Herbert Leung is a Chinese-Canadian film director and stuntman known for his drama-action film, "Stuntman."
Herbert was born in Hong Kong but grew up in Toronto with his twin brother, Albert. They loved watching Hong Kong action movies and Hollywood sci-fi films from the 80s and early 90s. Inspired by the special effects in these films, especially from the TV show "Movie Magic," Herbert decided to pursue a career in filmmaking, focusing on action and sci-fi genres.
In 2004, Herbert returned to Hong Kong and began working with a local production company. Thanks to his background in martial arts, he and Albert got roles in the action movie "Twins Mission" in 2006. This experience gave them a taste of acting and formal stunt training. Over the years, Herbert has directed and produced a variety of projects including short films, TV shows, commercials, and promotional films. In 2015, he returned to training with the Hong Kong Stunt Association to enhance his skills as a stunt performer.
Herbert has directed several notable films, such as "Time Stopper," "Jinn," "Real Estate Hegemony," and "Blind Spot," each adding to his reputation as a talented filmmaker
