Another enticing British drama is ready to hit the BBC, with actor, novelist, and screenwriter Tony Schumacher's The Cage finally releasing new details. As cited on Radio Times, the series, starring Gavin & Stacey's Sheridan Smith and Being Human's Michael Socha, is set in a Liverpool casino and will feature a twisting tale of criminal thrills and spills. BBC Studios & Blink Anime-Inspired Series

BBC Studios Kids & Family is developing a new anime-inspired series for 8-12-year-olds – the primary title in its first-look deal with Blink Industries. Children Vs Battle SuperStars [working title] is a 22 x 22′ kids’ martial arts tournament series set in a fantastical modern-day world. Inspired by the classics of the genre, it explores the comical fallout as ordinary kids come up against the extraordinary battle ‘Super Stars’. It has been created by animation duo Remus Buznea and Kyriaki (Kiki) Kyriakou who are behind hits such as Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty. The project is the first to come out of the two year, first-look deal that BBC Studios Kids & Family struck last year with Blink Industries. They are set to produce the series.

The Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skullactor will lead God of the Rodeo as prison inmate Buckkey, who is serving a life sentence in the real-life Angola Prison (also known as the Louisiana State Penitentiary). Angola earned the reputation as the"Alcatraz of the South" due to numerous violent clashes between inmates and guards since its founding in the 1840s as a slave plantation.

Whatever you think about Shia Labeouf, his intensity and commitment is unquestionable, and he's not afraid to be outspoken. Labeouf's interesting career path was diverted among a variety of scandals and allegations, and you could hardly call it a comeback when he returned in 2023 with the film Padre Pio. Which is a shame, because he gives a great performance, and Abel Ferrara always creates fascinating films. It was perhaps just too niche a movie to give the former Transformers star the spotlight again. That likely won't change with his next movie, Salvable, which recently released its first trailer. A new report from Deadline revealed the first look at Labeouf in the upcoming boxing crime drama Salvable. He will star alongside Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and James Cosmo in a cast that also includes Kila Lord Cassidy, Elaine Cassidy, Michael Socha, Aiysha Hart, Nell Hudson, and Barry Ward. Kebbell will play a boxer beyond his prime years battling major regret, who gets the chance at a big break when a friend, Vince (Labeuof), introduces him to the world of illegal boxing.

The 31st edition of London’s Raindance Film Festival will open with the U.K. premiere of British actor Jack Huston’s directorial debut “Day of the Fight.”

The film comes to Raindance fresh off its Venice debut, where Huston was honored by Variety as a breakthrough director.

The story of a once-renowned boxer who takes a redemptive journey through his past and present on the day of his first fight since he left prison stars Michael Pitt alongside a cast including Ron Perlman, Joe Pesci, and a cameo from Steve Buscemi.

The U.K. premiere of Isabel Coixet’s “Un Amor” will close the festival after it bows at San Sebastian. Based on Sara Mesa’s bestselling novel, Laia Costa plays a young woman who escapes her stressful life in the city and relocates to rural Spain. When she accepts a disturbing sexual proposal, it gives rise to an all-consuming and obsessive passion.
