Jason Statham fans expecting to see the ever-popular action hero’s new collaboration with The Beekeeper director David Ayer arrive in cinemas this month will be very disappointed due to an under-the-radar delay that many missed. Levon’s Trade was originally planned for a release on January 17, but as well as undergoing a change of title, the film was also unexpectedly delayed.

Statham and Ayer delivered a hugely successful action flick with The Beekeeper early in 2024. The movie received strong reviews, a reasonably successful box office, and then an incredible streaming debut – in fact, the film is back on the Prime Video charts again after being on the platform for almost a year. This means that fans have some high expectations of the movie that will now be called A Working Man, but they will have to wait until March to see it.

The Beekeeper and action movie icon Jason Statham will reunite with director David Ayer for Levon’s Trade, with the movie now adding a whole host of familiar names and faces to the cast. As per a report by Deadline, Levon’s Trade will star David Harbour (Stranger Things), Michael Peña (Narcos: Mexico), Jason Flemyng and Arianna Rivas (The Harvest) alongside Statham, who takes the lead as a construction worker with a violent past. Principal photography on the action flick has now begun in London.

David Ayer is directing Levon’s Trade from a screenplay by none other than Sylvester Stallone, with revisions by Ayer. The project is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Chuck Dixon. The book is the first installment of the Levon Cade series, which consists of eleven novels. With so much material, this could easily be another franchise starter for Statham.

Roku has picked up a second season of “Cypher,” an FBI-themed crime drama series, for which it was the exclusive North American carrier of the first seven-episode season.

In territories outside the U.S. and Canada, the show is represented by Screen Media Ventures, which is launching it at the MipTV market this week.

“Cypher” tells the story of an FBI code-breaking specialist who discovers a secret organization’s hit list and must navigate the murky waters of loyalty and betrayal among an underground ring of hackers, assassins, and government agents spanning a global conspiracy.

Created by Mohamed Sayed Bisheer and directed by Majdi Smiri, the first season was shot in Los Angeles and produced jointly by Cairo-based Aroma Studios and United Brothers along with Los Angeles-based production companies Az Films, Thriller Films and Taiwan’s Organic Media Group.

The Roku Channel, which entered the original programming realm this year with its acquisition of shows from failed streaming startup Quibi, has slated the premiere of action drama Cypher.

The series will have its premiere on March 19 in the U.S. and Canada. Roku emphasized that the show is a licensed program, not, in its view, a true original since it was produced elsewhere and owned by a third party during production.

Still, the Roku run will be the first appearance for the seven-episode show on any domestic platform. It will be free for viewers on the Roku Channel, the ad-supported outlet that Roku recently said has reach to households with 63 million people. The channel’s viewership has doubled over the past year.

Quibi programming is expected to roll out on the Roku Channel later this year.
