A Year Out From 2026 World Cup, Broadcasters, Officials And Marketers Start Blowing Their Vuvuzelas
Image
Blue-skying ruled the day at “The Global Game: The Future Of Soccer, Tech & Media,” a conference featuring stakeholders in the sport as it approaches a milestone in 2026.

Speakers throughout Thursday’s event had to invent new superlatives to describe their expectations for next summer’s World Cup, to be held in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy proclaimed that the championship game next July will be “the most watched event in human history – not sporting event. Event.”

Before dismissing the buzz inside Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center as just so many industry vuvuzelas, consider the reasons for the optimism of government officials, broadcasters and tech companies. Next summer’s World Cup will be the first quadrennial edition to feature 48 teams, up from 32. The tournament’s 104 games will be hosted by 16 cities across the three countries, which will boost ratings, certainly here at home on Fox.

‘The Luminous Life’ Review: A Breezy and Melancholic Portrait of a Portuguese Zoomer Looking for Love, Plus a Steady Job
Image
Films about 20-something characters drifting aimlessly through life have a tendency to drift themselves, but that can also be part of their charm. Not every movie needs to be a nail-biter, and not every plot needs to be engineered like a Maserati. Some of the best examples of the genre — Dazed and Confused, Before Sunrise, Frances Ha, Fellini’s I Vitelloni — convey that feeling of endless drifting while remaining altogether captivating. In a sense, the drift becomes the crux of the story.

Nicolau (Francisco Melo), the shy and shaggy protagonist at the heart of Joao Rosas’ debut feature, The Luminous Life (A Vida Luminosa), feels like the quintessential drifter of our time — or at least as such a time exists in a contemporary western European capital. Lovesick and forever looking for gainful employment, he wanders around Lisbon in search of something he can’t quite name or put his hands on.

'Terrifier' Icon Art the Clown Celebrates Halloween Early With New Blood-Soaked Funko Pop
Image
The slasher sub-genre has seen a host of scary new icons in the 2020s. However, none have taken the genre quite by storm like Art the Clown fromTerrifier. The franchise, created by writer-director Damien Leone, has become one of the biggest indie horror franchises of all-time, with the next installment being right around the blood-soaked corner. Now, before Terrifier 4 makes moviegoers scream, Funko has unveiled their latest horrific Pop for the murderous franchise.

Based on Terrifier 2, Funko's latest horror Pop sees a blood-covered Art the Clown handing out candy on Halloween night. However, in classic Art fashion, he's seen using a severed head as a candy bowl. This figure isn't for the faint of heart to say the least. It's rare for Funko to use one of their classic headmolds in such a brutal way, but it's authentic to this unrated slasher sequel. Besides the second head, there's...

Celine Song Says Audiences Are ‘Scared’ of Taking Rom-Coms Seriously Due to ‘Misogyny’
Image
Celine Song is speaking out on how rom-coms are written off by critics and audiences alike. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker was asked by the Southampton Playhouse Artistic Director Eric Kohn why there are fewer rom-coms made today (although Song’s sophomore film “Materialists” is decidedly not one of them). Song told the Southampton Playhouse that the lack of romance genre films is in part due to “misogyny,” specifically by deeming the features merely “chick flicks.”

“There has been this diminishing of the genre by calling them ‘chick flicks,'” Song said. “I think about this in terms of what I’d consider the middle class of movies. Either you can make a movie for so much money that you have to make so much money back, or the movie is being made for festivals under $2 million where it’s for some people and the goal is to go through the journey...

‘South Park’ Hopes the Return of a Popular Character Will Pacify Angry Fans
Image
As South Park fans are well aware, the show’s Season 27 premiere date has been delayed from July 9th to July 23rd. And creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone wasted no time in stating that this is all due to Paramount’s “shitshow” of a merger with Skydance Media, which is “fucking up South Park.”

In an apparent effort to save face, Comedy Central released a new poster for the season with its updated date. But instead of simply proclaiming that “South Park is Back!” the name of the show is obscured by faux graffiti reading “Jesus.”

Sure enough, the image features Mr. Garrison’s fourth-grade class — including Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny, Wendy and even DogPoo — posing for a photograph along with PC Principal and the familiar cartoon figure of Jesus Christ.

Jesus, of course, has been a prominent fixture in the world of South Park since day one, when...

This Back To The Future Star Made A Hilarious Cameo In It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Image
Fxx's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" will be premiering its 17th season in July, and along with the record-breaking new season and a surprise crossover beyond their collaboration with "Abbott Elementary" comes the celebration of 20 years on the air. Who would have thought that of all the major shows, both network and/or on basic cable, the raunchy "Seinfeld" of the 21st century would make television history as the longest-running live-action scripted American sitcom?

Naturally, with at least two decades worth of some of the best dark comedy ever produced on television, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has had its fair share of notable guest stars. Some of the most memorable guests include Academy Award-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, who has appeared on the series as Pappy McPoyle, the patriarch of the comically disgusting McPoyle family. Emmy-winner Jason Sudeikis has also appeared on the series as an ex-member of the Paddy's Pub Gang,...

Illegal Baby Names
Image
Names are more than just labels, they reflect culture, identity, and values. However, around the world, some names are so controversial, bizarre, or disruptive that governments have declared them illegal. From names that mimic royalty to ones loaded with profanity or political tension, countries (and U.S. states) set naming laws to protect children from ridicule or harm.

What’s accepted in one culture might be a banned name in another. In Iceland, for example, names must fit native grammar rules, while New Zealand draws a hard line at names like “Violence” or “Sex Fruit.” Germany requires that a name clearly reflect a person’s gender. Some countries even maintain approved name lists, rejecting any name that’s not on their list – or an “official name listing” like BabyNames.com. These bans might sound strict or even silly, but they’re often intended to safeguard a child’s dignity.

In the United States,...

The 10 Best Lee Majors Movies And TV Shows, Ranked
Image
A casual poll of younger audiences would likely reveal a lack of awareness as to who exactly Lee Majors is, but mention some of his best-known films and television? Well, most people still wouldn't know him, but they all know how to use Google, so they'll be fine. Majors' peak of popularity was across the 1970s and 1980s, primarily due to two hit shows, but his filmography features more shows and movies worth seeing out, whether he's new to you or you're already a fan.

Majors would never be accused of having a wide acting range, and he'd probably be okay with that assessment. His niche was in playing casual heroes, laid back guys with the skills and reluctant drive to do the right thing, and there's no one better when it comes to saying it all by saying nothing at all -- aside from one well-timed eyebrow arch. Much...

Why Disney Had To Cut A Controversial Scene From The Santa Clause
Image
Although sold to audiences as a delightful holiday comedy for the family, John Pasquin's 1994 blockbuster "The Santa Clause" has a twisted premise at its heart. Divorced dad Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) is looking after his young son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) on Christmas night when, up on the roof, there arises a clatter. He goes to investigate and finds the very real Santa Claus preparing to go down his chimney. Scott yells out and startles Santa, causing the jolly old man to fall off the roof to his death. The accidental manslaughter of Santa Claus is a weird place to start a heartwarming fable for kids, much less Disney's larger "Santa Clause" franchise.

Scott then finds a business card among Santa's belongings, entreating him to don the furry red coat and pick up the Christmas gig where Santa left off. Scott, in turn, returns the sleigh to the North Pole...

Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Tracks II: The Lost Albums’ Is an Epic Chronicle of His Missing Years
Image
It’s not every day that Bruce Springsteen releases seven albums at the same time — 83 songs in all, going back over 40 years. But there’s never been an archival project with the same crazed ambition of his new box, Tracks II: The Lost Albums. His 1998 Tracks was a crate-digging collection of vault gems that fans had spent years praying for — or hoarding on bootlegs. But Tracks II is a whole different ballgame: seven unreleased albums Springsteen made, trying out various genres and voices, spanning from 1983 to 2018. Each one of these...

Mark Dacascos and Samuel Le Bihan in Le Pacte des loups (2001)
Theatrical releases announced for Silent Night, Deadly Night remake and Return to Silent Hill
Mark Dacascos and Samuel Le Bihan in Le Pacte des loups (2001)
Last month, we learned that Brotherhood of the Wolf and Silent Hill director Christophe Gans’ new Silent Hill movie Return to Silent Hill, which is said to be “totally independent from the two previous movies,” had secured a U.S. distribution deal with entertainment studio Cineverse. About three months ago, that company, which is also behind the Terrifier franchise, went into production on a remake of the classic Christmas slasher movie Silent Night, Deadly Night, with writer/director Mike P. Nelson (the Wrong Turn reboot) at the helm. Now, Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting, its horror division, have announced that they’re teaming with Iconic Events Releasing to bring the Silent Night, Deadly Night remake to theatres on December 12th, with Return to Silent Hill following on January 23rd.

Directed by Charles E. Sellier Jr. from a screenplay by Michael Hickey (with Paul Caimi receiving story credit), the original Silent Night,...

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Returning Netflix Action Show Becomes Global Streaming Hit Days After Release, Despite Dividing Audiences & Critics
Image
Arnold Schwarzenegger's returning Netflix action show has become a global streaming hit just days after release, despite dividing audiences and critics. Schwarzenegger's action movies have been a defining part of his career for decades, making him an action star from his very early days onscreen. This includes roles from 1982's Conan the Barbarian to 1987's Predator, often portraying a heroic figure in high-octane scenarios. He's also no stranger to being a morally gray character, such as his role as the T-800 in The Terminator movies.

In recent years, Schwarzenegger has landed major roles in newer action movies, such as The Expendables films and Escape Plan alongside Sylvester Stallone. His upcoming movie projects include voicing the President in martial arts comedy Kung Fury 2, and playing Santa Claus in Christmas action comedy The Man with the Bag. However, he's also branched out into TV in recent years, such as voicing...

Chris Parnell Breaks Down Last Night’s Easter-Themed ‘Rick and Morty’
Image
Easter may have been a couple of months ago, but that didn’t stop last night’s Rick and Morty from “decking the house with Easter baskets,” as Jerry sang in his horrendous musical opening.

Of course, Rick and Morty did Easter the only way Rick and Morty could: beginning with Jerry running over the Easter Bunny with his car and continuing with the complex, interplanetary Easter origin story in which Jesus Christ — yes, that Jesus Christ — was an alien sent to Earth to eradicate the Easter Bunny, a human-sized ravenous beast that brainwashes people into having sex with each other.

While Rick and Morty themselves deal with the larger space story, Jerry’s arc in the episode sees him transform into the new Easter Bunny, much like Tim Allen turned into Santa after accidentally killing him in The Santa Clause.

And so, we decided to turn to the voice of Jerry himself,...

Eli Roth Says Joe Begos' Horror Project 'Jimmy & Stiggs' Will "Mess Some People Up"
Image
Eli Roth, the horror filmmaker most famous for movies like Cabin Fever and Thanksgiving, has decided to give underrated filmmaker Joe Begos a chance to play his latest film on the big screen. The movie is titled Jimmy & Stiggs, and upon a screening, Roth was so impressed that he made it a personal mission to plan a theatrical release. The Hostel director says that Jimmy & Stiggs stands out because it "has such life, and it is going to mess some people up."

Judging by Begos' previous filmography, Roth may have a strong point, as Jimmy & Stiggs is the latest in a career filled with horror entries so graphic that they're too intense for those with a weak stomach. Per the report by IndieWire, the duo was present at a Q&a session after an early screening of Jimmy & Stiggs. The event was the result of Roth's...

David Harbour's Santa will slay again when Violent Night 2 opens next year
Image
Good news comes from Universal with the announcement that David Harbour will be returning to the role of Santa in Violent Night 2. Anyone who has seen Violent Night certainly remembers his performance as a hard-drinking, surly, rough around the edges St. Nick, who really knew how to fight (and had a sledge hammer he called “Skull Crusher”).

In 2022’s Violent Night, a group of mercenaries with festive code names like Mr. Scrooge, Candy Cane and Frosty invade a mansion where a wealthy family is celebrating on Christmas Eve. “Celebrating” may actually not be the right description for this particular holiday gathering, though – these family members are combative, ruthless and don’t trust one another.

When the mercenaries burst in, they hold the family members captive, hoping to get into a secret vault that holds $300 million. But little do they know, Santa Claus is stuck in the mansion with them, since...

Arnold Schwarzenegger on Working With His Son Patrick and Chris Pratt
Image
Arnold Schwarzenegger has had many notable co-stars throughout his storied acting career, from starring alongside Danny DeVito in Twins, teaming up with Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies, and joining Sylvester Stallone in The Expendables franchise and later Escape Plan, but he is yet to share the screen with his son Patrick Schwarzenegger and his son-in-law Chris Pratt. He is, however, open to working with the two of them on a future project, provided that one very important stipulation is met (and it's not about him having a bigger dressing room).

Schwarzenegger set out his requirements for collaborating with his family members while speaking to E! News at the Season 2 premiere of his hit Netflix series Fubar. He stressed the importance of having a strong story as a starting point for such a project, one that would entice him, his and ex Maria Shriver's son Patrick, and his son-in-law Chris Pratt,...

'Violent Night 2' Reveals Director & Release Date
Image
After years of waiting patiently, it has finally been confirmed that Santa Claus will see red again as David Harbour returns in the festive action sequel, Violent Night 2. The studio has now confirmed who will direct the follow-up, as well as leaving the perfect release date for part two of the Christmas action-comedy franchise under the tree.

Released back in 2022, the first Violent Night stars David Harbour as Santa Claus alongside John Leguizamo, Beverly D'Angelo, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi Patterson, Cam Gigandet, and André Eriksen. The action outing finds Harbour’s Santa reaching into his sack and bringing out the big guns after a team of elite mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage. But the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus. Who, they quickly find out, is no saint.

The first outing gifted audiences with the...

Violent Night 2 Sets Christmas 2026 Release With David Harbour And Tommy Wirkola Both Returning
Image
If we had a penny for every time a major Christmas movie got announced on 11 June, 2025, we'd have two pennies. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Yes, following the wake-up shot that was the announcement Robert Eggers is tackling a new take on A Christmas Carol over at Warner Bros., our mid-summer festive feeling intensified this morning with the news, courtesy of THR, that r-rated candy-canes-and-battle-hammers joint Violent Night is getting a sequel — and both director Tommy Wirkola and star David Harbour are returning.

Slated for a Christmas 2026 release, Violent Night 2 will continue the story of Harbour's Santa Claus, who we first met as a pool ball and ice-skate wielding, jaded alcoholic just about ready to give up on the happiest season in the first movie, only for a home invasion and subsequent spell in the company of kiddo Trudy (Leah Brady) to...

Violent Night 2 sets December 2026 release
Image
Tommy Wirkola’s Christmas-themed sequel has set its release date. More on Violent Night 2 below.

2022’s Violent Night was a delightful surprise. Who knew watching David Harbour wreak havoc in a Santa costume would be so much fun?

A sequel to the film was announced in 2023 and a 2025 shoot was planned. Now, Universal Pictures has given Violent Night 2 a release date, but it’s still a while away. The sequel will hit US cinemas on 4th December 2026 as confirmed here by Deadline. No UK date has been confirmed but it shouldn’t be too far apart from the US one.

The original saw Harbour’s alcoholic Santa Claus fight mercenaries as they take a family hostage. The film’s thoroughly ridiculous premise works mostly because Harbour commits to it with ferocity and director Tommy Wirkola manages to mix brutal violence with a healthy dose of silliness.

Harbour is...

‘Violent Night 2’ Gets Ready to Deliver More Holiday Carnage with 2026 Release
Tommy Wirkola in Violent Night 2 (2026)
The Ho-Ho-Horrordays are coming in 2026; Violent Night 2 has officially set a release date.

87North and Universal will release Violent Night 2 in theaters December 4, 2026.

Santa Claus actor David Harbour confirmed his return recently, and, in an update, while Deadline reported it was unclear whether director Tommy Wirkola will be back to helm the sequel, THR officially confirmed that Wirkola officially returns for Violent Night 2.

Pat Casey and Josh Miller will also be back to write Violent Night 2. “There’s stuff we left on the floor like the North Pole, Mrs. Claus, the elves,“ director Tommy Wirkola noted last year. “But story-wise, I think we have a really, really cool idea that expands on the world and scope but still keeping that tone that we love from the first one.”

In 2022’s Violent Night, “A team of elite mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve,...

Tommy Wirkola Returning to Direct ‘Violent Night 2’ (Exclusive)
Image
Tommy Wirkola is back in the sleigh for Violent Night 2, the sequel to its Christmas-themed action movie released in 2022, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

The studio on Wednesday dated the sequel for a Dec. 4, 2026 unwrapping.

David Harbour is back as the icepick-stabbing, skate-slashing Santa Claus, who in the first movie was a bitter drunk headed towards turning back on the holiday until a little girl shows him the light.

It’s unclear if his lucidity will remain intact for the second outing. Also unclear is if the new story will include Mrs. Claus, briefly mention in the first movie. Universal is eying a September start of production in Winnipeg.

Kelly McCormick and David Leitch of 87North are back as producers as are screenwriting team Pat Casey and Josh Miller.

Violent Night proved to be a solid hit, gifting the studio a $50 million domestic haul on a budget of around $20 million.

Violent Night 2 sets December 2026 release, with Tommy Wirkola returning to direct the sequel
Tommy Wirkola
Update: That didn’t take long. I mentioned below that it wasn’t clear if Tommy Wirkola would return to direct Violent Night 2, but THR now reports that he’s officially signed on to helm the sequel. The production is considering a September start in Winnipeg.

— Original article follows —

Santa Claus is coming to town… to kick some ass. Universal has set a release date for Violent Night 2, with the Santa-centric action sequel slated to hit theaters on December 4, 2026.

David Harbour will once again play Santa Claus, but it’s not clear if director Tommy Wirkola will also return. Kelly McCormick and David Leitch are back as producers through their 87North Productions banner.

In true sequel fashion, Violent Night screenwriters Patrick Casey and Josh Miller teased late last year that the next installment will be bigger than the first. “The Violent Night movies are not as big budget as the Sonic movies,...

Universal Sets Violent Night 2 for December 2026 Release
Image
Santa’s back. And he’s not happy. Universal Pictures has announced that Violent Night 2 will be released in theaters on Wednesday, December 4, 2026.

From 87North, the powerhouse producers of Bullet Train, John Wick, The Fall Guy, Atomic Blonde, Nobody, and this summer’s Nobody 2, comes a new chapter in yuletide mayhem.

In 2022’s bare-knuckle holiday sensation, Violent Night, an embittered Santa (Emmy and Golden Globe nominee David Harbour), armed with lethal combat skills, took out a team of ruthless mercenaries to rescue a girl and her family. Now, it’s time for not-so-jolly Saint Nick to suit up again.

Violent Night 2 is produced by 87North founders Kelly McCormick and David Leitch and will be released by Universal Pictures.

In the first film, when a team of mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a...

‘Violent Night 2’ Set for December 2026 Release
Image
Universal Pictures has set the sequel to the 87North holiday action film “Violent Night” for release on Dec. 4, 2026.

Released in December 2022, “Violent Night” starred David Harbour as a surly version of Santa Claus who, while making his annual rounds to deliver gifts, stumbles upon a house with a family held hostage by mercenaries and takes matters into his own hands to rescue them. The film grossed $76 million at the global box office against a $20 million budget.

Tommy Wirkola directed the film from a screenplay by “Sonic the Hedgehog” series writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller. Harbour will return for the sequel with 87North founders Kelly McCormick and David Leitch producing, though details on the director, writer and plot remain under wraps.

Like its predecessor, “Violent Night 2” will take up an early December/post-Thanksgiving release slot that historically is a slow period for new releases outside of specialty titles. Studios...

Superman Will Bring 1 of Green Lantern's Most Obscene Scenes to Life, But It's Not Even His Most Vulgar One
Image
A new international trailer for James Gunn's Superman (2025) just dropped, and it features Guy Gardner's Green Lantern character (played by Nathan Fillion) constructing a giant middle finger. It’s easily the most crass moment audiences have seen from the film so far, but it’s nothing compared to some of the outrageous acts other Green Lanterns have pulled in the comics.

DC’s most outrageous Green Lantern moment came in Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo's Injustice 2 #63, when Lobo briefly wielded a power ring. After punting Dex-Starr, the Red Lantern cat, into orbit, Lobo followed up with an over-the-top display of disrespect by constructing a giant, phallic construct.

Lobo then slammed the giant construct into Red Lantern Atrocitus, sending him into a violent free spin. The moment perfectly captures Lobo’s brand of unfiltered chaos and gives Dcu audiences a taste of just how controversial his upcoming onscreen debut could be,...

"Having To Play A Lot Of The Same Beat": Why Stranger Things Star David Harbour Is Relieved Season 5 Is The End
Image
Stranger Things star David Harbour is relieved that season 5 is the end of the long-running sci-fi series, explaining why he's happy it's over. It's been confirmed that Stranger Things season 5 will bring the Netflix series to a close later this year. Volume 1 will be released on Wednesday, November 26, Volume 2 on Thursday, December 25, and the series finale on Wednesday, December 31. The episodes will see the main characters from Hawkins, Indiana doing battle with Vecna one last time to save the world from the threat of the Upside Down.

During a conversation with Scarlett Johansson in Interview Magazine, Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper, explained why he's somewhat relieved Stranger Things season 5 will end the show. The actor explained how he had fun with his role in the series and enjoyed his time while making the show. The Twilight Zone Creator Rod Serling Created The Christmas Episode For One Reason
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

A Christmas episode of "The Twilight Zone"? As unlikely a combination as that sounds, it happened in the show's second season: "The Night of the Meek." Henry Corwin (Art Carney) is a mall Santa who loses his job after showing up drunk. Corwin's drinking isn't from apathy, though; quite the opposite. He cares too much and it breaks his heart to see so many living in poverty on Christmas.

Henry Corwin wants to see "the meek inherit the Earth," as the Bible once promised they would. Stumbling through the city (and still in costume), Corwin comes across a bottomless bag that can conjure any gift someone requests. So, he takes it on himself to be Santa for real. At the very end of the episode, once all the gift-giving is done, he stumbles onto a reindeer-pulled sleigh and an...

We’ve heard that Leone plans to reveal Art the Clown’s origin in the new sequel, and now he has revealed to Cris Parker of 3C Films on YouTube that Art’s backstory will be told in the first 15 minutes of Terrifier 4! So if you’ve been wondering how this guy came to be, you’re going to get the information right up front in the next sequel.

Thunderbolts* Concept Art Reveals The Wildly Different "Spec Ops" Version Of David Harbour's Red Guardian
Image
Thunderbolts* put the spotlight on several B-List characters in the hope of elevating them to the A-List (as members of the McU's New Avengers).

Among them was Red Guardian, whom we first met in 2021's Black Widow. While he was a comedic character, his relationship with Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova—as their "father"—gave Russia's Super Soldier a heart and made him an instant fan favourite.

In Thunderbolts*, Alexei enthusiastically embraces the chance to become a beloved superhero and helps point Yelena in the right direction as her mental health struggles continue. He does so in a costume not dissimilar to the one he wore in Black Widow, but the hero came close to getting a "Spec Ops" makeover.

As you can see below, new concept art shared by Aleksi Briclot imagines a very different take on Red Guardian. He explains, "I was dealing with a darker vibe on this proposal,...

A Santa Clauses Star Called Working With Tim Allen The Worst Experience Ever
Image
Never meet your heroes — or Tim Allen, that is. Few things are quite as unpleasant and soul-crushing as finding out that an actor you've adored is a total d**k in real life. And rest assured, the silver screen Santa Claus that we Millennials used to cherish and laugh at growing up has done a lot to obliterate our immature fandom and warrant our utmost contempt instead. Case in point: /Film's Bj Colangelo previously wrote about a story that involved Allen being a prick to his co-star Rene Russo on the set of Barry Sonnenfeld's dark comedy "Big Trouble".

But even if you set aside Allen essentially calling Russo "unattractive" to her face, he has a long history of engaging in problematic behavior throughout his career with his co-stars and other celebrities. One of the most scathing of those comes from actor, comedian, and screenwriter Casey Wilson, who worked...

The Family Dynamics of ‘Succession’ Were Injected Into the Mayhem of ‘Rick and Morty’ Season 8, Say Creators
Image
Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” is back for Season 8, and the nearly year-and-a-half break has resulted in a burst of creative energy for a show that, at its best, can only be loosely described as a sci-fi sitcom. Creators Scott Marder and Dan Harmon have returned to the core Smith family dynamics (partly inspired by “Succession”), now severely impacted by Rick (Ian Cardoni) and Morty’s (Harry Belden) rippled universe mayhem. Season 8 offers up some provocative existential problems, along with eye-popping world-building, and even more imaginative body horror. At the same time, there are a few callbacks to feed the fanbase.

Here are some early highlights: In Episode 1 (“Summer of All Fears”), Morty and older sister Summer (Spencer Grammer) return from being prisoners inside a simulated “Matrix” as punishment for not returning Rick’s phone charger. Summer became a ruthless tech firm leader while Morty suffered Ptsd from going to war.

Fortune will be penned by Neil Widener and Gavin James, and adapted from their short story. Their Minecraft movie has already grossed $930 million Usd at the global box office. Arnold Schwarzenegger Dances His Way Through Netflix's Fubar Season 2 Trailer
Image
Just like the Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger's Luke Brunner is back for another season of action-packed heroics. Netflix has released the official trailer for the next season of Fubar, which is shockingly light on action and surprisingly heavy on dancing sequences.

After being nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in A Complete Unknown, Monica Barbaro is also back as Emma Brunner in the new season, which finds the father-daughter duo going up against an old flame from Luke's past, Greta Nelson (played by The Matrix co-lead Carrie-Anne Moss), who is now a terrorist plotting to destroy the world. At the Upfronts, Sports Sideline Scripted TV as Studios Lean In to Live Events
Image
In the glory days of the TV upfronts, the broadcast networks would build up to a big reveal: The schedule release.

The fall schedule would be revealed, and media buyers could get a glimpse of what show would get that prized Friends or CSI lead-in.

In 2025, the upfronts still build up to a schedule release, but it isn’t a fall lineup: It’s an NFL game.

The only connective tissue between this year’s upfronts, from NBCUniversal and Fox to Disney, YouTube and Netflix was sports, and the NFL in particular, with every company using their presentation to reveal an upcoming matchup that advertisers will want to buy into. Netflix and YouTube each had NFL commissioner Roger Goodell make the reveals himself (though only Netflix made him wear a Santa Claus-esque coat).

NBCUniversal used its event to tout the return of the NBA on NBC, bringing out John Tesh...

Arnold Schwarzenegger & Jamie Lee Curtis in 'True Lies' Reunion for Amazon
Image
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis reunited on stage at Amazon's upfront presentation in a moment that is sure to delight action movie fans. It's been more than 30 years since the two actors starred in James Cameron's 1994 box office blockbuster True Lies, and the event gave them both a chance to reminisce about working together as husband-and-wife duo Harry and Helen Tasker in the critically acclaimed feature, which centered on an international espionage plot involving the outwardly ordinary married couple.

As reported by Deadline, Schwarzenegger made an appearance at Amazon's 2025 upfront presentation at New York's Beacon Theatre to talk about his starring turn as Santa Claus in the Christmas-themed action-comedy The Man with the Bag, which is expected to hit Prime Video this December. South Park's Creators Made A Gruesome Western That Fans Have To Check Out
Image
In 1992, when Trey Parker and Matt Stone were in their early 20s and attending the University of Colorado at Boulder, they famously assembled a very crudely animated (and gleefully profane) Christmas special called "The Spirit of Christmas." It featured a violent battle royale between Frosty the Snowman and Jesus Christ, as witnessed by a quartet of foul-mouthed youngsters. That led to Parker and Stone putting together a 3-minute live-action short, a fake trailer for a jokey flick called "Alferd Packer: The Musical." Alferd Packer, as many may know, is one of only four people in American history to be convicted for the crime of cannibalism. He confessed to having to eat his fellow comrades to survive while they were lost in the Colorado mountains in 1874. "Alferd Packer: The Musical" was a gloriously tasteless riff on Packer's crimes.

Reactions to the fake trailer were so positive that Parker and Stone...
