Biography

Anthony Ma is an award-winning actor, filmmaker, and voiceover artist based in Los Angeles. As an actor, Anthony has made notable guest appearances on popular series such as Scandal (ABC) and S.W.A.T. (CBS). He garnered significant attention for his leading role in Before I Got Famous, an original comedy series on the streaming service Revry TV. Anthony was awarded Best New Actor by the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival for the rom-com indie feature Love Arcadia and Best Performance from the Sacramento Horror Film Festival for his role in the horror short, Helix. He has also appeared in Quantum Leap, This Is Us, Mom, Dear White People, NCIS: LA, The Mentalist, Castle, Shameless, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

In addition to his on-screen work, Anthony has lent his voice to a wide range of projects, from animation to English dubbing for Korean and Japanese shows, as well as video games and audio dramas. His voiceover credits include Blue Eye Samurai, Raya and the Last Dragon, Her Blue Sky, Marry My Husband, Bloodhounds, Pachinko, First Love, and many more.

His short film, Chinese Antique (2009), screened at numerous film festivals nationwide and received several audience choice awards. Anthony's feature film, Elevator (2015), filmed across Los Angeles, New York, and Japan, garnered an "Honorable Mention for Screenwriting" at the DisOrient Asian Film Festival of Oregon. His latest feature, Staycation (2018), written and directed by Sundance alum Tanuj Chopra, premiered at the final LA Film Festival and received the "LA Muse Fiction Award."

Anthony is also dedicated to his community. He co-founded and served as the Executive Director of the Taiwanese American Film Festival from 2017 to 2019, creating a platform for filmmakers to connect, celebrate, and showcase their stories.

One of Anthony's primary goals is to tell bold and unique stories that reveal the multifaceted history and culture of being Asian in America, while adding a touch of humor, contributing to a richer narrative within the film industry.
