Jorge Granier is an Entrepreneur, Producer and Executive Producer of the Golden Globe-nominated series Jane the Virgin, which airs Friday nights on The CW.

In his role as Executive Producer of Jane the Virgin, Granier is responsible for bringing the hit comedy series to the United States from Venezuela, where it aired on RCTV as Juana La Virgen. The CW adaptation chronicles the story of aspiring writer Jane Villanueva, played by Golden Globe-winning actress Gina Rodriguez, who is accidentally artificially inseminated and subsequently struggles to navigate her relationships with her biological father, her boyfriend and her religious grandmother. To date, Jane The Virgin has won an AFI TV Program of the Year award, a People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy, a Peabody Award, and Imagen Foundation Awards for Best Primetime Television Program (Comedy), Best Actress (Television), and Best Supporting Actress (Television).

Additionally, Granier is Director of RCTV International, a TV production, sales and distribution powerhouse founded in 1953 with a library of over 100 internationally acclaimed telenovelas. He also has several other shows in development at various U.S. networks.

Previously as Founder and CEO of PONGALO (formerly Latin Everywhere), Granier oversaw the diversified Latino-focused digital media company, which he steered to create a robust digital ecosystem of media properties, including the Pongalo OTT platform, Pongalo Networks' YouTube channels, and 50,000 hours of film and TV content - one of the largest collections of Latino-focused digital rights in the world. Its exclusive library includes hit telenovelas, Hollywood blockbuster movies, television series, documentaries, and kids programming in Spanish. Its own library is supplemented by premium titles from U.S. and Latin American producers, including Revolution Studios. PONGALO also maintains distribution partnerships with Hulu, Netflix, Google, Amazon, Telefonica and more.

Within the past two years, Granier has received much attention and accolades in the media and entertainment industries. He was highlighted in Variety's "Dealmakers Impact Report 2014," which focuses on key players driving the most significant deals in the business. He was one of Variety's "10 Latinos to Watch" in 2016, which highlights and recognizes the work of up-and-coming Latinos in film, television and digital platforms. And he was included in Adweek's "Young Influentials for 2016," which features an impressive lineup of game changers under 40 who have made waves in the world of media, marketing, technology and entertainment.

Granier is an accomplished filmmaker, whose many films include "Pablo Escobar, Angel or Demon?", which is the #1 grossing documentary of all time in Colombia. He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Producers Guild of America, a fellow of the Motion Picture Institute, and a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, where he has also served as a judge for the past seven years. Additionally, he has regular speaking engagements at key industry events such as NATPE, MIPCOM, the Hispanic TV Summit, Digital LA, Digital Hollywood and the World Telenovela Forum.
