Suman Mukhopadhyay(I)

Suman Mukhopadhyay has directed nine full-length feature films: The latest one is Putulnacher Itikatha aka The Puppet's Tale (2024). The Puppet's Tale had its had its world premiere at Big Screen Competition in the International Film Festival of Rotterdam 2025. Other films are Nazarband aka Captive (2020), Posham Pa (2019), Asamapta aka Incomplete (2017), Shesher Kobita aka The Last Poem (2014), Kangal Malsat aka War Cry of the Beggars (2013), Mahanagar@Kolkata (2009), Chaturanga aka Four Chapters (2008) and Herbert (2005) which won the National Award for Best Regional Indian Film, Indian National Awards. He participated and won awards in various national and international film festivals including Busan, Montreal, Dubai, Munich, San Francisco, Seattle, and Kerala etc. He was on a Fulbright fellowship (2022) with Columbia University, New York and was a George A. Miller Visiting Artist, UIUC (2023).
