One Mad Men Character Was Recast Three Times And Fans Might Have Missed It
Image
For a long-running TV show, child actors are almost always a headache. Putting aside all the ethical ramifications of thrusting someone into the public eye at such a young age, there's the simple fact that kids grow and change in ways that often contradict what the series itself is going for. Sometimes the actor hits puberty and starts getting too self-conscious, or sometimes they simply hit puberty too soon (or too late) and that changes the sort of storylines the writers can do with them.

"Mad Men" lucked out: it only had two main child actors to deal with, and they struck gold with one of them. Kiernan Shipka, who plays Sally Draper, sticks around for the whole series, getting plenty of her own storylines to work with. But with the actors who played Bobby Draper, who's about three years younger than Sally, it was a different story. The first...

Kmr Talent Agents Matt Fletcher & Katie McGrath Join A3 Alum Brian Cho’s New Agency Arise Artists
Image
Exclusive: Staffers from two talent agencies that recently ceased operations — temporarily or permanently — are coming together. Matt Fletcher and Katie McGrath from Kmr Talent, which suspended its SAG-AFTRA franchise last month, have joined Arise Artists Agency, the company recently launched by former A3 Artists Agency President Brian Cho following A3’s shutdown.

Fletcher will be heading the Emerging Talent Division, and McGrath will focus on inclusion and actors with disabilities. Their clients include Cedric Joe, Mason Cotton, Jenna Davis, Carey Cox, and Lauren “Lolo” Spencer. Fletcher and McGrath join former A3 agents Ashley Partington, Abbie Waters and Nic Frascino, who joined Arise at its inception.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Matt, Katie, and their incredible talent to our growing team at Arise Artists Agency,” said agency’s CEO Cho. “Their experience, diverse perspectives, and unwavering passion for their talent align perfectly with our vision as we strive for continuous growth and success.

Mad Men (2007)
Mad Men to Stream on Amazon's IMDb TV With Blackface Disclaimer
Mad Men (2007)
Mad Men's return to steaming later this month will include a disclaimer about the show's use of blackface.

On Wednesday, July 15, all seven seasons of Mad Men will stream for free, with commercials, on the Amazon-owned IMDb TV.

Variety is reporting that an episode of Mad Men Season 3, titled “My Old Kentucky Home” will have a disclaimer at the top of the episode.

The aim of the message is to offer context to viewers about a scene in which John Slattery’s Roger sings the anti-slavery ballad “My Old Kentucky Home, Good-Night” while wearing blackface.

“This episode contains disturbing images related to race in America. One of the characters is shown in blackface as part of an episode that shows how commonplace racism was in America in 1963," Variety reveals the disclaimer will say.

"In its reliance on historical authenticity, the series producers are committed to exposing the injustices...

Beasts Of No Nation, Straight Outta Compton Among SAG Awards Ensemble Nominees
Contributed by Michelle McCue and Melissa Thompson

A morning full of eye-opening surprises, the nominations for the 22nd Screen Actors Guild nominations were announced.

The standout nods were the inclusion of Straight Outta Compton, Beasts Of No Nation, Sarah Silverman, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Idris Elba and two for Dame Helen Mirren.

Not among the perceived hopefuls called were Sylvester Stallone, Charlotte Rampling, Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, The Martian and The Hateful Eight.

Two nominating panels – one for television and one for film – each composed of 2,200 randomly selected union members from across the United States, chose this year’s nominees.

Some of the Sags choices were head-scratchers to be sure, but we’re thinking that the Oscar picks may be very different when The Academy announces their nominations next month live on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at 5:30 a.m. Pt at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

Hollywood blacklist drama Trumbo has led the nominations for the 22nd Screen Actors Guild Awards with three nods for lead actor Bryan Cranston, supporting actress Helen Mirren and the ensemble cast. The Martian and The Hateful Eight were shut out.

Set in 1947, the film centres on Dalton Trumbo (Cranston), who was Hollywood’s top screenwriter, until he and other artists were jailed and blacklisted for their political beliefs.

Cranston will go up against Johnny Depp for Black Mass, Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant, Michael Fassbender for Steve Jobs and Eddie Redmayne for The Danish Girl.

Films that secured two nominations included Beasts Of No Nation, The Big Short, Carol, The Danish Girl, Room, Spotlight - whose outstanding cast nod will only strengthen its status as best picture Oscar frontrunner — and Steve Jobs.

Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominations and It's Full of Surprises! See Full List!
The 22nd annual SAG Awards nominations were announced this morning and it's full of surprises! Sylvester Stallone, loved by critics and the National Board of Review for his performance in "Creed," was ignored. So was Kristen Stewart's supporting performance in "Clouds of Sils Maria." Matt Damon, who was so good and carried "The Martian" from start to finish, was also missing from the list.

But here's what I love about the SAG noms. First, Sarah Silverman's first dramatic performance in "I Smile Back" was embraced. And I'm also happy with the inclusion of "Room's" Brie Larson and the fantastic child actor, Jacob Tremblay. The endearing "Carol" also received noms for both Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, and Saoirse Ronan's performance in the beautiful "Brooklyn" also received a nomination.

The big winner of the SAG noms is Bleecker Street's "Trumbo." Missing from earlier critics awards (see here...

‘Trumbo’ Leads 2016 Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations
Nominees for the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were unveiled this morning in Hollywood, with a fair amount of surprises to be had. Leading the pack is Trumbo, which picked up three nominations, then a large batch of films behind it with two each: Beasts of No Nation, The Big Short, Carol, The Danish Girl, Room, Spotlight, and Steve Jobs.

Perhaps most surprising is no mention of The Hateful Eight, which has one of the year’s best ensembles. Also of questionable note is the inclusion of Helen Mirren for Woman in Gold, a film all but forgotten (we suppose Harvey Weinstein’s campaigning indeed worked). There’s also the welcome nods to Michael Shannon in 99 Homes and Sarah Silverman in I Smile Back, as well as an ensemble nod to Straight Outta Compton. Check out the full list of nominees below ahead of the ceremony on Saturday, Jan.

Hey Arnold!'s TV movie now has a title - Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie - and will feature Alfred Molina...

Hey, football head! Back in November, Variety confirmed that Nickelodeon is developing a new Hey Arnold! TV movie, which will "feature a storyline that picks up where the original series ended and resolves unanswered plotlines–including the whereabouts of Arnold’s parents, long missing from the program."

Today, Variety has unleashed a few more Hey Arnold! scoops. We now know that the TV movie sequel to the original series is going by the title Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie and that Alfred Molina is among its cast.

Spider-Man 2's Doc Ock actor will play Lasombra, "an infamous river pirate operating from a secret compound in the jungles of San Lorenzo."

Mason Vale Cotton is the new voice of Arnold, while the original Arnold - Lane Toran - will lend his voice to 'several other roles'. Who wants to bet that one of them is Arnold's dad?

Much of the original cast is returning, too. Francesca Marie Smith will reprise Helga, Anndi McAfee will play Phoebe again, Justin Shenkarow returns as Harold, Olivia Hack is back as Rhonda, and Nika Futterman is Olga once more.

The original voice of Gerald - Jamil Smith - has been replaced by Benjamin Flores Jnr. Smith, like Mr Toran, will voice some other characters.

We'll let you know when we get a release date or a trailer for The Jungle Movie, which is being helmed by Hey Arnold!'s creator Craig Bartlett.

AMC are prepping fans of Matthew Weiner’s stellar drama, Mad Men, before its final run of episodes arrive in April. Last week, we saw the arrival of a cheeky teaser trailer featuring an era-perfect soundtrack and segmented video shots of the cast. Now, we’ve a first glimpse at the final teaser poster for the show (via Vulture), and it’s as cool as one could expect.

Featuring a slick-haired Don Draper behind the wheel of his car, arm casually flung over the side, fingers clutching a burning cigarette, it’s the type of effortlessly suave imagery that the show has based its reputation on. Along with the poster, Vulture spoke with the show creator,...

Set to kick off this time in the seventies, the show will once more find Jon Hamm leading the exceptional ensemble cast as they dally with the stresses and strife of modern (well, it is to them) life.

We last left them off at the close of 1969 when last year’s first ‘final eight’ episodes debuted, and, as is the case with changing times, this shift into a new epoch...

Review: 'Mad Men' - 'The Runaways'
A review of tonight's "Mad Men" coming up just as soon as my computer's making me a homo... "I know what he likes." -Megan What a strange episode of "Mad Men" was "The Runaways," full of long-lost characters like Stephanie, strange bedfellows (sometimes quite literally), desperation plays and the mental disintegration of poor Michael Ginsberg. By the time he presented his severed nipple to Peggy in a box — in an episode that also featured a threesome and Sally being injured in a sword fight of sorts — I began wondering if I hadn't somehow left tonight's "Game of Thrones" on for an extra hour. The show has done crazier episodes — Roger taking LSD, or Don turning into Richard Speck — but they ultimately felt more cohesive even with all their weirdness, where "The Runaways" at times felt like a collection of odd ideas all placed into the same episode in the hope that they would fit together.

‘Desperate Housewives’ Recap: Did Lynette Lose Tom Forever?
With only one episode left before the two-hour series finale, things are looking grim for the women of Wisteria Lane. On the April 29 episode of Desperate Housewives, the ladies fought to stay in control -- but some wound up losing it altogether. Susan (Teri Hatcher) was having a hard time being mom and dad to Mj (Mason Vale Cotton). When she found out about the soapbox derby at Mj's school, Susan insisted on building him a racer herself. How did Mj thank his mom for all her hard work? By pushing the car into oncoming traffic, of course! (Seriously, if he wasn't so damn cute, I would tell Mj to learn some manners. Most of the time, he treats Susan like crap.) Mj explained how everyone at school already looked at him differently because his dad died; he didn't want to make things worse by being the only kid at...

A Look Back at Mad Men’s Many Bobby Drapers
Mad Men (2007)
Maybe amid all the "Zou Bisou Bisou"–ing during last night's season-five Mad Men premiere, you might have missed one of the show's new faces: a fourth (yes, fourth) Bobby Draper. Mason Vale Cotton replaced Bobby No. 3 — the January Jones–fearing Jared Gilmore — who left the show last year when he was cast in ABC's Once Upon a Time. The revolving Bobbies haven't been too distracting, as the character hasn't had too much to do; he's mostly served the role of the cute kid at the table, occasionally greeting Don with an excited "Hi, Daddy!" or breaking the record player, burning his mouth on the pancake skillet, and so on. Kid-brother stuff, for sure, compared to big sis Sally (played by Kiernan Shipka) who has made drinks, smoked cigarettes, driven a car, seen a psychiatrist, and been caught masturbating. Maybe we'll finally get to see young Bobby grow into...

Episode Recap: Desperate Housewives - 8.06: "Witch's Lament"
Mary Alice: "Paranoia: it's the irrational fear someone is after you. That you're going to be exposed at any moment. Paranoia sneaks upon you causing you to stumble at every turn...paranoia reminds you that no place is truly safe." They need to dig up Alejandro and Gaby wants it over with already. Mary Alice: (Brenda Strong) "Paranoia: it's the irrational fear someone is after you, but even after you hope it isn't real, it can still scare you to death." 3 Days earlier Mary Alice: "Susan Delfino (Teri Hatcher) had always been a great student...knew how to be the teacher's pet: gifts,...

Episode Recap: Desperate Housewives - 7.16: "Searching"
Mary Alice (Brenda Strong) : "The suburbs are full of parents...each has their own style: disciplinarian, smotherer, and negotiator. One thing they all have in common is they love to judge the parent next door." Lee (Kevin Rahm) appears to be forcing Jenny to practise the violin. Gaby (Eva Longoria) believes you can't force children to do things, is she speaking from her past experience where she does force the girls to do things, or where Carlos (Richardo Antonio Chavira) always has to 'force' Gaby to do things she doesn't want to. Lee says Jenny told them she wanted to learn the violin and Mandarin too. Lee asks what Juanita (Madison De La Garza) is doing by herself for the school talent show. Mary Alice (Brenda Strong) "Lynette (Felicity Huffman) lost a lot of sleep over the years, feeding, temperatures - but never complained because a mother is always on call..." ABC Announces Full Fall 2011-12 Primetime Schedule
NBC and Fox have both unleashed their Fall 2011-2012 TV schedule, now ABC has released theirs. I’m excited to see Castle, Modern Family, and The Middle back in the mix. Most of the new shows they have line-up don’t really interest me, but there are a few that have caught my eye. PanAm is another 1960’s based TV show that will go against AMC’s Mad Men and NBC’s The Playboy Club. There’s a show called Revenge that sounds really interesting, but the new series I’m most excited about is is the fantasy series Once Upon A Time, a show where fairy tales collide with the modern day.

Here is ABC’s full schedule along with a description of all of their shows. Go through them below and let us know what TV series you’re most excited about seeing.

Day Time Series

Brian Bonsall due in court -- What's next for 'Family Ties?'
"Family Ties" is all over the news lately! Brian Bonsall is due in court Wednesday for alleged assault.

According to the Associated Press, 28 year-old Bonsall was arrested in Boulder, Co on Dec. 5 after he allegedly got into a fight with a friend, striking the friend with a broken wooden stool.

Bonsall was previously arrested two years ago for assaulting his girlfriend and put on probation, then subsequently accused of parole violations.

This comes on the heels of "Family Ties" mom Meredith Baxter-Birney making headlines by announcing that she is a lesbian. We're all quite familiar by now with Michael J. Fox's struggle with Parkinson's. What could be next for the "Family Ties" crew? Vote below!

Also, take heed "Desperate Housewives" actor Mason Vale Cotton -- don't be the next cute young blonde child actor to grow up to be an alleged assaulter.
