Superman gains a brand new superpower (and a new super-weakness)
Image
In the first issue of Dan Slott’s Superman: Unlimited, the Man of Steel’s resolve and strength were tested. An asteroid made of Green Kryptonite was headed to Earth, and Supes was the only Justice League member around to stop it. It took all of his power to slow it down and even more to prevent the crash from killing people. Thankfully, he survived with the help of a new ability.

While Clark was in a coma, the scientists on the Justice League Watchtower learned that Superman had developed a way to stop his body from being weakened by Kryptonite. His body would glow as bright as the sun and protect him from the Green-k’s radiation. The reasoning is explained in Superman: Unlimited No. 2. However, before Clark heads back to Earth, Batman explains what they know, and it isn’t all good news.

Creator of 'Spider-Man: The Animated Series' Speaks Out About Being Excluded by Marvel From Upcoming Comic Continuation
Image
Spider-Man: The Animated Seriesmight be getting a continuation in comic book form, but the series' original creator is not involved, and he has some choice words to say about it. Marvel Comics recently announced Spider-Man '94, a comic continuation of the popular animated series that looks to finally resolve the original cliffhanger from the animated series of Peter Parker going off into the multiverse to find Mary Jane Watson. The four-issue limited series will be written by J.M. DeMatteis (who wrote the original series) and feature art by Jim Towe and covers by Nick Bradshaw, Ron Lim, and John Tyler Christopher. One person who won't be involved, however, is Spider-Man: The Animated Series creator John Semper.

Semper took to X (formerly Twitter) to make an announcement clarifying his involvement or lack of participation in Spider-Man '94. "Since I will no doubt be asked about it by fans of the series: No.

Superman Has Unlocked His Most Invincible Power Ever, But It Could Kill Him
Image
Warning! Spoilers ahead for Superman Unlimited #2!Yes, Superman’s got a killer new power, but his new godlike ability poses a huge danger to DC Comics’ iconic hero. The Dcu has changed dramatically due to an influx of kryptonite, but thankfully, Clark has power to counter it. Unfortunately, it could still lead to the Man of Tomorrow’s death if he’s not careful navigating this new normal.

In Superman Unlimited #2 by Dan Slott and Rafael Albuquerque, Superman attempts to stop a robbery, only to discover the burglars are armed with new kryptonite weaponry. Superman finds himself briefly overwhelmed before his new golden power activates and allows him to take them all out in a matter of minutes.

A flashback reveals that when Superman’s body is overwhelmed with kryptonite, it releases all the solar energy stored within his cells to heal and protect him for up to around 200 seconds.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Producer Appears To Confirm That Sue Storm Will Be The Team's Leader
Image
Traditionally, the Fantastic Four doesn't have a leader, though Mister Fantastic has frequently led the charge on the page. The Invisible Woman has filled a similar role, particularly in recent comic book runs by writers like Dan Slott and Ryan North.

Sue Storm desperately needs an overhaul on screen, especially as she was largely relegated to being eye candy in the Fantastic Four movies from the mid-2000s. While Kate Mara's take was an improvement, her work was overshadowed by a questionable wig from reshoots.

Talking to Collider, The Fantastic Four: First Steps producer Grant Curtis promised that the MCU will deliver a multifaceted Sue Storm, who is potentially portrayed as the leader of this team.

"If you do go back through the comics, you realize that Sue Storm is arguably the leader of the Fantastic Four, because without Sue Storm, everything falls apart," he explained. "We had the desire to date aesthetically,...

7 things nobody wants to admit about the MCU’s Multiverse Saga
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse Saga was a time of change for Hollywood's most famous franchise. It took the ongoing MCU story into new territory, introduced new characters, and even saw the Marvel Studios film series turn to television, using Disney Plus to offer up new types of storytelling.

But the Multiverse Saga encompassed more than just movies and shows centred around the multiverse. There was The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Moon Knight, and so many more film and TV projects. Sadly, many people have called this phase a dud and a failure. This writer thinks this is due to everyone comparing the projects in this phase to Avengers: Endgame, and if we're being honest, nothing will be like that ever again; it was a first for the MCU and for Hollywood, marking the culmination of an 11-year story.

Speaking of being honest, this article...

DC Just Removed Superman’s Only Weakness, What Will Batman Do Now?
Image
What makes Superman a formidable nemesis is the fact that the guy is resistant to almost anything. Being a Kryptonian gives him an upper hand in his fights against enemies. However, bring Kryptonite into the picture, and you have yourself a weakened superhero you might be able to defeat without breaking a sweat.

But what if Superman were not vulnerable to the glowing, green material? It looks like this just got answered thanks to the new comic book series that has truly made the Man of Steel difficult to beat.

Superman becomes near-invincible in new comic series Dan Slott’s Superman Unlimited #1 | Credits: DC Comics

DC has undergone a major shift with the launch of Superman: Unlimited, a new comic series that makes a dramatic change to the Man of Steel. Written by Dan Slott, the debut issue of the comic book pulls off something that the fans have been...

I Really Think Marvel Just Confirmed Spider-Man's Next MCU Villain: "He's an A-Lister"
Image
Warning: Contains spoilers for Spider-Boy #19!

As a new Spider-Man movie takes shape before entering production, there are rumors going around about which member of the heroes’ iconic rogues gallery will make the leap to the MCU, and Marvel Comics may have just confirmed which is next up. Peter Parker has some of Marvel’s best villains, with many to choose from, but one that debuted in 2007 may be getting a renewed focus from the publisher.

Spider-Boy #19, written by Dan Slott with art by Paco Medina, sees Spidey's kid sidekick and his best friend trying to rob a bank run by Mister Negative, a powerful supervillain with a major criminal empire. Since Spider-Man is trying to keep the young superhero relatively safe, he’s upset when he finds out the kid is officially on Martin Li’s radar.

Fans have wanted Mister Negative to appear in the MCU for a while now,...

DC officially changes everything for Superman and villains worldwide
Image
Earlier this year, DC Comics announced the Summer of Superman with the reveal of multiple titles starring The Man of Steel and his family. One of the titles is Superman Unlimited, written by Dan Slott (multiple Spider-Man titles) with art by Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire). It was reported that this series would have a “massive extinction-level Kryptonite asteroid” flying at Earth, and only Superman can stop it. Of course, Big Blue saves the day, but stopping the asteroid kept him out of commission for three months. In that time, everything changed.

Superman Officially Unlocks a Brand-New Form That Makes Him Invincible Against... Kryptonite. Seriously.
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Superman Unlimited #1Everything has changed in the DC Universe, with a new Superman series launching its first issue by doing the unthinkable. Living up to the power of its name, Superman Unlimited has taken Kal-El to a new level of power, infusing him with the might of kryptonite to take a new, golden form, apparently invulnerable to his most famous weakness.

The bombshell is exactly the kind of event with which to launch a brand new series, and Superman Unlimited has changed nearly all aspects of the character's life in a single day. By sending the Man of Steel up against a kryptonite asteroid big enough to kill him, the feat instead grants Superman new life. After almost succeeding in killing him once and for all.

Since this is Superman, the issue's climactic pages see Kal-El do the impossible and slow the asteroid enough to guarantee...

Gohan & Dbz Officially Inspired New Superman, Confirms DC Editor
Image
Dragon Ball is the most influential shonen battle manga series of all time, and this influence is breaching cultural boundaries more than ever. According to DC editor Paul Kaminski, the latest Superman story will force Superman’s son, Jon Kent, to undergo an intense training regimen that was directly inspired by Gohan in Dragon Ball Z.

Superman has consistently been viewed by fans as the Western counterpart to Goku and vice versa. Both characters are aliens with supernatural abilities, and both were sent from their dying planet as babies in order to have a chance for survival on Earth. These are just a few of their similarities, and DC Comics editor Paul Kaminski attributes one more parallel between them by way of their sons, Jon Kent and Son Gohan. In the upcoming series Superman Unlimited,Jon Kent will undergo important trainingwhich, as Paul Kaminski reveals in a recent interview, was...

Reed Richards' Powers Reach Their Horrifying Limit in Brutal Doctor Doom Fight
Image
It’s hard to find a more palpable villain-hero rivalry in the Marvel Universe than Doctor Doomand the Fantastic Four’s Reed Richards, as these Marvel icons have been feuding for decades, and now, Doctor Doom has pushed Reed Richards' powers to their absolute limit. Mister Fantastic’s stretch powers are unique; however, his stretching abilities do have their limitations, and it’s fitting that Doctor Doom is responsible for Reed Richards' misfortune.

In a press release for One World Under Doom #6, written by Ryan North, with art by R.B. Silva, Doctor Doom is seen ripping apart Mister Fantastic’s face with his bare hands in a viscerally brutal display. Doctor Doom has used Reed Richards’ own powers against him before, but this time, it appears beyond personal as Reed Richards attempts to thwart Doom’s successful world domination.

James Gunn or Superman: Who’s Really the Star of DC’s Reboot?
Image
February 2025 – a new Superman comics series from Dan Slott finally hits store shelves. Most fans got to see the original cover, featuring characters from all over the Man of Steel’s publication history. However, a lucky few got the official variant cover, which features the latest live-action Superman, David Corenswet… alongside James Gunn, who now calls the shots in the revamped Dcu. Now, it’s not the first time we’ve seen guest stars on the cover of a comic book. Remember when Jerry Seinfeld appeared on a cover with Superman and Batman? That said, it seems as if James Gunn is now in everything DC-related. And I mean everything – from comics, to TV shows, and even animated cameos, the Dcu might as well be the Gunniverse from now on. Granted, there’s nothing wrong with the idea of a Gunniverse: after all, the Snyderverse engraved Zack Snyder’s visual panache all over its films.

Marvel Preview: Doctor Doom Has Put Together His Own Superior Avengers Team [Exclusive]
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Doctor Victor von Doom will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe next year, as the lead villain of "Avengers: Doomsday." If you haven't heard, the man behind the metal will be none other than former Tony Stark actor, Robert Downey Jr.

To prepare the world for "Doomsday," the big Marvel Comics crossover event of 2025 is "One World Under Doom." The premise, that Doom actually succeeds in taking over the world and does such a good job the heroes are unsure how to oppose him, is similar to 1987's "Emperor Doom".

Back in 2024's "Blood Hunt," Doom became the Sorcerer Supreme, but he didn't need a magic spell to win people's hearts and minds. He's making the sweeping, egalitarian changes that other people with power refuse to, demanding only absolute obedience in return. The general state of things is so bad...

Spider-man: Brand New Day Rumored Casting Update Revealed - Is Mister Negative Coming To The MCU?
Image
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is finally starting to take shape, and Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are currently rounding out the movie's cast. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will join Tom Holland, but beyond that, we only have vague character descriptions to go by.

The latest comes our way from scooper Daniel Richtman; he claims that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is looking to cast an Asian actor between the ages of 30 and 50 for a major role.

While there are many characters this could be for, the prevailing theory online is that we'll finally see the web-slinger battle Mister Negative in live-action. The villain was introduced as one of the big bads of the "Brand New Day" era in the comics and has taken centre stage in the Spider-Man video games.

On the page, Martin Li is a Chinese immigrant turned crime lord who gains his powers after being experimented on with a drug called "Shade,...

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’: Release Date, Cast, Story, and All You Need to Know

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has given us many memorable superheroes and epics, ranging from Thor’s electrifying entry to the Og Captain America’s glorious tale. Tom Holland was 19 years old when he debuted as the friendly ‘not-so’ neighborhood Spider-Man, and now, a decade later, he is set to return in the role for the seventh time in the fourth installment of the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise. Image
The following contains spoilers for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Season 1, Episode 1, "Amazing Fantasy," now streaming on Disney+.

Spider-Man got a new origin story in the premiere of Disney+'s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The series takes place in the McU's "sister timeline" and follows Peter Parker during his early days as Spider-Man. Over the course of its first two episodes, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man introduced a host of familiar and lesser-known characters from across the Marvel Universe. Free Comic Book Day 2025 is reading like a huge nerd literature day
Image
May 3, 2025 is the first Saturday of the month of May, and many geek bibliophiles - or, more accurately, "Pannapictagraphists" - have that day circled. It's Free Comic Book Day. This year promises to be one of its most significant to date.

Most recently, DC Comics entered the fray by confirming its Free Comic Book Day (Fcbd) line-up and sharing about the preeminent Dan Slott's upcoming Superman Unlimited. The quill behind Amazing Spider-Man in 2014 and 2016's Eisner-winning Silver Surfer No. 11 is partnering with DC and Jim Lee to help James Gunn and Peter Safran make 2025 Kal-El's biggest year since, well...since you know when with that "cut" thingamajig.

That announcement helped bolster the news about the reinvention of the label's major heroes and villains called DC All In, which is coming this fall. The other labels also have some offerings for true comic fans. Let's review what we will see on the shelves this summer.

Silver Surfer Is One of Marvel's Strongest Heroes, And He's Got the Powers to Prove It
Image
The Sentinel of the Spaceways that Marvel Comics calls the Silver Surfer has long been one of the publishers most beloved and most powerful characters. Imbued with the Power Cosmic by Galactus himself, the Devourer’s former herald has since used his considerable might to atone for the countless worlds he helped his master consume.

Considering the indescribable energies at his disposal, it’s no wonder that Silver Surfer has an incredible suite of abilities, every bit as vibrant as the stars through which he sails.

Superhuman Physicality

It may seem like a no-brainer considering the source of the Surfer’s powers, Norrin Radd’s enhanced physiology and overall superhuman attributes are nothing short of godlike. Though he’s traditionally portrayed with more focus on his energy-based powers or similar long-range attacks and abilities, the Silver Surfer’s strength, speed, and durability operate at levels that rival Thor himself.

With Metropolis's villains now armed with kryptonite-powered weapons, Superman will have to change the way he operates to stay safe. As with the recent Superman & Lois TV show, Intergang will play a key role in the new series, with...

I Finally Figured Out Who the Fantastic Four's Secret Fifth Member Is
Image
It's recently come to my attention that the Fantastic Four has a secret fifth superhero in its ranks. Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thing have frequently operated alongside Spider-Man, even referring to him as part of their family on occasion, and I would argue that he's an honorary member of the team. Spider-Man's strong connection and history with the Fantastic Four proves that he is their fifth teammate.

The Fantastic Four are regarded as Marvel's First Family for good reason, due to their status as a family first and a team second. With that structure in mind, their roster is more exclusive than most, yet Spider-Man has operated with them enough times to warrant membership.

Roy Thomas and Jim Craig first portrayed Spider-Man as a Fantastic Four hero in 1976's What If? #1, as pictured above, and that hypothetical idea has since become a reality in more ways than one.

Get pumped! Superman gets a new comic ahead of the summer movie
Image
Iconic comic book writer Dan Slott has written titles for some of the most recognizable characters. Among them are She-Hulk (no one's written more comics about her than Slott), the Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man. The latter could be his most controversial. While this writer enjoyed everything from Amazing Spider-Man to everything he did with Otto Octavius in Superior Spider-Man, it was certainly divisive for others. Regardless of how you feel about that one, the series moved a lot of units whenever they were published.

Slott's next venture involves the most important comic book character of all time. He’s writing the Man of Steel in DC Comics' Superman Unlimited with artist Rafael Albuquerque. The esteemed writer said:

“He’s the first and the greatest superhero of all-time, and I’ve been waiting my whole life to tell stories about him. Not just because of all the amazing powers he has,...

Amazing Spider-man Writer Dan Slott Leaves Marvel Comics To Write New Superman Unlimited Series For DC
Image
DC has announced today that Dan Slott, best known for his work on Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, She-Hulk, and Superior Spider-Man, is making the leap from Marvel Comics to pen a new Superman Unlimited comic book.

Set for release in May, he'll be joined by artist Rafael Albuquerque on the new ongoing series. Superman Unlimited will be a key title in DC’s upcoming All In "Summer of Superman" publishing initiative, and this is quite the get for the publisher.

Love or hate Slott's Spider-Man work (and much of it has been controversial), he was responsible for some of that character's biggest-selling stories and heavily influenced the Spider-Verse movies released by Sony Pictures.

Superman Unlimited #1 goes on sale on Wednesday, May 21, and the new ongoing series will launch with a 10-page prelude by Slott and Albuquerque in DC All In 2025 Fcbd Special Edition #1 on Saturday, May 3, as part of DC...

Dan Slott, Longtime Spider-Man Writer, Leaps to DC with ‘Superman Unlimited’
Image
Dan Slott, the Eisner-winning writer who has been the guiding force for Spider-Man stories at Marvel Comics for close to 15 years, has gone across the street to DC.

Slott, who has been signed to an exclusive contract with Marvel since the late aughts, will make his DC debut with Superman Unlimited, writing the monthly comic that will be drawn by Rafael Albuquerque, the artist and co-creator of the award-winning horror comic American Vampire. DC announced the news Thursday.

The title will be a driving force in a company-wide initiative named “Summer of Superman” that ties into James Gunn’s Superman film. The inaugural feature from Warner Bros. Discovery arm DC Studios opens July 11.

Superman Unlimited no. 1 will be available at local comic book shops and online retailers on May 21. The new ongoing series will launch with a 10-page prelude by Slott and Albuquerque in DC All In 2025 Fcbd Special Edition No.

Superman Unlimited Announced, Marking One of DC's Biggest Series in Ages
Image
In a development sure to get fans talking, comic book icon Dan Slott is coming to DC Comics to helm new Superman series. DC Comics has revealed an initiative that focuses on the publisher's greatest hero, and at the center of it all is a new ongoing poised to take the Man of Steel into a groundbreaking new era.

DC Comics has just announced Superman Unlimited, a new comic by Dan Slott and Raphael Albuquerque. The new series is set to bring a number of huge changes to Clark Kent's world, namely an influx of green kryptonite brought to the Earth by an asteroid.

With the Earth more full of kryptonite than it has ever been, Intergang emerges under new leadership, and they've armed themselves with a bevy of Kryptonite-augmented weaponry. Danger now lurks around every corner and if Superman wants any chance to survive this new normal, he's going...

What's Separates Superman From Clark Kent? It's Not Just the Glasses, We Promise.
Image
Almost everyone - fans and fellow characters - teases Superman about his terrible secret identity, which is just made up of a pair of glasses and a civilian outfit. Just about every superhero needs a secret identity, and some may claim that Clark Kent's isn't all that clever, but Superman's disguise isn't anywhere near as bad as people like to claim.

The Clark Kent secret identity has been around for decades - as long as Superman himself, in fact, who debuted in 1938's Action Comics #1 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster - and people have been mocking it for almost just as long.

A lot of people can't wrap their minds around the idea of no one being able to figure out that Superman and Clark Kent are the same person with just a pair of glasses standing between them. Especially when Clark's glasses get knocked off, which has often...

Daredevil Is Finally Replacing the Hand With a New Foe Who's the "Deadliest Fighting Force on Earth"
Image
Daredevil has fought almost every evil force on the planet, and he has just made the surprising confession that he believes that the Gaping Maw is deadlier than the Hand. It's hard to keep track of just how many evil secret societies there are in the Marvel Universe: A.I.M., Hydra, the Hand, and now the Gaping Maw. Daredevil's declaration is incredible, especially for someone as familiar with the Hand as Matt Murdock.

In Spider-Boy #14 by Dan Slott and Paco Medina, Bullseye and his new sidekick Spider-Girl have entered the greatest martial arts tournament in the world. To prevent them from winning, Daredevil and Spider-Boy give chase, entering the same tournament being run by the Gaping Maw, causing Daredevil to admit that of all the secret societies he's fought, the Gaping Maw is perhaps the deadliest organization on the planet.

This statement is remarkable, especially considering just how many dangerous organizations...

Absolute Batman Makes Arkham Asylum Even More Terrifying, Turning the Prison Into the Stuff of My Nightmares
Image
Warning! Spoilers for Absolute Batman #3!The DC Universe has many scary locations, but few are as miserable and as awful to me as Arkham Asylum. Home to some of the worst villains that Batman has ever faced, Arkham Asylum has a reputation for creating more villains than it rehabilitates. It's never been a good place to be in the main universe, and now we know that it's even worse in the Absolute Universe, as we've all learned that Arkham Asylum has gone global.

Many things are different in the Absolute Universe, but one of the most horrifying changes, in my opinion, was revealed in Absolute Batman #3 by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta. In this issue, Alfred reveals the existence of the Arks: black-site prisons run by governments all over the world. The first was known as Ark A and was in Santa Prisca. Now, it looks like the largest of...

Marvel's Saddest Story Belongs to None Other Than the Silver Surfer
Image
Marvel Comics has no shortage of tragic characters, most of whom make up the greatest heroes in the entire universe, and the Silver Surfer is no exception. In fact, it’s fair to say that Norrin Radd might have the saddest story in Marvel history. Not only is his origin tragic, but the Surfer also experienced a heart-wrenching story of cosmic proportions - one few other characters could even fathom.

Norrin Radd aka the Silver Surfer made his debut in Fantastic Four #48 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby during the iconic “Coming of Galactus” story arc. While that was his first appearance, this issue was far from his origin story. Norrin Radd became the Silver Surfer when Galactus came to his home planet of Zenn-La and threatened to consume it. Galactus agrees to leave Radd’s planet alone if Norrin agrees to be Galactus’ Herald. And with that, Norrin Radd became the Silver Surfer,...

Spider-Girl's Origin Unravels as Marvel Explains Her Ties to Mutants
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Spider-Boy #13!Spider-Man's latest variant, Spider-Girl, finally gets her origin story told for the world to read. While there are many characters to adopt the mantle of Spider-Girl, including Anya Corazon of Spider Society, the latest Spider-Girl has emerged as a villain. Her character has been shrouded in mystery since her debut, but Marvel is finally ready to unveil her origin story.

The origin story of Spider-Girl, the newest addition to Spider-Man's rogues gallery, is told in Spider-Boy #13 by Dan Slott, Paco Medina, Erick Arciniega, and Vc's Joe Caramagna, as Bullseye explains to the young girl that she's actually a mutant.

The origin story is not only huge in establishing who Spider-Girl is under the mask after her initial appearance, but it attaches her to X-Men lore.

Renew Your Vows: The Spider-Man story we needed after One More Day
Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man (2002)
Spider-Man has had some of the most divisive comics runs in all of comics. It's been that way for years, and its no different today. Suffice to say, when fans discuss the worst that Spider-Man comics have had to offer, they'd look no further than the storyline that has been widely regarded as one of the absolute worst: One More Day.

The repercussions of this infamous storyline are still being felt today in Spider-Man comics. Fans still regard it as a low point today and that likely won't change anytime soon. But what if I were to tell you there's a run of Spider-Man comics that alleviates the effects of One More Day - or at least it presents an alternate take on Spider-Man and his mythos that would make fans happy?

Grab a seat true believers, and enter the world of The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows.

I Just Realized Hulk Has Only Been Using His Minimum Strength for 62 Years (& He Only Needs to Do 1 Thing to Get Way Stronger)
Image
After decades reading the adventures of the Green Goliath, I just realized that despite his inhuman power, the Hulk is actually operating at his minimum possible strength. What's more, Hulk should be able to increase his strength massively with just one simple, relatively low-effort change. The catch? The change he needs can only be made by his hated other half, Doctor Bruce Banner.

The Hulk is famously 'The Strongest One There Is,' with physical power beyond any other mortal. He's beaten the God of Thunder unconscious, held up 150 billion tons of solid rock, and fought Superman to near-victory. However, because the Hulk is exponentially stronger than Bruce Banner, he can become far, far stronger if the mild-mannered scientist just increases his own muscle mass - and this isn't a fan theory, it's something Marvel already confirmed.

While I didn't make the connection when I first read the comic in question,...

Venom: The Last Dance Just Set Up a Major Marvel Hero and Fans Missed It
Image
Quick Links Venom: The Last Dance Sets Up the Next Venom Host Venom 3 Hints at Eddie Brocks Next Evolution Why Agent Venom Could Revitalize the Sony Series

The following contains spoilers for Venom: The Last Dance, in theaters now.

Venom: The Last Dance is seemingly true to its name, with the movie being the final adventure involving Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote. At the same time, movie franchises almost always come back for more, and that's especially the case in the superhero genre. With the third Venom film, the series may have already subtly set things up for a very unconventional sequel that would still stay true to the latest movie's ending.

One character briefly seen in Venom: The Last Dance is possibly a major hero from the Spider-Man comic books. While he starts out idolizing the Web-Slinger, he ends up becoming the second-most popular host to the Venom symbiote.

After 60 Years, Spider-Man Lore Changes Forever, As Marvel Introduces the Secret Seventh Member of the Sinister Six
Image
In a huge change to Spider-Man lore, Marvel has introduced the secret seventh member of the Sinister Six. The most iconic team of villains who face down Spider-Man, the Secret Six was founded when Doctor Octopus, Mysterio, Sandman, Electro, Vulture and Kraven the Hunter decided to unite against Peter Parker's Wall-Crawler. However, it turns out there was always a seventh member of the legendary team, whose bleak story confirms that fans have been lied to for 60 years.

In Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood #3's 'Whatever Happened to Master Blood?', from Al Ewing, juann Cabal, Edgar Delgado and Joe Caramagna, fans flash back to the 1984 Secret Wars event, where various heroes and villains were spirited away to an alien world and forced into battle. However, not everything is as readers remember - the villains' side now includes a costumed figure named Master Blood, who recounts his many adventures alongside Marvel's other villains.

Spider-Man's New Villain Spider-Girl Reveals Her Connection to a Mind-Blowing Villain
Image
Warning: Contains Spoilers for Spider-Boy #12! The Web of Life and Destiny has been restored in Spider-Man lore, paving the way for the introduction of an all-new 'hero': Spider-Girl. However, it seems this hero isnt starting off that way, as she has a connection to a mind-blowing villain that has molded Spider-Girl into his apprentice, complete with her first assignment: kill Spider-Boy.

In a preview for Spider-Boy #12 by Dan Slott and Paco Medina, Bailey Briggs aka Spider-Boy is standing in a crowd of adoring fans, signing autographs and using his celebrity status to score free street food. All of this is completely new to Spider-Boy, as before now, no one knew he even existed. Spider-Boy had previously been erased from the Web of Life and Destiny, and his entire story arc was reestablishing himself in the Marvel Universe - and he finally did it.

Unfortunately, being remembered by a universe that...

15 Most Powerful Characters Who Beat the Sentry (aka Marvel's Superman)
Image
The Sentry is effectively Marvel Comics own resident Superman, as he shares a number of the same powers with DCs Man of Steel, with the added benefit of not having a clear weakness. With kryptonite, anyone can take Superman down, but there is no equivalent for Sentry. However, that isnt to say Sentrys invincible, as a being who is strong enough can absolutely defeat Marvels Superman in battle. In fact, there are more than a few heroes and villains alike who not only could beat Sentry, but canonically have.

Robert Reynolds aka the Sentry was the product of super-soldier testing the likes of which had never been attempted before. Reynolds was born a regular human, who fell into addiction in his adulthood, only to come across a scientist who offered to turn him into a god. After the chemicals and serums were introduced to his body, Robert Reynolds became the Sentry,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Set Photo Reveals Reed Richards, Sue Storm, And Some Very Interesting Suits
Image
A new photo has been shared from the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps featuring a who's who of Marvel Comics talent.

That includes C.B. Cebulski, David Bogart, Tom Brevoort, Alan Davis, Heather Davis, Chip Zdarsky, Dan Slott, Mark Bagley, Matt Fraction, Ryan North, Sara Pichelli, Tom DeFalco, a mix of writers, artists, and editors who have all contributed to the Fantastic Four mythos.

However, the biggest talking point is a new look at Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm in 1960s-style garb. In the background, we see a couple of blue spacesuits featuring the iconic "4" logo.

Are those what Marvel's First Family wore when they travelled into outer space and acquired their fantastic powers? Whatever the case may be, the design is awesome, especially as the "4" has also been incorporated into the helmets.

"It's quite surreal. I'm loving [Sue]. I love her so much,...

Batman villain [Spoiler] makes surprise appearance in The Penguin episode 4
Image
We're officially halfway through The Penguin, HBO's DC limited series which takes place one week after Matt Reeves' The Batman. I was definitely looking forward to watching this show, but it's blown my expectations out of the water. Not only is the storytelling great, but the performances from Colin Farrell as the titular character and Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone are fantastic. The Penguin is already one of my favorite shows of 2024 and I know I'm not alone in that opinion.

The fourth episode, titled "Cent’anni," picks up during the final events of last week's episode, "Bliss," showing us how Oz managed to escape the Maronis and leave Sofia all alone. We get to see the events through Sofia's eyes and that continues with flashbacks to a decade prior when her father was alive, showing us how she ended up in Arkham to begin with.

Marvel Officially Reveals Its Versions of DC's Most Iconic Gotham Villains (Including Joker & Riddler)
Image
Warning! Contains Spoilers For Venomverse Reborn #4!Marvel and DC have been trading ideas for decades, with each of them taking inspiration from the other. Marvel has just taken things a step further though by officially introducing their own version of Gotham City, including what characters like the Riddler and Joker would look like in the Marvel Universe.

Readers first get to see the fascinating Marvel version of these iconic DC villains in Venomverse Reborn #4 story "Nighthawk V. Hyperion" by writer Dan Slott and artist Stephen Byrne. This story follows a dark Earth where the Squadron Supreme, Marvel's very own version of the Justice League, is taken over by Venom. This disaster starts with Nighthawk, a clear parody of Batman, being upset that every year he gets older, and his villains only get more aggressive.

It seems that, over the years, Nighthawk has been having trouble facing off against his rogues' gallery,...
