TV Lit Agent Adam Van Dusen Moves From Gersh To Paradigm

Exclusive: Paradigm has a new TV literary agent.

Adam Van Dusen has joined the company from Gersh after spending over a decade there.

Van Dusen is bringing over a number of his clients including Sylvia Alcalá (A Man On The Inside), Jeffrey Wang (Silo), Brooke Roberts (The Terminal List), Alex Maggio (FBI), Ben Dubash (Shantaram) and Tiffany Shaw Ho (The Night Agent).

Others joining include Lauren Barnett (The Flash), Ashley Skidmore (Glamorous), Samantha McIntyre (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), Jessica Lamour (Minx), Maggie Bandur (Community), Michael Gemballa (S.W.A.T.), Anya Meksin (High Potential), Taylor Santiago-Berger (Twisted Metal), Dan Liu (For All Mankind), and Ayoka Chenzira (A League Of Their Own).

Van Dusen is the latest lit agent to join the company.

WGA West’s Middle Eastern Writers Committee Urges Hollywood To Be More Inclusive, Less Stereotypical

Members of the WGA West’s Middle Eastern Writers Committee are urging the film and television industry to be more inclusive and less stereotypical in its storytelling.

“Reach out to us. Get to know our work. And most of all, take more chances on us to both tell our own stories and contribute to the ones being crafted in writers rooms all over town,” they wrote Monday in an open letter to the industry. But they noted: “How can we get in the rooms to tell other stories if we’re not even being hired to tell our own?”

The group said they formed the committee “primarily on the basis of one disappointing fact. The Black List And Women In Film La Unveil Participants In 2019 Feature Programs

The Black List and Women In Film, Los Angeles (Wif La) revealed the participants in their 2019 Feature Residency program as well as their Annual Feature Lab.

The collaboration between the organizations provides mentorship and career opportunities to six rising women screenwriters over the course of a year, the Feature Residency kicked off with a three-day intensive this past weekend in a Los Angeles and included mentors Haifaa Al-Mansour (Wadja), Jessica Bendinger (Bring it On), Andrea Berloff (The Kitchen), Aline Brosh McKenna (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Scott Myers, Liz Hannah (Long Shot), and Kiwi Smith (Legally Blonde). The participants will continue in mentorship, script work, and career development for the next twelve months. The Residency is supported by Airbnb and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

For the Annual Feature Lab, six writers were selected from over 1,000 submissions via the Black List website...
