William Lim was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and was raised in
Singapore. Since young he has been fascinated with cartoons and
animation films, as well as comedy and horror films. He made his first
short film back in 2007 with his church in Singapore, and has been very
passionate about film making since then. He later produced, wrote, and
directed another short film for his church, along with directing many
news announcements, advertisements and entertainment programs for the
church.
In 2008, William moved to Perth, Australia, to complete his bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Western Australia (UWA). During his stay in Perth, he produced, wrote and directed two short films for his church, along with directing the news announcements, advertisements and entertainment programs for the church. He later realized that his passion in film making is so big that he had no interest in engineering at all. In fact, he almost failed his final year thesis as he was too engrossed in making a short film for his church.
In 2010, he graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering and moved back to Singapore to form "Finalman Production". As a film director, his biggest inspirational heroes are Danny Boyle and Steven Spielberg. He dreams of winning the academy award for best directing before hitting 30 years old. He's now 24.
