Image
Reading Time: 3 minutes

We probably don’t need to tell you that 2024 was a banner year for Jake Paul.

After months of hype, Jake stepped into the ring with Mike Tyson for what might’ve been the biggest event in Netflix history.

The fight itself wasn’t much to write home about — the combatants mostly just danced around each other, and technical issues interrupted the stream for millions of viewers — but both Paul and Tyson were handsomely rewarded for their efforts.

Jake was paid a reported $40 million for the fight, while Iron Mike received a comparatively paltry $20 million.

Seems a bit backward to us, but we don’t make the rules!

Jake Paul is looking to move on to WWE after defeating several retired boxing stars. But he is not coming to the promoton to display his strength as a wrestler, but as a manager to his brother.

Jake Paul has defeated some of the biggest names in combat sports, like Mike Tyson and Nate Diaz, but not in their prime, and years after their retirement. He was showered with hatred instead of appreciation for those victories by the fans. This may have forced Paul into the next chapter of his life, and according to reports, that will be to become his brother’s manager in WWE.

Conor McGregor is Done With Fighting: We Have Higher Chances of Seeing Conor in Hollywood Than in UFC
Image
It’s been a long time since Conor McGregor entered the ring, and now it seems like he’s no longer willing to return either. After his leg injury in 2021, once McGregor took a break from UFC, he seemingly never returned for another fight. He certainly made his Hollywood appearance in the Road House remake, but his Mma career seems done for.

On a more recent note, with a run for the Irish presidency, Conor McGregor seemingly hinted that his career may be moving towards being finished. Speaking at a Bkfc media event, he claimed to be satisfied with what he has done and everything that he has achieved so far, but he noted that “something else” has drawn him.

Why The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Fight Was Delayed From July
Image
Paul vs. Tyson, the highly-anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, was delayed from its initial date in July, and audiences may be wondering why. Set to be one of the biggest boxing events of 2024, the Paul vs. Tyson fight airs on Netflix on November 15. The original decision to delay the fight was made in May, postponing an event that had captured the intrigue of sports fans and YouTube content creator audiences. The addition of boxing to Netflix's ever-expanding catalog is an interesting choice that could prove mutually beneficial for boxing fans and the streaming service.

After finding his celebrity stardom in internet content creation, Jake Paul became a well-known boxer who fights against professional athletes like Nate Robinson, Nate Diaz, and Tommy Fury. Though his career and selection of opponents have put the legitimacy of Paul's boxing career under consistent scrutiny, his official record stands as an...

Netflix Enters Boxing Ring; Streamer Sets Live Fight Between Mike Tyson & Jake Paul
Image
Netflix’s move into live sports continues. The streamer is weighing in to the boxing arena with a fight between heavyweight legend Mike Tyson and upstart Jake Paul.

The streamer will air the fight, which takes place at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday July 20.

It is the company’s latest foray into the live sports field, which launched with golf tournament The Netflix Cup and continued with tennis tournament The Netflix Slam, featuring a match between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, earlier this month.

There have been reports over the last six months that Netflix was eyeing boxing as one of its next routes into sports. Boxing has previously tended to be pay-per-view but there will be no additional cost for the fight on Netflix.

Paul started his boxing career in 2018 with a fight against Deji Olatunji and his professional debut was in 2020 against AnEsonGib.

After Jake Paul’s latest boxing win, he might give mixed martial arts a try
Image
Six months after suffering his first defeat in the boxing ring, Jake Paul has earned a bounce-back win. In front of a sold-out crowd at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Paul defeated former UFC fighter Nate Diaz over ten rounds.

With the win, Paul improved his official boxing record to 7-1. Several of his wins have come against one-time UFC greats, such as Diaz, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva. His only loss came this past February, when fellow influencer Tommy Fury handed him a split decision loss.

If there was any doubt that Paul was ready to move past his biggest in-ring disappointment, he made that intention clear as soon as his fight against Diaz began. The fighter known as “The Problem Child” came out swinging from the opening bell and nearly dropped Diaz in the first round. He did score a knockdown in the fifth round, but Diaz...

Is Stone Cold Steve Austin Going To Return At WrestleMania 39?
Image
Stone Cold Steve Austin is arguably the biggest star in WWE history, so it makes sense that the company would attempt to lure him back to the ring for a match, perhaps at WrestleMania 39. The Texas Rattlesnake worked his first bout in 19 years at WrestleMania 38, putting on a tremendously entertaining spectacle with Kevin Owens to close out the event's second night. Fans got to see him give Vince McMahon the stunner one last time, and it seemed like the 57-year-old had a fantastic time being back inside the squared circle.

Now Fightful Select is reporting that Triple H and WWE are interested in getting Austin involved in another match, with WrestleMania 39 standing out as a strong possibility now that Crown Jewel is over. "...we're told WWE at least wants him to do more with the company. Specifically, we're told that while the Vince McMahon regime had hoped to have Austin...

WWE Crown Jewel: What's Next For Logan Paul After Loss To Roman Reigns?
Image
Logan Paul once again proved to WWE fans that he could put on an entertaining match at WWE Crown Jewel. It was just his third bout inside the squared circle, yet the social media mogul didn't shy away from the massive moment. In front of a stadium packed full of fans, the 27-year-old gave champion Roman Reigns just about all that he could handle, and despite the loss, still leaves Saudi Arabia looking like a million bucks. There's just one question. After challenging the unified champion and coming up short, what's next for Paul?

The odds were always very against Logan walking away with the WWE Championship and Universal Championship at Crown Jewel. Over the last few weeks, the company did a fantastic job helping fans suspend their disbelief heading into the show, but it would have made little sense for Paul to end Roman Reigns' historic title run. However,...

Jake Paul and Doctor Mike are getting back in the ring, but they won’t be boxing against other influencers
Image
On October 29, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will reenter the ring to take on a legendary opponent. Paul, who is still undefeated as a professional boxer, will face longtime UFC titleholder Anderson Silva. Another influencer will be featured as part of the undercard: Mike Varshavski, known online as Doctor Mike, will take on professional fighter Chris Avila.

Most Valuable Promotions is organizing the event, which will take place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. For Paul, the clash with Silva will be a long-awaited return to professional boxing. After defeating Tyron Woodly for the second time last year, the younger Paul brother scheduled a bout against Hasim Rahman Jr., but the seasoned pro dropped out after he refused to go down to 200 lbs. for the fight.

In May, Varshavski outlasted Ian ‘iDubbbz’ Washburn in the main card of an influencer boxing event called the Creator Clash. Now, he’ll make his professional debut against Avila,...

However, after Chimaev missed weight by 7.5 pounds on Friday morning, UFC president Dana White overhauled the fight card. Now, Diaz will take on Ferguson, Chimaev will take on Kevin Holland as the event co-main, and Li will fight Daniel Rodriguez.

The multi-fight deal will call for Jake’s next fight to be distributed by Showtime Sports, ESPN reports, citing Paul’s adviser Nakisa Bidarian and a network source. Chris Paul, Lewis Hamilton Win Big in PETA’s 2019 Libby Awards
The results are in for PETA's 14th annual Libby Awards (“Libby” is short for “liberation” — as in “animal liberation”), in which the group’s youth division recognizes the most powerful players on the animal rights scene — and Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton and NBA All-Star Chris Paul have come out on top for advocating healthy vegan eating.

Hamilton won Best ’Gram for Animals for sharing a photo of a mother pig and her babies lying dead in a dumpster and urging followers to go vegan. In the post, he wrote, “A mother and her babies tossed away like trash. Their rights were never considered, their lives were never theirs to live. This is the price of your bacon. … #chooselove #govegan.”

Paul — who, like Hamilton, is among the executive producers of the groundbreaking documentary The Game Changers — was named Most Animal-Friendly Athlete for touting the benefits of vegan eating.
