Roy Dunnegan

Roy Dunnegan was born as Ricky Dunnegan in rural Iowa to Glenn 'Doc' and Barbara Dunnegan. His father was a rancher, later turned hobby farmer and factory worker. His mother was a stay-at home mom. He joined the Marine Corps at 17 and after honorably completing his tour he returned to Iowa finding his home area stricken with the economic downturn of the 1980s. He immediately found work at a steel fabrication plant where he learned how to weld, run cranes, read blueprints along with many other skills associated with building bridges. Roy, while as an iron worker, continued hobby farming with raising hogs on the side to supplement his income. He later returned to the military looking for a better life and education. This time Roy tried the Army and scored very well on the entry test affording him an opportunity to select satellite communications repair. In this endeavor, Roy would receive over a years' worth of concentrated electronic communications schooling revealing his inherent ability to comprehend and exploit intercontinental communications and receive global notoriety on multiple projects. Roy's skills brought Austrian Director Mr. Georg Misch and Roy together in the documentary of actress, spy and inventor, Hedy Lamarr. Hedy's patent on spread spectrum is exploited throughout communications today in everyday applications. Roy was able to help bring the right emphasis to the view of Hedy's world contribution. Roy continues to revel in his work with communications research and development today but now as a civilian, and far more flexible to do more in the film industry.
