Michael Bretten, born Michael James Robert, was born in Lakewood, California. However, as a young boy and teenager, he had already began to travel the world! Michael's stepfather was in the military, which led to his early travels between the ages of 7-19, and his moving at least 11 times! Michael lived in numerous places within the United States including Virginia, Tennessee, and Southern California. Michael also has memories of living in Naples, Italy from the ages of 8-11 that exposed him to the European culture.

Michael has a two year degree in Technical Theater from Palomar College and also studied acting at Fullerton Community College. Michael continued improving his acting skills at Play House West (James Franco, Ashley Judd, Jeff Goldblum, Scott Wolf), and Private coaching with Pamela Shae, Aaron Spelling casting executive.

Michael's strong work ethic and experience started at Disneyland and Starbucks. Michael also started working on set doing stand in work part time in college. He firmly believed that this role gave him the opportunity to watch other skilled professionals so he could learn how film and TV sets really operated. Michael founded Michael Bretten Media, a TV/film production company, in 2013.

Michael's past roles as an actor in numerous films include The Artist, American East, Everybody Hates Chris and Ascension Day. He also has the starring role in his creation and production of the episodic crime drama, Loose Ends. In addition, Michael is the producer and writer of an on-line comic, Fetsoldier (Release 2015) and fantasy novel, Tails of the Old Guard (Release 2015).

Some of Michael's artistic influences come from well-known greats including: Actors Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Bradley Cooper, and George Clooney; Directors Christopher Nolan, Sam Mendes, Steven Soderbergh, Robert Altman and Greg Araki; Producers and Directors Christine Vachon and Joel Silver; and Writer Allan Ball.

Michael has always been hands-on in the film industry and in the past has worked as producer, acquisition scout, set dresser, set PA, and stand-in.

His favorite films to date are: Traffic, American Beauty, Gosford Park, The Matrix Series, Aliens, Lord of the Rings series, Kids, Boys Don't Cry, and The Artist, just to name a few.
