Brian Armstrong is a multi-Emmy winning show runner, director, producer and author, known for creating cinematic, story-driven series. He has written and directed well over a hundred hours across genres including natural history, history, tech, military and science, and is currently working on an interactive experience. In 2021 Brian earned a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Documentary Series as writer, director and show runner for Secrets of the Whales (Disney+); he led the team that pulled in three Emmys for the soap opera Penguin Town (Netflix); he helmed several commercially successful military and history series for Smithsonian; and also produced, wrote and directed numerous Shark Week shows including Bride of Jaws and the Isle of Jaws trilogy. Brian has directed major talent including Sigourney Weaver, William Shatner, Patton Oswalt, and most recently Oscar Isaac. Prior to launching Red Rock Films in 2010, Brian was a staff series producer at Nat Geo, and an on-camera current affairs journalist in Australia for 12 years.
