VH1's Darkest Reality Show Was Banned After Three Episodes For The Worst Reason
Image
Megan Wants a Millionaire never saw the light of day after a contestant killed his wife, ending the show after just 3 episodes. Contestant Ryan Jenkins almost won the show, but later was found dead in a hotel room after committing suicide. Reality TV has its dark side, with many shows filmed but never aired due to various reasons, including criminal activity and production issues.

Although entertaining, reality TV is a tough business. Even the more established shows like Vanderpump Rules are being threatened to be canceled, while Bringing Up Bates got the boot, largely due to The Duggars.

There were other shows that lasted even less on television. One in particular aired on VH1 over a decade ago. Megan Wants a Millionaire was perfect for its time. However, a contestant did the unthinkable, and millions were lost as production was immediately cut.

We're going to take a look back at what took place,...

Osbourne's Rock Of Love Feud Hits Court
Sharon Osbourne
Sharon Osbourne's showdown with a reality TV reject kicked off on Wednesday - jurors were selected after both sides failed to settle their feud outside the courtroom.

Megan Hauserman is suing the rock matriarch over allegations she assaulted her during a recording of U.S. TV series Rock Of Love: Charm School in December 2008.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Abraham A. Khan had offered to meet privately with Hauserman, Osbourne and their attorneys to resolve the matter before calling in a jury panel.

But Osbourne's attorney insisted the parties were "six figures away" from agreeing on a settlement, while Hauserman's lawyer, Roderick L. Lindblom, vowed to show jurors video evidence of the attack.

Lindblom intends to drop Hauserman's intentional infliction of emotional distress accusation, leaving only allegations of battery and negligent infliction of emotional distress to be tried.

He also plans to make Osbourne the first witness he calls to the stand.

Osbourne is countersuing Hauserman, claiming the blonde initiated their TV scrap for publicity.

The brawl began after the contestant insulted Osbourne's husband Ozzy, calling the former Black Sabbath star a "brain-dead rocker". The 58 year old allegedly retaliated by grabbing Hauserman by the hair and scratching her.

Judge Sets Trial Date For Osbourne's Rock Of Love Dispute
Ozzy Osbourne
Sharon Osbourne will come face-to-face with reality TV reject Megan Hauserman in a Los Angeles courtroom next year - a judge has set a trial date over allegations of battery.

The wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne is being sued by Hauserman amid claims she was attacked by Osbourne after appearing on her U.S. TV series Rock Of Love: Charm School in December 2008.

Osbourne is said to have lost her temper when the contestant insulted her husband, calling the former Black Sabbath star a "brain-dead rocker".

Hauserman filed suit accusing the rock matriarch of battery, negligence and infliction of emotional distress. She went on to further allege that Osbourne attempted to assault a process server when he tried to hand her legal papers in April 2009.

Osbourne subsequently countersued, claiming Hauserman initiated the brawl on TV for her own publicity.

Defending her actions, Osbourne said, "She had it coming, big time. It shows you how dumb she is. Anyone who knows anything about me knows not to say anything about my family, or you're going to get it. Say what you like about me, but don't ever, ever, ever insult my family."

The two parties will now meet in a Los Angeles court on 8 February, unless they can reach a settlement before the case goes to trial, reports Eonline.com.

Police were brought in to investigate Hauserman's allegations against Osbourne, but no charges were filed.

Tareq and Michaele Salahi, Balloon Boy: Reality TV dream seekers go too far?
Tareq and Michaele Salahi's alleged crashing of the White House state dinner Tuesday night raises more questions than just how security let them through.

To what lengths will people go to in order to land on a reality TV series? Should reality show producers actually consider and condone the actions of those who've broken the law specifically to get attention to get on the show? Would TV viewers want to watch said scofflaws getting more fame and fortune on their own shows?

It's no surprise that reality shows have been a breeding ground for attention seekers. Any regular Joe nowadays can have their 15 minutes in the sun and possibly even parlay that into extended fame. Some have even made a career out of reality TV show-hopping. Megan Hauserman, we are definitely looking at you.

But with the competition so fierce to land on these shows, those craving fame have been...

'Megan Wants A Millionaire' Star Gets a New Show

Did Megan Want a Killer Millionaire?
As I read the La Timesthis week about the snafus that VH1 made in selecting Jasmine Fiore's (alleged) killer, Ryan Jenkins, as a contestant on Megan Wants a Millionaire, I wondered how these background check "snafus" keep happening time and time again. VH1 blamed it on "clerical" errors. This is the third story of "clerical" errors in the La Times in one month in connection to a tragic death: Lily Burke, Dea'Von Bailey, and now Jasmine Fiore. VH1 Officially Cancels "Megan Wants A Millionaire" Off Air Following Accused Killer Contestant Ryan Jenkins' Death
The VH1 reality series "Megan Wants a Millionaire" has officially been canceled following the homicide and apparent suicide controversy of one of its contestants Ryan Jenkins.

Jenkins, 32, was found dead in a Canadian motel room on Sunday from an apparent suicide, which brought an end to an international manhunt for his search. He had been wanted for the murder of his wife, Jasmine Fiore, whose mutilated body was found stuffed in a suitcase in a trash bin.

He was one of the hopefuls for the hand of reality show veteran Megan Hauserman in the "Bachelorette"-style show, in which seventeen wealthy single men compete for her love. It had debuted on air on August 2, but had been postponed and eventually canceled altogether after the controversy.

Suspect in U.S. model murder found dead
Vancouver, British Columbia -- A reality TV star wanted for the brutal murder of his bikini model ex-wife in California has been found dead in a motel near Vancouver, Canadian police said on Sunday.

Ryan Jenkins, a Canadian who was the subject of a manhunt in the United States and Canada, apparently took his own life while hiding at the motel in Hope, British Columbia, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Local media said Jenkins hung himself, but Canadian police refused to confirm details of his death after finding his body in the motel room on Sunday.

Authorities in California had charged Jenkins, 32, with the murder of Jasmine Fiore, whose mutilated body was found in a suitcase stuffed into a trash bin just over a week ago in the town of Buena Park outside Los Angeles.

Police said Fiore's fingers and teeth had been removed to make it harder to identify her body,...

VH1 Undecided about Future Reality Show Featuring Ryan Jenkins
Executives at VH1 are uncertain about whether the network will air reality show I Love Money 3, which features Ryan Jenkins, the man charged with murder in the death of his ex-wife.

Production on the latest cycle in the I Love Money franchise wrapped earlier this year and was expected to air in 2010, according to the Associated Press. A spokesman for the network told the AP that no decision about the show's future had been made.

Jenkins, who was one of 17 bachelors competing for the affection of former Rock of Love contestant Megan Hauserman on Megan Wants a Millionaire, is suspected in the murder of Jasmine Fiore, his ex-wife and former bikini model. VH1 Pulls Reality Show as Contestant's Murder Manhunt Hits Canada
Megan may want a millionaire, but VH1 doesn't want a man possibly to blame for killing his wife on its airwaves. Go figure. The manhunt for the cable-created reality star turned "person of interest" Ryan Alexander Jenkins—wanted, so far, for nothing more than questioning in the murder of his model wife—turned international this morning. Washington state sheriff's officials are saying it's possible the millionaire Canadian somehow snuck back across the border. Murder Most Foul on 'Megan Wants a Millionaire'?
Here's another tale of reality television gone awry.  Real estate developer Ryan Alexander Jenkins, one of Megan Hauserman's suitors on VH1's Megan Wants a Millionaire, is a suspect in  the murder of swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore.

The police are currently hoping to question Jenkins, listed as a "person of interest" in the murder, as he is the victim's supposed boyfriend/husband.  The two met on the Strip in Las Vegas, shortly after the guy's elimination from Megan Wants a Millionaire.  They were married in March, a couple of days after their first encounter.

Jasmine Fiore, 28, was discovered strangled and stuffed in a suitcase in Orange County California on Saturday morning.

Ryan Jenkins, 32, disappeared after reporting her missing later that day, and is being treated by cops as a "person of interest" amid allegations their marriage was on the rocks and Fiore planned to leave him, reports TMZ.com.

The Canadian businessman recently appeared on VH1 show Megan wants a Millionaire, where he battled for the affections of blonde model Megan Hauserman.
