only kick ass flick to hit shelves this week. Rather, this past Tuesday was a very significant day for the genre, as a whole load of quality flicks were unleashed on the public. So I took it upon myself to shed light on a few you may have missed.

First off, we'll take a look at the George Bessudo directed mind bender Farmhouse (see Scott Licina's lengthy review here), which totes a bit of a Dante's Inferno vibe. The story sees a young troubled couple (Scarlet, played by Jamie Anne Allman and Chad played by William Lee Scott) crash their car in the middle of a hardly inhabited countryside. The two are fortunate to find a farmhouse nearby,...

The Asylum Going 3D with the Haunting of Winchester House
The Asylum has been doing more non-mockbusters than usual of late so when I read about a film like Haunting of Winchester House, I instantly find myself wondering if this is another original or just their late-to-the-party Haunting of Connecticut mockbuster.

The premise centers on a family that moves into the Winchester House mansion to serve as caretakers and learn why the place has a reputation as one of the most haunted places in America after a malevolent force abducts their daughter.

I assume the film is based on this legendary haunted house in California. If so, I also assume many liberties will be taken.

Principal photography has begun on Haunting of Winchester House under direction of long-time Asylum inmate Mark Atkins, director of two recent Asylum dragon movies I haven't seen and Allan Quatermain & the Temple of Skulls, which I did see and will try not to hold against him.
