Psychological Horror ‘Lake Vernon’ Adds Vernon Davis, Tommy Wiseau, and More to Cast
Vernon Davis
Filming is underway in Louisiana on the new psychological horror movie Lake Vernon, and Variety has announced the cast this morning.

Former NFL star turned filmmaker Vernon Davis (The Ritual Killer) produces and stars in the film alongside Malcolm Goodwin (“Reacher”), David Anders (“The Vampire Diaries”), Olivia Grace Applegate (“Love and Death”), Andrea Sixtos (“Arrow”) and Tommy Wiseau (Big Shark).

Not only does Davis star and produce, but Lake Vernon is adapted from a story by Davis and Tiffany Toney. The story was adapted for the screen by director Aaron Jay Rome and writer/producer Isaiah Laborde.

In the film, “Old wounds resurface when a fractured group of friends reunites for a weekend retreat at an exclusive lakeside sanctuary,” the film’s official logline reads. “As buried tensions and unspoken betrayals bubble to the surface, the lake itself seems to be listening — watching — offering impossible miracles at a cost none of them understand.

Tommy Wiseau’s ‘Big Shark’ Rated “PG-13” for “Bloody Creature Violence”; Children’s Book Available Now
Image
It’s been a big wait for Big Shark.

Tommy Wiseau first announced the project as his long-awaited follow-up to the cult hit The Room back in 2019. It finally premiered in 2023, but it’s been unavailable outside of a handful of screenings.

A wider theatrical release seems to be in the works, however, as the film has received a PG-13 rating from the MPA for “bloody creature violence and some strong language.”

Interestingly, the Class and Rating Administration bulletin notes that the film is animated. It’s likely an error, as the previously released trailer below is very much live-action (sans the CG shark), but we’re looking into it.

In addition to writing, directing, and producing, Wiseau stars alongside Isaiah Laborde and Mark Valeriano. They play firefighters tasked with saving New Orleans from a gigantic shark.

The eccentric filmmaker will appear in-person for Big Shark screenings at The Landmark Westwood in Los Angeles,...

‘The Room’ Auteur Tommy Wisseau is Finally Back With a New Movie, ‘Big Shark’
Image
After 20 long years, The Room auteur Tommy Wiseau is back with a new narrative feature film Big Shark — and you better believe it’s got an extremely big shark in it.

For those anxious to see if the man behind one of the strangest cult classics in film history still has what it takes to delight and confuse audiences in equal measure, the new Big Shark trailer should offer plenty of hope. The clip starts as a classic heart-pumping action movie, with an intense boxing sequence and big text graphics...

Tommy Wiseau Shares Trailer for Big Shark, First Movie Since The Room: Watch
Image
The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Tommy Wiseau has directed his first feature film since The Room, and the trailer for the project — dubbed Big Shark — is out now.

Per Variety, Big Shark follows New Orleans firefighters Georgie, Patrick, and Tim as they attempt to save their city from the titular fishy menace. In addition to writing and directing the film, Wiseau stars alongside Isaiah Laborde and Mark Valeriano. Wonderfully, the trailer for the picture looks like it was made in iMovie, with ridiculous red text assaulting the screen over dramatic action music before its stars are seen running through the streets of Nola, where the shark inexplicably manages to chase them.

Wiseau has big plans for Big Shark. The film will debut at a Portland screening on April 2nd before hitting other markets hosted by Prytania Theatres, with the filmmaker slated to appear at each event.

Big Shark trailer: Tommy Wiseau directs his first movie since The Room
James Woods in Shark (2006)
Shark movies are a dime a dozen, especially with schlock like Jersey Shore: Shark Attack, Sand Sharks, Ghost Shark, and so much more. But what happens when Tommy Wiseau, the visionary director of The Room, takes aim at the ocean’s most fearsome predator? Tommy Wiseau has released a new trailer for Big Shark, which is somehow the first movie he’s directed since the release of The Room twenty years ago.

The Big Shark trailer cuts back and forth between shots of New Orleans with two boxers fighting in a gym, all while the text reads, “You can Run. You can Hide. But that won’t save you. The world’s most vicious hunter has come to the bayou and only wants one thing… blood.” The film stars Tommy Wiseau as Patrick, Isaiah Laborde as Tim, and Greg Sestero as Georgie, three firefighters who must save New Orleans from a killer shark.

Must See Trailer for Tommy Wiseau's Hilarious Shark Movie 'Big Shark'
Image
"You can run... You can hide... But that won't save you." Tommy Wiseau, famed director of The Room, is back!! I guess...? Maybe? A new trailer has debuted for his next feature film titled Big Shark. The second trailer for a shark movie out this week after The Black Demon, too. It's also Wiseau's only feature since The Room in 2003. The trailer launched on Variety along with a poster and info about a roadshow tour Wiseau is going on, playing the film in different cinemas around the country throughout 2023. So it will indeed be the return of Mr. Wiseau. The only simple synopsis available is: Three firefighters must save New Orleans from a shark attack. Because of course they do. It's no surprise to say that this looks like a parody film. Also a warning - the trailer ends halfway and suddenly turns into an ad for Wiesau's underwear brand - yes,...

Big Shark Trailer: Tommy Wiseau's Follow-Up To The Room Is Coming With Sharp Teeth
Image
There are few appreciators of ill-advised cinema that haven't seen "The Room," director Tommy Wiseau's so-bad-it's-legendary 2003 film that has become a true cult classic almost despite itself. It even inspired a much-acclaimed biopic in the form of A24's "The Disaster Artist," a film we called "a hilarious and sincere tribute to one of the worst films ever made." Now, a full two decades later, Wiseau is back in the director's chair for another presumably schlocky adventure. And this time, he's taking on the creature feature with a big, cheesy CGI shark flick appropriately titled "Big Shark." In even better news, we've got a trailer!

A teaser for the film first appeared online back in 2019, but now a new trailer has surfaced as the film readies for a select theatrical rollout beginning next month. According to Variety, these "Pre Premier" screenings will feature Wiseau in person and will be...

‘Big Shark’ Trailer: Tommy Wiseau Devours Cult Cinema in First Feature Since ‘The Room’
Image
Tommy Wiseau can’t jump the shark: He is the shark.

The “Room” writer-director-star (auteur?) is officially back with his first feature film in 20 years. “Big Shark,” following the craze of the B-movie “Sharknado” franchise and spinoffs, follows three firefighters as they work to save New Orleans from one massive shark.

The tagline reads: “Can New Orleans survive?”

The trailer has been playing for audiences at theatrical screenings of “The Room” for the last few months, but the official trailer is now online. “Big Shark” will begin a nationwide rollout April 2 with a debut screening at Cinema 21 in Portland, Oregon, followed by New Orleans (April 28 and 29), San Francisco (May 5 and 6), Los Angeles (June 2 and 3), and at the Village East by Angelika in New York City.

Wiseau is set to appear in person for branded “Pre Premier” screenings, with the “Official Final Cut Version” of “Big Shark” being released only after an eight-month theatrical rollout window.

Tommy Wiseau Unveils His Follow-Up Film to ‘The Room’ With ‘Big Shark’ Trailer (Exclusive)
Image
Tommy Wiseau is back behind the camera again. The director and star of “The Room” has debuted the trailer for “Big Shark,” his first follow-up feature to his trademark 2003 cult melodrama.

“Big Shark” follows three firefighters, Georgie, Patrick and Tim, as they work to save New Orleans from an attack by — you guessed it — a very big shark.

While this first look at “Big Shark” is only now being debuted online, the trailer has already been playing for audiences at theatrical screenings of “The Room” over recent months.

“Big Shark” will kick off its rollout on April 2 with a debut screening at Cinema 21 in Portland, Ore. 8 Found Dead: "Stuck in a pandemic, Travis Greene and Jonathan Buchanan stumbled upon the story of 8 Found Dead while spitballing ideas at their local coffee shop.

Using several real-life characters and situations from Travis' life, Jonathan crafted a story around the inherent drama of being held hostage by conversation, a cue taken from Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (1966) - which, along with Death Trap (1982), Funny Games (2007) and The Strangers (2008) served as inspiration for the filmmakers.

The next step was choosing a cinematographer. and the obvious choice was their friend Ryan Valdez. His unique style had always stood out and seemed perfect for 8 Found Dead."

Synopsis:

"Two couples drive to a secluded house in the desert for a weekend getaway, each with their own baggage, expectations and secrets. Upon their arrival, they are met by two strangers, claiming to have rented the house as well.

Tommy Wiseau Challenges Hollywood to Cast Him in Knives Out 2
Image
If Rian Johnson were to cast Tommy Wiseau in Knives Out 2, the world would be a better place to live. Truly a unique personality, Wiseau is best known for starring in The Room, the legendary indie movie he also wrote, directed, and produced. The story of its production was chronicled in the movie The Disaster Artist with James Franco playing the eccentric actor and filmmaker. Dave Franco co-starred as Greg Sestero, Wiseau's The Room co-star who wrote the original book version of the award-winning movie.

Fast forward to today, and Knives Out 2 is moving full steam ahead with its production at Netflix. Johnson has already started adding some big names to its cast, similar to how the original movie featured a rather impressive list of names. Some of the talent that's already been announced for the sequel include Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr.,...

Big Shark: Tommy Wiseau releases 'preposterous' trailer for follow-up to 'worst movie ever'
Fans of The Room have much to delight them in new film trailer, in which three men must save New Orleans from, yes, a big shark

Tommy Wiseau, the enigmatic creator of The Room – described as “the Citizen Kane of bad movies” – has unveiled the trailer for his follow-up, Big Shark, which Twitter is already turning into a source of deep merriment.

The new film, which appears to be about a big shark, stars Wiseau alongside his best friend and Room collaborator Greg Sestero, as well as Isaiah Laborde. They play three firefighters who must save New Orleans from said big shark.

Big Shark Poster: Can Tommy Wiseau Save New Orleans from This Great White?
Tommy Wiseau
We were treated to the Big Shark teaser over the weekend and now we have the first poster from Tommy Wiseau's upcoming horror movie. As with anything that Wiseau does, everything is pretty weird about the teaser and the poster, which is obviously part of the charm for the project. The Room director announced at a Q&A screening in Germany that he was making a shark-attack horror thriller and that it also features his old buddy and co-star Greg Sestero.

The Big Shark poster features a still image from the trailer of Greg Sestero and Isaiah Laborde pointing at something off in the distance while Tommy Wiseau looks amused. Out of the three of them, Laborde is the only one who seems like he has actually seen a giant man eating shark. Behind the actors is an image of a giant shark, like The Meg coming out of...

Tommy Wiseau in The Room (2003)
Official Big Shark Trailer Arrives: It's Tommy Wiseau Vs. Jaws
Tommy Wiseau in The Room (2003)
"Oh, hai Shark," is a giant missed opportunity in the Big Shark trailer. However, that is not to say that the first look at the horror movie from the creators of The Room is bad. It looks pretty incredible and we can't wait to see some more in the coming months. Seemingly out of nowhere, Tommy Wiseau revealed that he was working on the project about a giant killer shark and people are pretty excited to see what he comes up with this time.

The Big Shark trailer starts innocently enough with Tommy Wiseau's Room co-star Greg Sestero getting slapped in the face by two different women. It's unclear what he did to deserve this reaction, but it comes out of nowhere and it's rather uncomfortable, like the best parts of The Room. Soon after, we see Tommy Wiseau, Sestero, and Isaiah Laborde leaving the bar/club atmosphere to go somewhere else.

Big Shark Teaser Leaks: Tommy Wiseau Battles a Great White
Tommy Wiseau
After years of waiting, Tommy Wiseau has finally set his next directorial project following his infamously terrible cult classic, The Room. Wiseau will next helm and star in a giant shark movie set in New Orleans, appropriately titled Big Shark. The movie will reunite him with his The Room co-star and real-life best friend Greg Sestero. What's more is that a teaser was recently shown for the upcoming movie for the first time ever and, though the quality isn't great, it has leaked online to verify that this is, indeed, a real thing.

According to a new report, the Big Shark teaser was initially shown following a recent screening of The Room at the Prince Charles Theatre. The report notes that Tommy Wiseau has yet to shoot the movie and that this was a promotional teaser. Greg Sestero, at the Q&A, revealed that the movie will be about three...
