Marvel Comics fans know Luke Cage is powerful (hence the name Power Man). Cage has beaten The Wrecker, who loves to tell people that he has defeated Thor, and has taken on the Avengers by himself. However, he isn’t among the ten strongest characters in Marvel. Considering all of the gods, cosmic beings, and gamma-irradiated characters, it would be shocking if he made it into the Top 20. Like all things in comics, that can change and it did thanks to writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing.
The following events take place in Timeless No. 1 in 2024 by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing with art by Juann Cabal with colors by Edgar Delgado.
In short, after the superheroes of the universe were conquered, Luke Cage was left with the powers of the Hulk, Sentry/Void, and Iron Fist. Yes, that’s overkill, but it was needed. Celestial Khonshu and his avatar...

Idw Publishing’s break-out Star Trek line of comics is expanding, with the publisher set to launch multiple new series, including a Star Trek: Voyager comic, a Strange New Worlds comic, and perhaps the most exciting, Star Trek: Red Shirts, which will follow the franchise’s most expendable characters on some of the galaxy’s most dangerous missions.

Marvel has explained why it is important that Kamala Khan preserves her secret identity while operating as the hero Ms. Marvel – and its a reason that most fans might have missed initially. As Kamala explained in the latest issue of her mutant superteam series, Nyx, she identifies as Ms. Marvel first, and her identity as a private citizen second.
In Nyx #7 – written by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing, with art by Enid Balan – X-Man Synch arrives at Nyx and Ms. Marvel gives him the grand tour. Ms. Marvel explains how Nyx works, that they all chip in, and that David Alleyne can now use it to teach his mutant history curriculum that he can no longer teach in school since he was fired.
Synch points out that Ms. Marvel is the only one still wearing a mask and hiding who she is, but she stands up for herself, claiming Ms.

Kamala Khan has a new nemesis in Marvel Comics lore, and given the themes of Ms. Marvel season one, his new villain would fit perfectly as a villain for season two. Kamala's cousin Bilal has joined the ani-mutant radical group known as the Truthseekers; now calling himself Truthseeker, he has made it his goal to expose Ms. Marvel's identity – without knowing who is under the mask.
In Nyx #7 – written by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing, with art by Enid Balan – Ms. Marvel spots her cousin Bilal snooping around Nyx, and as security, she goes to investigate. Kamala finds her cousin on a Green Goblin-looking glider with explosives, "dollar store spider-slayers," and scanners.
Truthseeker reveals that he is stalking Kamala because he believes in the truth, and Kamala hiding behind a mask puts her friends and family and actually putting them in more danger. The idea that Kamala's family feels this...

Star Trek is finally delving into one of Picard’s top twists, and honestly? I’m sold already. Star Trek: Picard followed Jean-Luc’s exploits in the twilight of his life. The show, while generally enjoyed by fans, also had some baffling plot points, such as Jean-Luc and Doctor Crusher conceiving a son that she then hid from him. Fans felt this was out of character, but Star Trek #27 sheds light on why.
Star Trek #27 is written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly and drawn by Mike Feehan and Tess Fowler. I want to be incredibly honest when I say I love the X-Men. I too believed in Charles Xavier’s dream that a world where humanity and mutantkind could peacefully coexist is possible. However, during the Krakoa Saga, Xavier believed he had to modify his desires to fit within a callously hateful world. While Xavier’s dream seemingly died with Krakoa, one mutant team has already proven that it can actually work.
While Marvel’s other X-Men teams have been focused on new cataclysmic threats, petty internal struggles, and building the foundations for a new School for Gifted Youngsters, Ms. Marvel and her friends have begun to build something bigger than themselves. Star Trek is one of the most beloved Sci-Fi franchises in the history of the genre, but that doesn’t mean every little thing about it is perfect. In fact, there are a few details that are downright nonsensical, including and especially one that has amounted to little more than a running gag throughout Star Trek’s many iterations. But, in the most recent Star Trek installment, this particular detail gets a clever fix that actually makes sense.
In Star Trek #26 by Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Angel Hernandez, the psychopathic android duplicate of Data named Lore has detonated a bomb in the center of all reality, one that will extinguish all life in every universe. Captain Sisko and his crew of the USS Theseus narrowly escape the destruction of their universe, sliding through time into an alternate past, where they meet variants of Captain Kirk and his crew of the USS Enterprise.

If Star Trek fans thought that the last few years of Idw's Trek comics added a whole new dimension to the franchise's familiar lore, they had better prepare themselves for the coming year, as the series hints at a gamechanging alteration to the mythology surrounding Benjamin Sisko. The new revelation may prove to be controversial, but it is not out of line with familiar Trek storytelling devices.
Star Trek #28 – written by Collin Kelly & Jackson Lanzing, with art by Tessa Fowler – finds Captain Sisko vaulted backward in time, to "a Bronze-age Bajor," leaving the indigenous population to question whether he is "a terrifying threat or the prophet they've been waiting for."
From this synopsis, readers have immediately started to speculate that Sisko is about to instigate a classic causal loop, creating the mythos that would later lead him to be deemed the Emissary of the Prophets, as originally depicted in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Earlier this week, Marvel Comics shared a cover for One World Under Doom's second issue, teasing Doctor Doom's ultimate victory over the Fantastic Four.
The new Sorcerer Supreme has become the ruler of the entire Marvel Universe and this key moment in Ryan North and R.B. Silva's One World Under Doom event will be further expanded on in Fantastic Four #30 where North's acclaimed run on the title takes a drastic turn.
As the shocking covers below show, Doctor Doom may have done what Mister Fantastic has failed to do for so long. The future of Marvel’s First Family has never been more uncertain as one of its members, Ben Grimm/The Thing, is taken off the board for good.
In addition, One World Under Doom will impact Spencer Ackerman and Julius Ohta’s new run of Iron Man, starting in issue #6 where Tony Stark debuts a new...

Idw Publishing's rebooted line of Star Trek comics turned the cloned Klingon Emperor Kahless into its first major antagonist, as he unleashed havoc upon the galaxy in his quest to become a god. Now, Trek is boldly going to turn Kahless back into a hero – and though I have to admit I'm skeptical about the attempt, if the series manages to pull it off, it's going to be awesome.
The synopsis for Star Trek #30 – written by Collin Kelly & Jackson Lanzing, with art Travis Mercer – teases a redemption story for Kahless, who "must decide what Klingon honor really means." This comes as a major surprise to many fans, as the character's fall from grace in the ongoing series' first year was swift and severe, and had Universe-altering consequences.
As a reader, I've come to trust Trek's creative team, and so I am excited by this narrative decision, yet I have...

Marvel has just solved a Wolverine plot hole many fans might not have ever even considered – that is, how a character with a metal skeleton gets through a metal detector undetected. Now, Wolverine’s daughter, Laura Kinney, has given fans an answer, by claiming she has a pacemaker. Whether she actually does or not remains unclear, but in either case, it explains how she is able to avoid being scanned.
Nyx (2024) #6 – written by Collin Kelly & Jackson Lanzing, with art by Michael Shelfer – finds the book's cast taking a group trip to attend a Dazzler concert.
When the young team arrives at the show, they have to go through metal detectors. Of course, the detectors go off when Wolverine walks through, because of her metal claws, but she plays it off by saying she has a pacemaker – leaving Kamala Khan to wonder whether that is true or not, in a brief,...

However, Marvel's premiere group of young mutants doesn’t seem as concerned as they should be.

Marvel's most powerful hero of all time is making his official debut in its main timeline, combining the powers of the Sentry, Iron Fist and the Hulk. This level of strength has usually been confined to hypothetical stories and alternate realities, but now it's making landfall on Earth-616, where the mainstream versions of the Avengers, X-Men and more will have to deal with being replaced as the planet's ultimate superhuman protectors.
The hero in question is Power Man - a future version of Luke Cage who has collected an immense array of powers, including Hulk's immense gamma strength and Sentry's ability to control reality on the molecular level. Introduced in a dark potential future, Power Man's final battle broke time and space, leaving his broken body stranded in the mainstream Marvel Universe. In a new series coming 2025, he's finally healed, and ready to tour the solar system with unbelievable power.

Warning: Spoilers for Nyx #5Regardless of their creators' original intent, the X-Men have always been a team that promotes the importance of civil rights and social equality. When Chris Claremont became the franchise's focal writer in the 1980s, the X-Men became an analogy for the United States tumultuous civil rights issues. However, after two decades of moving away from Claremonts vision, the X-Men are finally returning to their most important themes.

X-Men Confirms the Team's Shared Non-Mutant Superpower Is Still Canon Despite Huge Franchise Changes
Warning: Spoilers for Nyx #4The X-Men's non-mutant power, the red triangle protocol that allows them to resist mind control or any other telepathic powers, is still in use even after the fall of Krakoa. The world of the X-Men has changed so much recently, especially as they build themselves up "from the ashes" after the destruction of Krakoa. Even though the X-Men have been divided, their shared power still remains.
The red triangle protocol returns in Nyx #4 by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, Enid Balm, Ral Angulo, and Joe Sabino. In this issue, despite Prodigy's advice not to go after her leads, Ms. Marvel is convinced that the new mutant terrorist is drawing her out specifically and winds up in a losing fight with the Krakoan. Even though he put his X-Men days behind him, Prodigy decides Ms. Marvel is right to stand up for mutants, and helps her.

Star Trek has crowned its most important captain of all timeand it is not James Kirk nor Jean-Luc Picard. Recently, in issue 25 of IDWs Star Trek comic, the evil android Lore destroyed the universe, and now, in a first look at issue 28, the destruction has spread to the entire multiverse. Only one Starfleet hero can save it: Deep Space Nines Benjamin Sisko.
Idw shared their January solicitations, including Star Trek #28. The issue, which will be written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly and drawn by Tess Fowler, is part four of the When the Walls Fell story arc. The solicitation for the issue reads as follows:
Lore has destroyed the multiverse, and its fate now lies in Benjamin Sisko's hands. But after the U.S.S. Theseus slingshots into the Celestial Temple, Sisko finds himself without his crew... or any technology... on a Bronze-age Bajor. The ancient Bajorans don't know...

Warning: Contains spoilers for Nyx #4!The X-Men have faced plenty of powerful foes over the years, though few made an impact quite like Magneto. As the Krakoan steps in to take over the Master of Magnetism's dream of mutant superiority, his first major battle shows that he also inherited the former villain's fatal flaw. Prodigy is able to catch Julian Keller off-guard with an unexpected tactical move, turning his oversized ego against him.
The Krakoan faces his first major battle against his fellow mutants in Nyx #4, by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, Enid Balm, Ral Angulo and Joe Sabino, ultimately failing to secure a win. His defeat comes at the hands of former classmate Prodigy, and the loss reveals the new villain's biggest hurdle.
Like Magneto, the Krakoan is incredibly powerful, but he's also arrogant about his abilities and underestimates the teamwork of his opponents. For decades, Magneto lost to the...

Warning: Spoilers for Nyx #4!The X-Men's latest villain is stepping into Magneto's shoes in a big way, as the Krakoan is adopting the Master of Magnetism's old philosophy and a few aesthetic elements to match. Now, he's added a classic catchphrase-turned-meme into the mix. As the Krakoan confronts Ms. Marvel, he pulls out Magneto's famous video game line, "Welcome to Die."
Nyx #4 by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, and Enid Balm brings Ms. Marvel face to face with the series' current villain, the Krakoan. Julian Keller, formerly known as Hellion, has taken his new role in stride. Hes adopted all the drama and pomp of the X-Mens original (and arguably greatest) villain, Magneto, along with his old homo superior agenda that calls for mutants to take their place above humanity.
Julian is taking plenty of inspiration from the Master of Magnetism, and there's no doubt who he's emulating. When...

Introduced in Star Trek: Voyagers third season, Species 8472 has the distinction of being the one race even the Borg fearand for good reason. Voyager encountered Species 8472, and Janeway seemingly brokered an agreement, but as revealed in Star Trek #25, she had second thoughts.
Star Trek #25 was written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly and drawn by Liana Kangas. Trapped in Fluidic Space, the Theseus runs afoul of Species 8472. A few of the aliens beam aboard the Theseus, attacking the crew. They are able to fend off the invaders, and Tom Paris tries to keep their spirits high. He mentions safeguarding the crews loved ones. As Species 8472 beams off the ship, one of them ominous says: Love? We have never heard of it.

Warning: Contains spoilers for Nyx #3!!Since the X-Men's creation, the team has acted as the beating heart of mutantkind. They've been their greatest defenders, ready to assemble and address the endless stream of catastrophes and threats, but not every mutant dreams of living life as a soldier prepared for combat. With Krakoa gone, the Morlocks are stepping up to provide a new safe haven for mutants and a way of living the X-Men can't offer.
In Nyx #3, former X-Men Anole follows Caliban below ground to discover the Morlocks' hideout. They welcome him with open arms, declaring that he is one of them. Like the Morlocks, Anole's distinctly "mutant" appearance makes it impossible to blend into the human society that Krakoa's fall forced them toward.
The Morlocks live in a world apart - rejected by humanity yet uninterest in the life of combat and fighting the X-Men offer.
