Biography

Lauren Katherine Shanklin (Katie)was born in Silver Spring, Maryland in 1994. She has 2 older brothers Scott and Christopher and one older sister, Shannon. She is currently (Spring 2011) a Junior at St John's Catholic Prep in Frederick, MD. She has a Golden Retriever Lilly, a Humane Society rescue puppy Honey and a cat named Daisy. She started singing and acting before she could talk and sings for hours every day. She has enjoyed acting in school plays and she sings in the school talent show each year.

The opportunity to be in the Movie Psych 9 was a wonderful experience. Katie traveled to Prague for 3 weeks in December 2006 for filming. She enjoyed working with each of the actors the directors and crew. It was hard to drag her away from the set as she was fascinated with every detail. Marielle and Andrew Shortell (The Movie's Director and his wife) were wonderful to her and she felt like a star. It was a fabulous experience and the education of the travel in Europe and on the set was amazing.

She continues to pursue her dream to be an actress and model and is currently working with a runway coach to work on her walk for the upcoming Fashion for Paws Runway Show as well as Sweet Charity's Chocolate Fashion Show.
