- One of the most revered bands of the death metal genre, Cannibal Corpse formed in Buffalo, NY in 1988 from the remnants of three other area thrash/death metal bands: Tirant Sin, Leviathan and Beyond Death. Not long after recording a demo cassette tape, which quickly circulated throughout the underground metal scene in Buffalo and beyond, the band played their 1st live show in April 1989. A rabid and loyal local following grew rapidly, eventually becoming a nationwide fan base.
