With 23 years behind him in Hollywood, award-winning Caribbean-based writer and art cinema filmmaker of Gullah Geechee heritage, Lazarus X (formerly Lamont Pierré) is one of the industry's hidden gems. Having worked alongside industry veterans, Lazarus has enjoyed a filmmaking career on the fringes of Hollywood taking his cues from independent-minded legends such as Oscar Micheaux and Melvin Van Peebles. Drawing his storytelling, editing and stylistic cues from European and Asian art films and foreign filmmakers such as Wong Kar Wei and Bernardo Bertolucci, Lazarus X is also a classically trained writer, student of literary giants such as James Baldwin, Zora Neale Hurston, Ernest Hemingway, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Geoffrey Chaucer.

A classically trained dramatist, Lazarus X is is a self-taught auteur. Owner of Arthouse International Studios -- an international production house and Arthouse Plus+, its accompanying streaming platform -- which showcasing his capabilities in the realm of scripted episodic featuring viral hits such as 'Red Skin', 'Ghosts of Fort Greene' and 'Someday This Pain Will Be Useful To You'. To date the platform has amassed over 60 million total views and almost 100,000 subscribers. At age 27, he self-produced and funded his feature film debut 'Talking With the Taxman About Poetry', filmed on location in Los Angeles, CA.

In 2021, Lazarus X created and produced the edgy drama series 'Wards' in New Orleans, the mini-series 'Between Blunts & Love Songs' shot in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NYC and expanded into the afro-futurist realm creating and filming the post-apocalyptic drama series 'Black Love Future, A.D.' turning the corner and setting the stage for more entries into the futurist realm.

In early 2024, Lazarus X entered the world cinema landscape filming Season 2 of his award-winning, hit art cinema series 'A Beautiful Cruel Thing' in five countries throughout Europe including Scotland, France, The Netherlands, Italy and Spain. Lazarus also successfully transitioned his production company to new headquarters in the UK in preparation for a slate of new internationally-based film and TV series projects.

Lazarus X is currently filming his new series 'Guap' in Napoli, Italy and prepping his upcoming series and feature length projects such as 'I Never Asked for Red Roses', 'Detective Naveed', 'The Lives of Men', 'Shanghai Nights' and the afrofuturist 'And Kingdoms for Broken Hearts'.

Lazarus X continues to be a daring and experimental voice in international indie filmmaking pushing cinematic boundaries with his flair for the cerebral, the artistic and the transcendent.
