‘A Working Man’ Review
Jason Statham at an event for The Beekeeper (2024)
Stars: Jason Statham, Michael Peña, David Harbour, Jason Flemyng, Merab Ninidze, Maximilian Osinski, Cokey Falkow, Noemi Gonzalez, Arianna Rivas, Isla Gie, Emmett J Scanlan, Eve Mauro | Written by David Ayer, Sylvester Stallone | Directed by David Ayer

Directed by David Ayer and co-written by Ayer and Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man attempts to balance the rough, working-class world with brutal, high-stakes action. While it delivers on its promise of hard-hitting fights and suspense, it struggles to offer much beyond the standard revenge-thriller formula.

The story follows Levon Cade (Jason Statham) as he reluctantly leaves behind his peaceful life to track down a dangerous human trafficking ring. Along the way, he faces off against a string of ruthless criminals, including Russian mobsters and outlaw biker gangs. His relentless pursuit is driven by both a moral obligation and an unshakable instinct to protect. It’s a familiar setup, and while it provides plenty of action,...

"I Wanted a Film Where We Could See Him Smile": David Ayer Brings a New Version of Jason Statham to 'A Working Man'
Image
When you think of Jason Statham, you think of high-octane action, cold-blooded revenge, and a whole lot of punching people in the face. But in A Working Man, David Ayer wanted to give audiences a different side of the action superstar — one that lets him smile, connect, and embrace a family dynamic in a way rarely seen in his filmography. The result? A grittier, more emotionally resonant thriller that still delivers all the hard-hitting action that fans expect.

For Ayer and Statham, that's a striking departure from Statham’s usual lone-wolf persona. While his characters occasionally have loved ones in the background — maybe a daughter in distress or a fallen comrade to avenge — his roles rarely allow for the warmth and connection that Ayer was determined to explore, as the director explained to Collider's Steve Weintraub in an interview ahead of the movie's release later this month. He said:...

Where to Watch ‘A Working Man’: Is Jason Statham’s New Revenge Movie Streaming?
Image
Jason Statham is back to make yet another case for his place atop the current, disappointingly uncrowded B-Movie Star mountain. The actor has kept busy as of late by starring at least once a year in an entertaining, usually well-received mid-budget action thriller, and 2025 is no exception to that trend. He is the star of this week’s “A Working Man,” a new vigilante thriller that should not only satisfy fans of last year’s “The Beekeeper” but also marks a behind-the-scenes reunion between that film’s star and director.

Here is how, when and where you can watch “A Working Man.”

When does “A Working Man” come out?

“A Working Man” premieres Friday, March 28.

Is “A Working Man” streaming or in theaters?

“A Working Man” is currently only playing in theaters. If it turns out to be as successful at the box office as “The Beekeeper” was last year,...

'A Working Man' Review: Jason Statham at His Physical Peak
Image
Jason Statham and director David Ayer give vile human traffickers a brutal comeuppance in A Working Man, a bone-crushing actioner that delivers exactly what audiences expect.Sylvester Stallone adapts the script from the novel Levon's Trade by Chuck Dixon, the first in a popular series of 12 books. Can you smell the franchise cooking? A Working Man is chock-full of archetypal characters with the requisite damsel in distress, loathsome villains, and a butt-kicking hero unfairly maligned for trying to do the right thing against daunting odds. There are honestly not many surprises, but you'll walk out of the theater sufficiently entertained.

Levon Cade (Jason Statham) works diligently as the construction foreman for the Garcia family. The former Royal Marine Commando has ostensibly settled for a peaceful life with his young daughter, Merry (Isla Gie). She lives with her grieving maternal grandfather, who blames Cade for his daughter's passing. Joe Garcia (Michael Peña) and his wife,...

‘A Working Man’ Review: Jason Statham in David Ayer’s Formulaic but Effective Actioner
Image
Things aren’t going very well for Jason Statham’s character in the actor’s new action vehicle. He’s sleeping in his car, desperately in need of funds for the legal fees necessary to secure custody of his young daughter (Isla Gie) from her grandfather. And although he has a solid job as a construction foreman, trouble always seems to come his way, as when he’s forced to reveal his tremendous fighting skills when a gang of toughs show up to threaten one of his workers.

“You didn’t see anything,” he tells his boss’ daughter Jenny (Arrianna Rivas) after she witnesses him in action and guesses correctly that he’s no mere working man, despite the film’s title.

Not long afterward, Jenny goes to a local bar and winds up missing. Her distraught parents (Michael Peña, Noemi Gonzalez), aware of their employee’s elite military past,...

‘A Working Man’ Review: For Jason Statham, Revenge Is a Dish Served Dead Behind the Eyes
Image
Jason Statham’s Levon Cade isn’t just a simple “working man.” Sure, he’s putting in the sweat equity as a foreman at his friend Joe’s (Michael Peña) construction company, but it’s not long into David Ayer’s film before we learn of his past as a highly trained and decorated member of the British military. Full of close-ups of bullets, dog tags, helmets, and British and American flags, the opening credits serve up a barrage of images of military fetishization, only for the film to leave us with the realization that Levon’s service was underappreciated.

Not only is Levon blamed by his rich ex-father-in-law (Richard Heap) for the death of his mother—she committed suicide while he was serving overseas—but his lawyers suggest that his untreated Ptsd will make it difficult for him to get custody of his daughter (Isla Gie). The notion of...

‘A Working Man’ Review: Jason Statham Battles Russian Mob In Familiar Violent Action Vehicle
Image
With a Jason Statham-starring movie you know upfront what to expect. A Working Man is no different. In fact, I don’t know why they bother to give these movies titles. Just call it Jason Statham and put a number after that for all the inevitable sequels.

A Working Man seems set up to start a franchise for Statham in which he plays Levon Cade, a former Royal Guard soldier now working as a blue collar Chicago construction worker who is trying to be a good family man grieving the loss of his wife and attempting to get custody of their daughter, Merry (Isla Gie) whose grandfather is attempting to take away from Levon. This film is based on the book Levon’s Trade by Chuck Dixon who has 12 books in all, fashioned after the character. Director David Ayer teams again with Statham after last year’s successful violent actioner,...

The first reactions to Jason Statham and David Ayer’s A Working Man say it’s pure ’80s-style action with an absurd body count
Image
If action movies from the ’80s get your blood pumping, you’ll want to pay attention to the hype behind David Ayer and Jason Stathams latest cinematic beat-down, A Working Man. The first reactions to the duo’s latest display of one-man-army madness are making the rounds on social media. From the look of things, we’ve got many reasons to get excited about Statham’s latest showcase of badassery and body-sending one-liners.

According to JoBlo’s Editor-in-Chief, Chris Bumbray, A Working Man is a “campy B-movie blast” that starts off low-key but quickly ramps up with demented madness.

A Working Man is a campy B-movie blast. Statham kills hundreds. Stallone’s script is eighties-style madness (a compliment) and Ayer’s direction is on point. Similar to Beekeeper in that it starts low key and gets more demented (gloriously so) as it goes on.

A Working Man Clip Reveals Brutal Sneak Peek at Jason Statham's Newest Action Movie
Image
A clip from Jason Statham's soon-to-debut A Working Man has arrived. It showcases one of the brutal, bone-breaking fights audiences can expect from the action movie, which hits theaters this March.

The trailer features Statham's character, Levon Cade, in a fierce brawl with a gang after refusing to confirm he is not a law enforcement agent. The popular Irish band The Dropkick Murphy's The Boys Are Back plays over the exhilarating sequence as Cade breaks a few bones and bashes a couple of heads in. Impressed by Cade, the gang leader halts the violence and shakes their assailant's battle-worn hand, which reassures him Cade is not a cop. "You're a working man," he declares.

The Beekeeper Director Shares New Look at Jason Statham in Their Next Action Movie

Jason Statham is one of the most beloved and successful action heroes. With several projects a year, the actor is set to reunite again with the director of 2024's The Beekeeper.

Following the success of the 2024 action film, Statham teamed up again with David Ayer for a new action movie. The upcoming project is titled A Working Man, which bears several similarities with The Beekeeper, as Statham plays Levon Cade, a character who seems a regular construction worker, but hides a past that includes a military career in the black ops. A Working Man: Jason Statham Is A One-Man Wrecking Crew In First Trailer For David Ayer's New Action Thriller
Image
Amazon MGM has released the action-packed first trailer for A Working Man, which stars Jason Statham as a seemingly average, blue-collar construction site employee who happens to be a one-man wrecking crew himself.

Directed by David Ayer, A Working Man is based on the 2014 novel Levon's Trade (the film's original title) by Chuck Dixon, and follows Statham's former black ops agent attempting to lead a peaceful life working as his friend's foreman.

When his boss's teenage daughter is kidnapped by human traffickers, Levon - armed with a sledgehammer and an ear-shattering American accent - is forced to use his old set of skills to track her down while uncovering a criminal conspiracy.

Thunderbolts* star David Harbour also features as a blind archer (someone's read Mark Millar's Old Man Logan).

"Jason was amazing to work with," said Ayer of his leading man in a recent interview with Screen Rant. "It's interesting because he's an athlete,...

A Working Man Trailer: Jason Statham Kicks Ass In David Ayer’s Sylvester Stallone Written Thriller

Boasting a screenplay co-written by Ayer alongside action icon Sylvester Stallone, this one — surely the second in what will come to be known as The Three (Blue) Collars Trilogy — sees Stath play brilliantly named ex-black ops agent Levon Cade, whose humble construction worker life is upended when his boss' daughter goes missing. If it sounds like an old-school action dust-up waiting to happen, then it looks like one too — and a darn tasty one at that. Just check out the trailer below:

‘A Working Man’ Trailer: Jason Statham Comes Back for One Last Job in David Ayer’s Throwback Action Thriller
Image
“Jason Statham Becomes One of the Most Reliable Action Stars of the 2020s” might not have been on anyone’s bingo card of film industry predictions at the end of 2019, but it appears to be shaping out that way.

The “Transporter” star has enjoyed a career renaissance in recent years, leading the 2023 shark sequel “Meg 2: The Trench” to nearly $400 million at the global box office before teaming up with David Ayer for the ridiculous (and ridiculously fun) action thriller “The Beekeeper.” Now, Amazon MGM hopes that the pairing of Ayer and Statham can produce even more box office gold after with reunion movie “A Working Man.”

Adapted from veteran comic book writer Chuck Dixon’s 2014 novel “Levon’s Trade,” “A Working Man” is co-written by Ayer and Sylvester Stallone. With those kinds of legacy connections to the action genre on both sides of the camera, it should come as a...

A Working Man Trailer Reunites Jason Statham With The Beekeeper Director For More High-Octane Action
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Jason Statham, not one to spend a lot of time not kicking ass, is back with another ass-kicking action flick. Amazon MGM has released the first trailer for "A Working Man," which was previously going under the title of "Levon's Trade." The big appeal here is that Statham has reunited with director David Ayer, who was at the helm of last year's actioner "The Beekeeper." Apparently, that collaboration went well, as evidenced by this reunion. Check out the trailer above.

"A Working Man" is based on the book "Levon's Trade" by author Chuck Dixon. Not to get too ahead of ourselves here, but this is also just the first book in a series of Levon Cade books, meaning we could be looking at a franchise here, if all goes well. It's not unlike Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" books, which...

Jason Statham Hunts for Missing Teen in Trailer for ‘A Working Man’ From Writer Sylvester Stallone
Image
Jason Statham is in pursuit of a missing teenage girl in the trailer for the thriller movie A Working Man.

Director David Ayer’s action feature is set for wide theatrical release from Amazon MGM Studios on March 28. Rounding out the cast are Michael Peña, David Harbour, Jason Flemyng, Merab Ninidze, Maximilian Osinski, Cokey Falkow, Noemi Gonzalez, Arianna Rivas, Emmett J. Scanlan and Eve Mauro.

A Working Man centers on Levon Cade (Statham), a former black ops agent who has turned to a simpler life of working construction. When his boss’ daughter goes missing, Levon’s mission to find her plunges him into a world of corruption.

“This isn’t just some kidnapping,” Statham says in the trailer. “This is human trafficking.” Later, he declares, “Gangs, the Mob, corrupt government officials — they’re all involved in human trafficking.”

At one point, Levon’s friend, played by Harbour, offers his own...

A Working Man Trailer Reveals Jason Statham's New Action Movie Releasing In March
Image
A Working Man gets its first trailer, revealing more about the upcoming Jason Statham action thriller. Directed by David Ayer, the new movie marks another collaboration for Ayer and Statham after The Beekeeper, which was a surprise hit at the beginning of 2024. A Working Man stars Statham as Levon Cade, a former black ops soldier who has given up his violent ways for a life as a construction worker. When his boss' daughter is kidnapped, however, he sets out to rescue her, uncovering corruption at every turn.

Amazon MGM Studios now shares the first trailer for A Working Man, teasing another action-packed Statham adventure. The trailer provides a better look at the movie's impressive supporting cast, which includes Michael Peña as Levon's boss and David Harbour as Gunny, Levon's blind former special forces companion. As is to be expected with a Statham movie, the trailer also highlights that there will be plenty of action,...

Jason Statham's 'Levon's Trade/A Working Man' is Not Being Released Until March
Image
Jason Statham fans expecting to see the ever-popular action hero’s new collaboration with The Beekeeper director David Ayer arrive in cinemas this month will be very disappointed due to an under-the-radar delay that many missed. Levon’s Trade was originally planned for a release on January 17, but as well as undergoing a change of title, the film was also unexpectedly delayed.

Statham and Ayer delivered a hugely successful action flick with The Beekeeper early in 2024. The movie received strong reviews, a reasonably successful box office, and then an incredible streaming debut – in fact, the film is back on the Prime Video charts again after being on the platform for almost a year. This means that fans have some high expectations of the movie that will now be called A Working Man, but they will have to wait until March to see it.

A Working Man sees Statham teaming up with...

Jason Statham & David Ayer's New Movie 'Levon's Trade' Gets a New Title
Image
Jason Statham and David Ayer had a lot of success with their 2024 film The Beekeeper, which had a great supporting cast, fun action, and just the right amount of silliness mixed into its kickassery. It seems like Statham and Ayer are set to have back-to-back hits, if the cast, writers, and description for their new film is any indication. Previously called Levon's Trade, their action movie just got a new title and an official release date.

Now called A Working Man, Ayer and Sylvester Stallone wrote the script, based off the book Levon’s Trade by Chuck Dixon. In addition to Statham, the film stars Jason Flemyng, Merab Ninidze, Maximilian Osinski, Cokey Falkow, Michael Peña, David Harbour, Noemi Gonzalez, Arianna Rivas, Emmett J. Scanlan, and Eve Mauro. This will be the fifth Jason Statham film and performance written by Stallone, who created his Lee Christmas character for The Expendables and wrote Statham's very underrated 2013 film,...

‘Black Noise’ VOD’ Review
Image
Stars: Wayne Gordon, Sadie Newman, Eve Mauro, Jackson Rathbone, Alex Pettyfer, Niki Spiridakos | Written by Sean-Michael Argo, Leigh Scott | Directed by Philippe Martinez

Black Noise is the latest film to follow in the footsteps of Predator and takes a group of highly trained professional soldiers and sends them to a remote location on what should be a simple mission only for it to turn into a battle with something beyond their comprehension. Earlier this year Island Escape added a few twists to make it feel fresh, can Black Noise pull off the same feat?

A large man, uniformed and armed, flees through a Carribean rainforest. Whatever he’s running from must be dangerous, his uniform is torn and he’s battered, bloody, and panicked to the point of shooting at moving foliage. Reaching a house he sees a quad parked in the yard, just what he needs to escape. But...

Black Noise Review | A Disastrous Climax Torpedoes Narrative
Image
Elite security contractors sent to rescue a billionaire on a remote island hear a strange sound with devastating consequences. Black Noise utterly disappoints by not delivering a climactic payoff after better than expected rising action. The straightforward narrative draws from common sci-fi and horror themes with initial success. Characters stuck in a dangerous setting are plucked off while trying to unmask a mysterious threat. There's something freaky going on. Let's find it and unload every weapon in the arsenal. We get the death and gunplay but no concrete answers. A befuddling finale leaves you in the lurch.

A wounded security guard (Gene Freeman) runs through a tropical jungle in abject fear. He reaches civilization and sees an Atv. His hope for escape evaporates as he faces a bizarre demise. Meanwhile, on the island of Saint Martin, Ryan (Wayne Gordon) dances provocatively with Leila (Sadie Newman). Sarah (Eve Mauro) laughs as...

Roku Follows Quibi Deal By Slating Premiere Of Action Drama ‘Cypher’
Image
The Roku Channel, which entered the original programming realm this year with its acquisition of shows from failed streaming startup Quibi, has slated the premiere of action drama Cypher.

The series will have its premiere on March 19 in the U.S. and Canada. Roku emphasized that the show is a licensed program, not, in its view, a true original since it was produced elsewhere and owned by a third party during production.

Still, the Roku run will be the first appearance for the seven-episode show on any domestic platform. It will be free for viewers on the Roku Channel, the ad-supported outlet that Roku recently said has reach to households with 63 million people. The channel’s viewership has doubled over the past year.

Quibi programming is expected to roll out on the Roku Channel later this year.

Cypher stars Martin Dingle Wall as an FBI cryptanalyst who deciphers a coded...

The seven-episode hour-long show, from Cairo-based Aroma Studios and United Bros., will be available to Roku Channel viewers for free. All episodes will drop simultaneously in binge-friendly fashion.

It’s just the beginning of a big slate exclusive content coming to the Roku Channel, which the company said doubled its U.S. audience to 61.8 million in the fourth quarter. Roku acquired global rights to more than 75 of original shows from Quibi, the startup headed by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman that went belly-up six months after launch. Roku plans to add the Quibi lineup,...

‘Agent Revelation’ Review
Image
Stars: Derek Ting, Michael Dorn, Kayla Ewell, Carole Weyers, Eve Mauro, Chris Reid, Terrance Christopher Jones, Marikah Cunningham, Matthew Ryan Burnett, Ted Briones, Maxine Bahns, Eric Mark, Cory Tucker | Written and Directed by Derek Ting

Have you ever wondered what happened to Michael Dorn after Star Trek? Me too! He’s in Agent Revelation…

Agent Revelation kicks off with some brilliant B-movie direction, approaching a house in the desert (and some sheep). Before we know what is happening, two middle aged men are chasing each other, while our B movie director does his best to make it look dynamic and exciting (he fails). Before we know what is happening. One of them is CGI effect, vomiting some blood onto the other one and some special forces types are then running him down.

We are in the future, with some sci-fi effects and some ripe acting. I do not want to...
