Remake Of Sylvester Stallone's $255M Action Classic Reflected On By Og Director: "It's Not An Easy Task"
Image
At San Diego Comic-Con, the original Cliffhangerdirector comments on the remake being made. Released in 1993, the original film was a mountain adventure movie starring Sylvester Stallone as Gabe Walker, a former mountain rescuer who has to take on another mission to rescue a group of plane crash survivors in the Rocky Mountains.

Now, a new version of Cliffhanger is being made by Jaume Collet-Serra. The film follows the same general plot, but substitutes Stallone for Lily James. Also starring in the movie are Pierce Brosnan, Nell Tiger Free, and Bruno Gouery. The movie is set for release on April 3, 2026.

In an interview with ScreenRant at Sdcc, original Cliffhanger director Renny Harlin comments on the remake. He clearly wished the reboot's team the best, saying that he "wish[es] them luck" and hopes "that they're going to do great." However, he did say that it was "not an easy task," in a...

Lily James is a mountain-climbing 'addict' after filming Cliffhanger
Lily James has become a mountain-climbing "addict" since filming the Cliffhanger reboot. The Cinderella star, 36, leads the cast of a new version of Sylvester Stallone's 1993 action movie alongside Pierce Brosnan and the actress has confessed she had the "had the time of [her] life" working on the film and she's thrown herself into the sport of climbing. She told The Hollywood Reporter: "Oh my God, I had the time of my life. It was so hard. I did five hours of climbing a day for many weeks."I was on mountains nonstop. I fell completely in love with it. It’s the most mind-body-soul activity. "And I’m a [mountain-climbing] addict now. I did all my own climbing [in the film], and I got real strong. I was just pounding press-ups between every take."The film is due for release next year and Lily can't wait to share it with audiences. She added:...

Lily James Teases Her "Feral" and "Raw" Remake of Sylvester Stallone's Classic 68% Rotten Tomatoes Action Flick
Image
Since its 1993 release, multiple efforts have been made to either reboot or continue Sylvester Stallone’s high-altitude action film, Cliffhanger. One of the more recent iterations had Stallone attached in a supporting role that would have seen him pass the torch to a new generation of mountain climbers, much like his approach in Creed. However, that version fell apart following a major creative overhaul, which brought on a new set of cast and characters as well as a new director. The project was subsequently reimagined as a gender-swapped remake, with Lily James taking on the lead role. Now, James has provided an encouraging update, confirming that the film has made significant progress and is on track to hit screens soon.

James will next be seen in the movie, Finally Dawn, due out next weekend on July 18, 2025. While promoting the film recently, the actress spoke to ScreenRant, in an interview where...

Modigliani – Three Days on the Wing of Madness review – Johnny Depp’s painter as bohemian badass
Stephen Graham
A lineup including Stephen Graham and Al Pacino seems wasted on this lavish, but hackneyed drama about the Italian artist

Some very cliched roistering, life-affirming wine-drinking, bourgeois-defying artistic shenanigans here from the veteran screenwriting couple Jerzy and Mary Olson-Kromolowski who have adapted a 1980 stage play, Modigliani by Dennis McIntyre, about the Italian sculptor and painter Amedeo Modigliani, known as Modi. Johnny Depp directs and perhaps sees his subject as a bohemian badass not unlike Hunter S Thompson, whom he played in Terry Gilliam’s 1998 movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas – and perhaps not altogether unlike how he sees himself.

It is 1916 in Paris and the brutality of war is destroying the belle époque; Riccardo Scamarcio plays Modigliani, a brilliant, sensual but penniless artist facing poverty and casual antisemitism. Having got into a chaotic affray at a pompous posh restaurant – filmed like a deleted scene from Richard Lester’s The Three Musketeers...

'Suits LA' Star, 47, Lands New Major Role Following Show’s Cancellation
Image
Bryan Greenberg has been featured in many projects since his career began in 1997, appearing in titles such as Bride Wars, Friends with Benefits, and Emperor of Ocean Park, just to name a few, before landing a major role in the Suits spin-off, Suits LA, as Rick Dodsen. Unfortunately, the legal drama spin-off has its life cut short, but that doesn't mean it's the end of the road for the American actor. Greenberg has received a second chance to appear on screens once more, as it was reported that he's set to star in Netflix's Emily in Paris, and details about his role have been revealed.

Greenberg is set to play Jake, described as "an American living in Paris," and will be a recurring character in the show. Also joining him is French actress Michèle Laroque (Good Will Hunting), who's set to play Yvette, who's an old friend of Sylvie’s.

Suits LA Star Lines Up Their Next Major TV Show Less Than 2 Months After NBC Canceled The Legal Drama
Image
Two months after the cancellation of Suits LA, one of its stars has landed a major role. Led by Arrow star Stephen Amell, with original series creator Aaron Korsh returning to spearhead the spinoff, Suits LA turned its attention to the world of entertainment law and put former prosecutor Ted Black right at the center of the action.

Amell was joined by Lex Scott Davis, Bryan Greenberg, Maggie Grace, Tim Winbush, Alice Lee, and Azita Ghanizada, but the new focus and the overall new characters did not continue the revived momentum that the original found on streaming. Suits LA season 2 was axed by NBC in May, owing to the legal drama's weak ratings and the network's shifting priorities.

Deadline confirms that Bryan Greenberg has joined Emily in Paris season 5. The actor, who played Rick Dodsen on the Suits spinoff, will play the recurring role of Jake in the hit Netflix romantic dramedy.

Bryan Greenberg (Suits LA) has joined the cast as recurring, playing Jake, an American living in Paris. Emily in Paris creator calls star's comments against series a 'misunderstanding'
Image
Emily In Paris creator and executive producer Darren Star opened up to Deadline about the upcoming cast changes in season 5 of the Netflix show. Despite negative comments about his time on the show and the direction the writers were taking, Lucas Bravo is returning. Star promises his frustration at playing Gabriel was just a “misunderstanding.”

Bravo declared himself “frustrated” with Emily in Paris and that playing Gabriel was “not fun anymore” as the character was “being slowly turned into guacamole.” In a scathing interview, he made numerous disparaging comments about the writers and his character in the show.

“I think the latter, just a misunderstanding,” Star clarified in the recent interview. “I think he never intended not to come back.” So, looks like there are no hard feelings between the actor and the creator, well at least not in the public eye.

Lucas Bravo’s problem with playing Gabriel in...

Zenithal Review: A French Farce of Phallic Proportions
Image
French cinema often operates with a casual frankness about the body that can feel startling to outside audiences. Zenithal takes this tradition and pushes it into the realm of high farce. The film introduces us to Francis, a dry cleaner living a life of quiet desperation. His glory days, which bizarrely involved being the on-screen nemesis to a martial arts master with a supernaturally large penis, are long past.

His relationship with his partner, Sonia, a self-defense instructor, has stalled. To fix things, she has imposed a strict six-month period of sexual abstinence, a project meant to force them to connect on a higher plane. Francis, feeling useless and adrift, is ill-equipped for this challenge.

The film immediately establishes a world where the anxieties of modern masculinity are not just discussed but given literal, absurd physical form. It’s a strange and provocative setup, a uniquely Gallic satire that uses...

Image
Emily’s Caught Between Cities & Hearts Again. ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

The production kicked off in May 2025, starting in Rome before circling back to Emily’s home turf, Paris. So while the release date hasn’t dropped, all signs point to a late 2025 or early 2026 premiere.

Creator Darren Star cleared (Via Deadline) the air: “She didn’t change her Instagram handle to Emily in Rome.” Instead, Emily in Paris Season 5 is embracing a cross-continental vibe. After Season 4 closed with Emily zipping through Rome on a Vespa with Marcello to the tune of Close To You by Gracie Abrams, fans knew the next season would bring Italian heat. But don’t worry — Emily’s iconic Parisian chaos isn’t disappearing. She...

“After an incredible journey, I’ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post next to fun behind-the-scenes photos with her co-stars. “It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories.”

Image
Lily Collins is heading back to Paris and Rome this summer.

Season five of Netflix’s hit show, Emily in Paris, is set to begin production in May, filming in Rome first before moving back to Paris later this summer.

Series regulars Collins (Emily Cooper), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Thalia Besson (Genevieve) and Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello) will all reprise their roles.

One former castmember notably missing from the list is Camille Razat, who played Camille in the first four seasons. However, it’s not a total surprise, as her character (spoiler!) left Paris at the end of season four after faking her pregnancy with Gabriel.

Emily in Paris season 5 fortunately loses a character who overstayed their welcome
Image
There's some exciting news about Emily in Paris season 5 that will have fans exclaiming, "Oui, oui!" Well, depending on how you feel about a certain character who has now been revealed to be departing the series, at least in a series regular capacity. As first reported by Deadline, Camille Razat won't be back in season 5 as her trouble-making character Camille.

As much as we'll miss seeing the super-talented Razat in the series, we can't lie that the character Camille had run her course after four seasons. By the end of the fourth season, she had basically become a constant plot device meant to stir the pot and cause frustrations for Emily and Gabriel. There wasn't much left to do with her character to keep her in this world.

Camille lied to Gabriel about her pregnancy even after discovering that she was never pregnant. While she and Emily managed to bury...

What’s So Special About ‘Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness’?
Image
After a break of 27 years, Johnny Depp returned to the director’s chair with Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness, the biographical drama about the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani. A great cast with Riccardo Scamarcio in the leading role along with Stephen Graham, Antonia Desplat, and Al Pacino, this was a passion project that took decades.

Bringing Amedeo Modigliani’s story to the screen was nearly as interesting as the artist’s life itself. Al Pacino’s vision in the late 1970s came to fruition under Depp’s direction in 2024. The movie is based on a Dennis McIntyre play, and it takes viewers through bohemian lives in Paris in the early 20th century.

The film has raised interest due to its subject regarding artistic integrity and the complexities of the art-commerce relationship.

“Just about ripped me to shreds”: The $6 Million Movie That Was So Horrendous Johnny Depp Ordered to Never Release It in America
Image
Johnny Depp’s second directorial venture, Modì – Three Days on the Wing of Madness, was released in theaters last year. It came 27 years after his debut directorial venture, The Brave. If you haven’t heard of such a film, it was probably because Depp refused to release the film in the United States after the critical reception of the film was negative.

The 1997 film saw Depp also take on the lead role and cast Marlon Brando in a supporting role. He admitted that The Brave was a challenging film to make in more than one way. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor didn’t want to make the same mistake of taking on too much work and decided to stay only behind the camera for Modì.

Johnny Depp did not want to release his bad directorial debut film in the U.

Johnny Depp's Trail Lawyer Feared the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Actor Could Have Shown Anger on the Stand
Image
It is now more than two years since Johnny Depp and Amber Heard faced each other in one of the biggest and most public trials ever televised. Despite the passing of time, there are still discussions about how the two actors handled themselves during and after the rulings were made. While Depp was seen to have come out the successor in the main, despite being found guilty on his own defamation charge, his legal team has revealed they had some doubts about his ability to keep his cool when taking the stand.

In a new A&e special, Interrogation Raw: Celebrity Under Oath, one of Depp’s lawyers, Benjamin Chew, explains that although the actor was well known for joking his way around Heard’s legal team, there was a worry that he could be goaded into reacting angrily in court. Chew said:

“Johnny's use of humor really undermined whatever serious...

‘Cliffhanger’ Reboot Gets Retooled: Lily James, Pierce Brosnan to Star as Sylvester Stallone Exits
Image
Lily James and Pierce Brosnan are ready to rock with their reboot of Cliffhanger.

Principal photography commenced in Austria for an updated take on the 1993 film of the same name that starred Sylvester Stallone. Jaume Collet-Serra directs the new movie that is planning a theatrical release and hails from Rocket Science, in partnership with Thank You Pictures and Supernix.

The Cliffhanger reboot centers on mountaineer Ray Cooper (Brosnan), who runs a chalet with his daughter in the Dolomites, a mountain range in Italy. When the pair are kidnapped, older daughter Naomi (James) — still dealing with trauma from a previous climbing incident — must overcome her past to save her family.

Stallone was announced last year as starring in the reboot but has since exited the project, as has previously announced director Ric Roman Waugh.

Rounding out the cast are Nell Tiger Free, Franz Rogowski, Shubham Saraf, Assaad Bouab, Suzy Bemba and Bruno Gouery.

Cliffhanger 2 Loses Sylvester Stallone Amid Creative Overhaul
Image
Its bad news for Sylvester Stallone fans who were hoping to see him pop up in Cliffhanger 2, as Variety reports that Sly is now out, and Pierce Brosnan and Lily James are in. Set to follow in the footsteps of the 1993 action-thriller, filming is underway in Austria on the production, which has undergone a complete overhaul since it was announced a little while ago, so much so that were wondering if it can even be called a sequel.

Originally featuring Stallone reprising his role of Gabe Walker only for him to be kidnapped and rescued by his mountain-climbing daughter, based on the official synopsis, the movie doesnt look to have gone through too many plot changes now that Brosnan is taking over for Stallone. It was previously reported that Ric Roman Waugh (Greenland) would helm the sequel, but hes out as well, with Jaume Collet-Serra taking on directorial duties. The...

‘Cliffhanger’ Reboot Reconfigured: Sylvester Stallone Out, Lily James and Pierce Brosnan In
Image
A “Cliffhanger” follow-up keeps on rolling. But now in a much different configuration.

Rocket Science in partnership with Thank You Pictures and Supernix has announced that filming is underway on “Cliffhanger,” a reboot of the 1993 action extravaganza that starred Sylvester Stallone and John Lithgow. This new version stars Lily James and Pierce Brosnan and is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, based on a story by Ana Lily Amirpour.

A proposed follow-up to “Cliffhanger” dates back to 1994, when TriStar announced “Cliffhanger 2: The Dam,” with Stallone returning. For years it sat fallow until 2019, when Amirpour was hired and Jason Momoa was earmarked to star. In 2023 it was re-announced as a legacy sequel, with Stallone set to return under the direction of Ric Roman Waugh. Mark Bianculli wrote that version of the script. Later in 2023, Jean-François Richet was hired to replace Waugh.

And now the production has veered in an entirely different direction,...
