  • Despite being a horror fanatic, his two favorite films are 'Judgment Night' (1993) and 'Duel' (1971). Horror favorites include the Halloween franchise, Friday the 13th franchise, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and Nosferatu (1922).
  • Is also a professional musician. He plays the drums, keyboards, sings, produces and is also an avid blues harmonica player.
  • Was at one point (2007) attached to Direct the 2008 Horror: 'the Pick up' starring Bill Moseley and Michael Berryman.
  • Is a fan of the British rock band 'The Who' and drummer Keith Moon is one of his heroes. He claims that it was The Who's 'Happy Jack' that made him want to be a drummer when he was 6 years old.
  • Occasionally Teaches drumming privately.
  • Has released several albums as a solo Rock/Blues artist. He writes the songs, plays drums, harmonica, keyboards and sings. Most of it produced at his own studio. He also tours solo regularly.
  • Owns a record label called Stone Sonic Records (formerly skullfire).
  • Played the drums as Keith Moon on tour for two years in Who's Next, Europe's leading tribute to 'The Who'.
  • Presents 'Nights In Rock' , a UK based Classic Rock show on the radio that goes out Five nights a week all over the world.
  • Has his own brand of Whiskey called 'Whistler's Own Honey Whiskey', named after the title character in his horror film of the same name.
  • As a musician/composer, Rusty has scored over 70 projects for film, TV and internet. Film composer Harry Manfredini said that his music is a 'Magical melding of atmosphere and minimalism that captures your ears and your imagination'.
  • Has been a guest speaker and taught film and media in several colleges.
