John V. Soto

John V. Soto has written and directed five feature films, all of which have been released worldwide. They include action thriller AVARICE (2022), starring Gillian Alexy and Luke Ford, sci-fi thriller, ALPHA GATEWAY (2018) starring Jacqueline McKenzie and Myles Pollard, crime thriller THE RECKONING (2014), starring Jonathan LaPaglia, Luke Hemsworth and Viva Bianca, supernatural horror, NEEDLE (2011) starring Travis Fimmel, Michael Dorman and Ben Mendelsohn and supernatural thriller, CRUSH (2009), starring Chris Egan and Emma Lung. Avarice was selected for the Montreal Independent Film Festival where it won Best Thriller. In 2023 Avarice was acquired by Showtime and has been sold extensively worldwide. His film Alpha Gateway (aka The Gateway) was acquired by Gravitas Ventures and selected for prestigious genre film festivals, FilmQuest and the London Science Fiction Festival. The movie was also selected for the Austin Revolution Film Festival where it won Best Picture. John's film, The Reckoning, was selected for the British Independent Film Festival where John won Best Director. His second film, Needle, was acquired by Lionsgate and was selected for the leading horror film festival, SCREAMFEST, where the film premiered at Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
