Robert Faith

  • Actor
IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, Robert Faith now lives between Christchurch, New Zealand, and Los Angeles, USA. He is the son of a Royal New Zealand Airforce Father, and his Mother, a Nurse. His first acting role was when he was 8 - playing the lead of Oliver in the famous Gilbert and Sullivan musical. His voice was so strong and pure, that the Director got Faith to perform the show without microphones. He appeared in many stage plays as a young boy, and studied classical violin, opera singing and voice elocution.

While in his twenties, he was spotted on the street so to speak, and approached by a talent manager to do modeling work. He was never totally satisfied doing this work, but over the years he appeared in dozens of catalogues, not only in New Zealand and Australia, but also abroad throughout Japan, Taiwan and Korea. He became one of New Zealand's first well recognized male print models. This was not his passion however, and he soon branched out into television commercials. He has to date appeared in literally dozens of national and international TVCs. It was around the late 1990s that he decided to extend his talent into TV and film, and appeared in extra roles ('Captain James Cook'), an international game show, ('Man 'o' Man), and subsequently acted in several short films. One of his first roles was that of a gangster in 'Bullets and Sunglasses.' There was a fight scene being filmed at the rear of a business premises involving a firearm. The scene was so realistic, that a member of the public called Police emergency, and Faith came close to being shot by Police (even though the Producer had logged the filming with Police HQ).

In 2006, Faith played the character Robin Slade, a goofy, nerdy Dad, for which he won Best Portrayal of Character in the 48 Hour Film Festival. His recent work includes the award winning feature film, Sisterhood, in which Faith plays Kevin, a romantic, bumbling farmer, and Last of the Living, a comedy/horror. Both of these films are in worldwide distribution.
