Before kids got into Stephen King, Scholastic Book Fairs introduced them to the tween horror maestro: R.L. Stine. The author's best known for his "Goosebumps" books, an anthology series where each book introduced a new horror for some intrepid young protagonist to confront. Werewolves, mud monsters, and Slappy the dummy, the last of whom Stine never understood the fanbase for, all gave us nightmares. But hey, at least we were reading!

"Goosebumps" is far from Stine's only enterprise, as he's also the visionary behind the "Fear Street" and "Mostly Ghostly" books, too. It should come as no surprise that many of his works have been adapted into films and TV shows over the years. Some you've undoubtedly heard of before while others will make you go, "Wait, that's an R.L. Stine project?"

Nickelodeon Studios has dropped a brand-new trailer and first-look photos for its eagerly anticipated Thundermans spinoff series. Thundermans: Undercover, which began filming last August, will premiere at 7pm on Nickelodeon on January 22.

The trailer, first-look images, and premiere details arrive via Variety. Thundermans: Undercover focuses primarily on Kira Kosarin as Phoebe, Jack Griffo as Max, and Maya Le Clark as Chloe. Per Nickelodeon, the series "will follow Phoebe and Max, who are sent undercover to handle a new threat in the seaside town of Secret Shores and bring Chloe (Maya Le Clark) along to develop her superhero talent." In the first episode, "Thundercover," Phoebe and Max receive a new mission in their hi-tech beach home base, where their superhero identities remain a secret. They bring Chloe along to help her have a normal life, but the trio must stop the threats of Secret Shores and the true supervillain called Mastermind.

Phoebe, Chloe and Max are back in action in Nickelodeon’s spinoff series The Thundermans: Undercover, which will premiere Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7/6c, TVLine has learned. You can watch a full trailer above.

The half-hour episodes will air weekly on Wednesdays at 7 pm, and will follow the original characters from the live-action series. Paramount+’s “iCarly” revival may be another oft-touted example of repackaged IP for these nostalgia-driven times. But stars Miranda Cosgrove and Nathan Kress see it as both an homage to the beloved Nickelodeon original and its fans, as well as an exercise in “realism” rather than plain fanfare.

“We’ve gone through our early to mid-20s, and we’re heading into our 30s and that’s freaky,” Kress, who plays Freddie, told TheWrap. “We’re able to use that as a basis for realism in this entire show, and I think, fortunately, that’s what made it relatable to our audience because they were growing up right there with us. We weren’t just trying to stay in this box of, ‘We’re a kids show so we’re gonna stay forever youthful and naive and just happy all the time.’”

Sometimes it just takes one actor to be starring in a movie, and in particular, a horror movie, for me to give it a chance. This was the case with Room For Rent which has the brilliant Lin Shaye in the lead role.

Lin Shaye is best known by horror fans for her roles in the Insidious movies, including being the lead and focus of the fourth movie in the franchise – Insidious: The Last Key. Though personally I loved her performance in the under seen dark comedy horror Dead End. Now, as a bit of a genre legend, I will give anything a watch if I know she has a decent role. Insidious actress Lin Shaye has got a new movie coming out called Room for Rent. It’s a thriller in which we see her descend into obsession and madness as she becomes infatuated with a young man who moves into her house.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

Lonely widow Joyce (Lin Shaye) rents out a room to make easy money. She meets mysterious drifter Bob (Oliver Rayon) and takes him in as a long-term tenant. She becomes obsessed with her much younger guest, making him the object of her deepest romantic fantasies. When a friend's betrayal derails Joyce’s fantasy world, she seizes control of her own destiny with a deadly mission to finally get what she deserves.

While this doesn’t look like it’s going to be a good film, I’m sure that there’s an audience out there that will enjoy the story it tells.

Mending Kids held “Imagine,” its seventh annual Wings Gala & Awards Ceremony on Thursday, February 21, at 6 pm at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

The event was sponsored by the Cusumano Family Foundation. Los Angeles-based theatrical distributor In8 Releasing has announced it will make its distribution debut with the Hal Linden-Ryan Ochoa drama, “The Samuel Project,” Variety has learned exclusively.

The independent company will open the film theatrically in New York on Sept. 28, followed by a limited national engagement in over 25 markets, including Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.

“The Samuel Project” is directed and produced by In8 founders Marc Fusco and Steve Weinberger, respectively. The film follows a high school senior, played by Ochoa, who dreams of becoming an artist and makes his grandfather, a dry cleaner portrayed by Linden, the subject of an animated art project. In the process, he discovers that when his Jewish grandpa was a boy in Germany, a young woman heroically saved him from Nazi capture.

Shooter star and former husband of Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Phillippe has found himself in the hot seat this week. The actor has never had a great reputation when it comes to his anger. Now, a former girlfriend is claiming he abused her quite severely, going as far as to file a lawsuit against the Cruel Intentions star.

Model Elsie Hewitt filed a lawsuit against Phillippe this past Monday. And the allegations she has made against him are pretty damaging. She claims the actor kicked her, punched her, and eventually threw her down a flight of stairs. The suit filed by the 21 year old struggling actress had this to say.

[Ryan Phillippe] grabbed [her] upper arm so tightly that his grip left heavy bruises on her arm hours later. He then braced his body and threw her down his staircase as hard as he could."

Ryan Phillippe‘s ex-girlfriend Elsie Hewitt filed a lawsuit on Monday alleging he kicked her, punched her and threw her down a flight of stairs.

Hewitt, 21, claimed in the suit that the actor “grabbed upper arm so tightly that his grip left heavy bruises on her arm hours later. He then braced his body and threw her down his staircase as hard as he could.”

This title courted controversy, when it was associated with the Elliot Rdoger crime spree. Since 2015, the film has acquired a July release date. Children Mending Hearts (Cmh), a national charity organization based in Los Angeles, will join 12 Las Vegas-based child advocacy groups to host its third installment of the traveling workshop, Please Mr. President, in Las Vegas, Nv on Saturday, September 25th.

This activity-filled event will host more than 1000 at-risk children and teens, who will enjoy an afternoon of arts, crafts, food and fun, and special performances by The Fulcos and Kristy Kay alongside some of their favorite young stars, including Tate Donovan (The Oc), Corbin Bleu (High School Musical), Josie Loren (Make It or Break It), Ryan Ochoa (iCarly), Chris Massey (Zoey 101), and Le Reve performers, as well as Francia Raisa (Secret Life of the American Teenager), Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group performers who are tentatively scheduled to appear.

Hitting the yellow carpet rolled out in front of the Nokia Theater on Sunday afternoon, June 27, the leading lady of "iCarly" opted to wear a little black dress and a loose hairdo when attending the special screening event.

The brunette beauty wasn't the only young star coming to the special screening event. Her fellow voice actresses, Elsie Fisher and Dana Gaier, as well as other cast members including Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Jack McBrayer and Mindy Kaling were also seen posing on the yellow carpet.

In anticipation to the U.S. release of "Despicable Me" on July 9, Universal Pictures has held a premiere for the movie. Taking place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 27, the event made use of minions as the theme as it rolled out yellow carpet and displayed figures of the Gru's army.

Steve Carell who provides his voice for Gru was seen coming in a striped suit. Miranda Cosgrove, Elsie Fisher and Dana Gaier, who voice three little girls seeing Gru as their potential father, were captured posing side by side. In 1957 a group of mostly poor kids from the industrial city of Monterrey, Mexico shocked pundits when they reached the Little League World Series. They had grown up playing baseball on a dirt field, using a handmade ball and gloves fashioned from scraps. Smaller and weighing much less than their opponents, the underdog team was not expected to advance beyond their opening game. But on August 23, 1957 their pitcher Angel Macias pitched what remains the only perfect game in a Little League World Series final, and Monterrey defeated the team from La Mesa, CA, to become the first team from outside the United States to win the Little League World Series.

The highly versatile actor talks about his role in the film based off the wonderful true story

Clifton Collins Jr. had one hell of a year in 2009, appearing in a vast array of films portraying vastly different characters such as Star Trek, The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, Brothers and Extract, just to name a few. He's back this year with a starring role in the true-story sports film The Perfect Game, which was released in theaters this past weekend. I've talked with Collins several times over the past year and it's always great to get a chance to speak with him, as he is truly one of my favorite actors working in the biz today. We spoke for so long, in fact, that I'll be splitting the interview into two parts, this part where he talks about this new film and the second part where he discusses the new projects on the horizon.

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Disney Xd has placed a series order for the live-action pilot Pair of Kings. The show is slated to begin production in March for a fall premiere. It stars Mitchel Musso (Hannah Montana) and Doc Show (House of Payne) as 16-year-old fraternal twins. These two "are typical teenagers in Chicago raised by their aunt and uncle until they find out that they are heirs to the throne of the island of Kinkou; they relocate there to become kings." Also in the cast are Geno Segers as the Royal Secretary, Kelsey Chow as his daughter and Ryan Ochoa as their angry cousin and wannabe king.

A few days ago, I mentioned on my Facebook page that I was extremely excited to be interviewing a favorite actor of mine, Clifton Collins Jr. I was also rather dismayed that there were many friendo's of mine out there who didn't know who he was, by name anyway. Some would recognize him when I mentioned he was the homosexual hitman in the critically-acclaimed film Traffic, or the crazy drug dealer in the equally-underrated The Rules Of Attraction (which is one of my favorite performances of his), some recognize him as the confused killer Perry Smith in Capote, a performance that some think is just as Oscar-worthy as Phillip Seymour Hoffman's Oscar-winning portrayal of Truman Capote. Less than a week from its debut in U.S. theaters, "Seven Pounds" rolled down red carpet in Los Angeles for its premiere celebration. Held at Mann Village Theatre in Westwood on Tuesday, December 16, the special screening event was highlighted with the streaming in of many Hollywood celebrities.

From the cast ensemble, Will Smith, Rosario Dawson, Woody Harrelson, Michael Ealy, Madison Pettis, Barry Pepper, Ryan Ochoa and Sarah Jane Morris were all seen attending the event. Joining them on the evening were the movie's crew, including director Gabriele Muccino and producers Steve Tisch and Todd Black.
