Steven Walter Binko is an American entertainer and entrepreneur. He has developed and appeared in a range of creative mediums, including television, film, publishing, fashion, and music.
Born and raised in the Midwest, Binko began taking theater classes at a young age and spent his teen years performing magic and competing in ballroom dance. After graduating from New Berlin West High School, he briefly lived in Los Angeles and Boston to pursue acting and modeling before relocating to Miami, Florida.
In 2008, he created and produced "The Escape," an interactive reality series that allowed viewers to control casting, challenges, and live outcomes. The show became the most-watched program on its host platform, drawing over 500,000 viewers and earning media attention for its format. Although production ended early due to on-set issues, the project earned Binko awards including "Best of Milwaukee" and "Best of Atlanta" for innovation in digital media.
In 2010, Binko released an experimental music project titled "Sexually Explicit," debuting the material with a live concert at The Flamingo Resort in Tampa, Florida. The project marked his return to the public stage but drew mixed reviews due to the controversial nature of its content. Shortly after its release, Binko removed the music from all major platforms and stepped away from recording. He would not return to music until 2024.
Binko married his first husband, Miguel Vasquez, on November 18, 2011. The couple separated in 2013 and finalized their divorce on August 29, 2018. Though the split was initially described as amicable, Binko later spoke about its emotional impact in an episode of his web series "Binko: Unscripted." Vasquez passed away in October 2020.
In 2012, it was revealed that Binko had been offering intuitive readings under the pseudonym "Psychic Zach" on the platform Psychics Live. He confirmed his identity in a November 25 interview with Dr. Leigh-Davis and launched a web series titled "Psychic Diaries." Through a public Facebook page with timestamped posts dating back to 2009, Binko documented hundreds of predictions, maintaining a verifiable accuracy rate of 98%. Notable examples include a December 20, 2009 post stating, "I see American Airlines Flight 331 going down on Tuesday," two days before the crash in Kingston, Jamaica. Another aired live just 39 minutes before the Aurora Theater shooting, where he mentioned "orange hair, bullets, film strips, and people dying." Following that event, Binko left the platform, which shut down shortly after.
In 2014, during his separation from his first husband, Binko self-published "The Divinity Doctrine: A Metaphysical Guide". Originally intended to explore spiritual awakening, a misstep in its announcement timeline led to a revised and rushed release. The final version took the form of a reference-style guide, covering topics such as astral projection, crystal healing, tarot, astrology, and psychic development. Later that year, following a serious hospitalization, Binko stepped away from spiritual consulting entirely. His psychic page was deleted in 2015, marking the end of that chapter in his work.
In 2015, Binko relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he began training with the NECAT Network and launched "Binko Talk," a late-night variety show taped before a live studio audience. The program featured celebrity interviews, musical performances, and comedic segments. Concurrently, Binko contributed as a political correspondent and journalist for "Unite Magazine". Notably, he interviewed "The Walking Dead" actor Jordan Woods-Robinson and Nashville mayor Karl Dean.
Later that year, Binko returned to Milwaukee and began production on "Binko: Unscripted", a web series offering an unfiltered look at his personal life. The premiere episode captured an emotional moment as he signed his divorce papers. Unlike his previous productions, the series included appearances from close friends and family and tackled mental health, personal growth, and social issues. The raw and vulnerable content resonated with audiences, earning Binko a nomination for "LGBTQ Advocate" and a finalist spot for "Best of Milwaukee" in 2018.
In September 2020, "Binko: Unscripted" gained national attention when Binko was hospitalized following an apparent overdose. He later spoke candidly with various press outlets about the incident, emphasizing the importance of addressing mental health. He shared plans to include the 911 call and bodycam footage in an upcoming episode to further destigmatize the conversation. Binko has since spoken openly about his experiences with anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and ADHD, stating his commitment to "continue the conversation."
In May 2022, Binko relocated to Dallas, Texas to be with his longtime best friend, Marcin Janusz Gorski, whom he married in a private ceremony on July 16, 2022, in Kingston, Tennessee. Their relationship inspired his return to music with the release of the single "Best Friend." The two separated in August 2023 following Binko's public coming out as polyamorous, though they remain legally married and close friends.
In January 2024, Binko performed the National Anthem at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine-a moment that would later inspire his children's book "Keep Trying!", which encourages resilience and self-confidence in the face of failure. The story follows a young boy learning that success isn't about getting everything right the first time, but about having the courage to keep showing up. The book was published under Marcin's company "EverKind Collective".
During this period of transition, Binko also endured a series of personal challenges-including a physical assault, the theft of his car, and death in the family-that pushed him to explore deeper emotional territory in his work. These experiences shaped a new creative chapter, leading to the release of 11 original songs between 2024 and 2025.
