Villains Inc. Stars Mallory Everton & Colin Mochrie Create Movie Chaos
Image
Villains Inc. marries supervillain chaos and the workplace comedy. The charmingly chaotic movie follows three henchpeople -- Beatrix, Harold and Cain -- who find themselves struggling to get by after the death of their boss. How are they supposed to get through the day, let alone try to take over the world? Pinky and the Brain have nothing on this trio of put-upon criminals.

Yet the reason the film works is the entertaining characters drawn by a cast of improv and sketch comedy veterans. Studio C's Mallory Everton stars as Beatrix, who refuses to take her new circumstances sitting down. Colin Mochrie fans from the hit comedy series Whose Line Is It Anyway? will enjoy just how off the handle Harold can be. In an interview with Cbr, both actors spoke about how they found their characters and the fun behind the scenes of Villains Inc., which is in movie theaters now.

‘Sasquatch Sunset’ Bigfoots 800+ Screens In Week 2 Expansion: “It’s A Wildcard” – Specialty Preview
Image
Nathan Zellner and David Zellner’s Sasquatch Sunset is stomping into circa 850 theaters this weekend after debuting in 9 with a solid opening for a film many could find weird. A tribe of Sasquatch, possibly the last of their kind, live and love in the woods of northern California, where it was shot.

“We are taking Bigfoot to America. We have high hopes that the broader market will embrace the movie,” says Kyle Davies of distributor Bleecker Street, calling it “a very different” kind of movie and “a bit of an unknown.”

“It’s a wildcard.”

Marketing was mainly through social activations. “I wouldn’t call it traditional marketing. It doesn’t really fit in that box,” Davies adds. The Sasquatch standees in theaters are fun. And Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar is displaying a baby Sasquatch sitting in a glass case with umbilical cord and placenta.

This is “a polarizing film.

Image
Villains Inc. sheds light on unsung henchmen with charm, comedy, and heart in an overlooked corner of the superhero world. Colin Mochrie brings Harold to life, explaining scripted comedy vs. improv, and praising the production team. Mochrie explains why henchmen deserve their story and praises co-stars for bringing comedy and heart to Villains Inc.

Villains Inc. tells the unsung story of the blue-collar workers of the superhero world...the henchmen! After their supervillain boss is killed in a fight against his nemesis, low-level henchmen Beatrix, Cain, and Harold need a job. Frustrated by the temporary jobs their union keeps setting them up with Beatrix devises a scheme to become a villain in her own right, but superheroes, established villains, and strict union rules make her quest for evil success more harrowing than she expected.

Image
One of the biggest changes that the past year has forced the world to grapple with is the loss of freedom to move about freely outdoors. The new indie film Stop And Go tackles this aspect of the pandemic in a comedic manner. A product of Sorø Films Production in partnership with BuzzFeed Studios, the official synopsis for Stop And Go, previously titled Recovery, can be read below.
