Biography

Born Traverse Le Goff, on the 5th of August 1983, in Johannesburg, the Republic of South Africa.

He is of French descent. His name, "Traverse" originates from the Côte d'Azur region in the south of France, and is derived from the middle Anglo-French word, "Travis" meaning to lead the way across; To cross a vast expanse in a single bound or to overcome an obstacle or adversity. More often most people simply call him "Travis." His surname "Le Goff" is an old French family name mainly found in the north-western peninsular region of Brittany, and is of occupative origin derived from a professional trade, meaning "Metal-worker" or "Blacksmith."

A native to the economic heartland of South Africa's largest city, Johannesburg, he grew up in Northcliff, on the Witwatersrand, and in Cape Town on the South African Atlantic Seaboard. As a boy he lived through some of the most significant moments in his nation's history, seeing the release of Nelson Mandela, and the dawn of a new democratic republic.

Determined, and emboldened by boyhood ambition at the age of 12, he clinched representation with the esteemed Professional Kids talent agency in 1995. Starting out from relatively humble beginnings, and coming-of-age on the stage and screen, Traverse has an established repertoire of industry-wide experience, a refined and versatile skill-set, and the same keen affection for acting that got him started.

Building a broad and diverse professional profile, he aspires to make his mark as an international screen actor.
