Apple TV+ has announced the all-new original Peanuts musical special, Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical, premiering globally on July 18, 2025. The special features original music by Emmy Award-nominated composer Jeff Morrow and Emmy-nominated singer, songwriter, composer, and New York Times bestselling author Ben Folds.

The 40-minute special under the acclaimed “Snoopy Presents” banner by Peanuts and WildBrain for Apple TV+ marks the first Peanuts musical in 35 years.

This summer, celebrate the joy and magic of summer camp and the importance of preserving what you love. Charlie Brown loves camp and is determined to make his final year special, but Sally, a first-time camper, is nervous and skeptical of the new and unfamiliar place. Apple TV+ Sets First Peanuts Musical in 35 Years
Image
Tune up your piano, Schroeder: Apple TV+ has set its first original Peanuts musical.

Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical is the first new Peanuts musical special in 35 years. Ben Folds (of Ben Folds Five, and also the guy who composed “It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown”) will write original music for the July 18 release, as will Jeff Morrow. A Summer Musical has a 40-minute runtime.

This summer, Charlie Brown is determined to make his final year at camp special, but Sally — a noob camper — is nervous about the new and unfamiliar place. And also Snoopy and Woodstock discover a treasure map that takes them on “a wild adventure,” per Apple TV+.

Here’s some more from Apple: “One morning, the Peanuts gang learns that their beloved camp is shutting down because there are fewer campers joining each summer. The news especially saddens Charlie Brown, who feels hopeless...

10 Best Movies & TV Shows Starring Stranger Things' Young Cast Members
Image
Since 2016, the young cast members of Netflix's Stranger Things have impressed audiences with their heartfelt performances, which means there is no excuse for overlooking the actors' other amazing projects. Over the course of nearly ten years, the Duffer Brothers have crafted four (going on five) seasons of their sci-fi TV series, Stranger Things. Along with the 1980s nostalgia and thrillingly dark plot, the show is a success because of Stranger Things' talented ensemble cast. From icons like Winona Ryder to newcomers like Millie Bobby Brown, the show offers something for everyone.

Generally, the cast of Stranger Things is split up into two parts: the adult cast and the young cast. Stranger Things' young cast includes Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Noah Schnapp as Will, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas, and Sadie Sink as Max. There is also Joe Keery as Steve, Natalia Dyer as Nancy,...

‘Monster Summer’ Review
Image
Stars: Mel Gibson, Mason Reed, Nora Zehetner, Julian Lerner, Abby James Witherspoon, Lorraine Bracco, Emma Fasano, Spencer Fitzgerald, Patrick Renna | Written by Cornelius Uliano, Bryan Schulz | Directed by David Henrie

The cultural impact of the phenomenon, that is Stranger Things, cannot be understated when it comes to the world of entertainment. Launching (and relaunching) careers, genres and defunct film series. Millie Bobby Brown is a multi-millionaire film and television superstar. Winona Ryder bought Beetlejuice back from the (un)dead. And the Ghostbusters films veered from old Saturday Night Live veterans, to a teen adventure reminiscent of The Monster Squad. Monster Summer, looks to capitalise on rekindle those halcyon days of “Teens-in Peril”, and supernatural menace, that typified that particular beloved 80’s sub-genre.

Monster Summer sees a wily group of teens, investigating the strange goings-on, on their quaint island community of Mayberry, Martha’s Vineyard. Children disappear and mysteriously reappear, devoid of personality and emotion.

Monster Summer Review — Frightening Family Fun!
Image
I had low expectations for Monster Summer. Based on the trailer, it comes across as a Goosebumps and Stranger Things wannabe. The movie has a cast with a few notable names past their primes in such minor roles that you wonder who cashed in a favor or two.

Then there is Mel Gibson, the controversial Hollywood legend, who elevates this adventure horror film into something worth the price of admission. Gibson’s performance single-handedly elevates Monster Summer, which could have been a cheap knockoff, into something substantive.

Not to mention, this is a family “horror” film with a surprising amount of heart.

‘Monster Summer’ Review: There Be Witches on Martha’s Vineyard in a Fun Kid-Friendly Adventure
Image
A genial juvenile adventure that’s equal parts “The Hardy Boys” and “Goosebumps,” “Monster Summer” has Mason Thames (the principal child captive in “The Black Phone”) in considerably less-disturbing peril as a Martha’s Vineyard resident who comes to suspect witchery afoot. David Henrie’s slick exercise in lite supernatural suspense is aimed at younger viewers, though their parents may also be diverted by the cast’s elder members, including Mel Gibson, Lorraine Bracco and Kevin James. It’s a fun movie that lands on the right side of “innocuous,” being pleasantly formulaic rather than simply bland. Pastime Pictures is releasing the feature (previously called “The Boys of Summer”) to U.S. theaters on Oct. 4.

Aspiring to become a journalist like his late, globe-trotting father, Noah (Thames) has no more pressing desire than to get an article published in the area newspaper. But its unamused editor only wants material pleasing to tourists and advertisers,...

There’s an adorable moment in Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin when Franklin asks Charlie Brown a question. The two are chatting like any two young kids would when Franklin expresses his appreciation for the music of Stevie Wonder, Little Richard, and James Brown. This is a sweet, heartwarming origin story for one of Peanuts’ most beloved characters. Review: Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin Reintroduces a Peanuts Classic
Image
Six months after releasing the long-running Peanuts franchise's most recent television special, Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie, a new special comes to Apple TV+ this February: Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin. Released in time for Black History Month, the special provides a full retelling of Franklin Armstrong's introduction to the rest of the Peanuts gang and his struggles to fit in and make friends in this strange, new town. This particular special really leans into the time period when Franklin originally made his debut in the comic strip by creator Charles M. Schulz, along with the recent specials' grounding in more earnest and deliberate emotion in how their characters approach new challenges.

Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin continues Apple TV+'s winning streak with Peanuts after becoming the streaming home for it with the launch of Apple TV+ in 2019. Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin is co-written by cartoonist and Franklin's namesake Robb Armstrong,...

New Peanuts Movie Announced, Story Details Tease Snoopy & Charlie Brown’s First Feature Since 2015
Image
A new Peanuts movie has been announced by Apple TV+, following the success of the previous CGI adaptation in 2015. The film will be directed by Steve Martino, who also helmed the previous Peanuts movie, which received positive reviews. Production for the new movie will begin in 2024, providing an opportunity to introduce the beloved characters to a new generation and potentially reinvent them for success.

A new Peanuts movie is announced, with some story details teased. Created by Charles Schulz, Peanuts originated as a comic strip in 1950, introducing now-iconic characters such as Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Woodstock, and Pigpen. The Peanuts gang was later moved to animation with the classic special A Charlie Brown Christmas in 1965, which was followed up by It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown in 1966 and later A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving in 1973.

Now, Apple TV+ announces a new Peanuts movie. The Peanuts movie will be a CGI-animated film directed by Steve Martino.

The New Peanuts Movie Has The Perfect Angle To Bring Charlie Brown To A New Generation
Image
There are three types of people in the world: "Garfield" people, "Calvin and Hobbes" people, and "Peanuts" people. As a practicing worshipper of The Great Pumpkin and the human result of what happens when Lucy van Pelt and Peppermint Patty go through the Brundlefly machine, I am firmly in the latter camp. There's no such thing as a bad "Peanuts" movie, in my opinion, only films that are special to a smaller number of fans.

The characters created by Charles M. Schulz have been entertaining generations for over 75 years, and there's no sign of stopping. Apple won the rights to much of the "Peanuts" library in the streaming wars, releasing the hybrid "Peanuts" special/Schulz documentary "Who Are You, Charlie Brown?" as well as two series, "Snoopy in Space" and "The Snoopy Show." Now, Apple TV+ is developing its first "Peanuts" original feature, bringing Charlie Brown and the gang to the Big City.

Snoopy Presents One-of-a-Kind Marcie Review

Tom and Jerry Movie Wants Peter Dinklage as the Villain?
Warner Bros. reportedly wants Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage to star in their upcoming Tom and Jerry movie. It's believed that the CGI and live-action hybrid will begin production this summer and Dinklage will certainly have some more time on his hands now that his hit HBO series is finished. However, he will more than likely have to do some press for Game of Thrones Season 8 throughout the summer, which could impede on the Tom & Jerry production.

It was previously revealed that Warner Bros. was eying Olivia Cooke for a starring role and they reportedly already met with Zoey Deutch. It is believed that the actresses are up for the part of Kayla, "who teams up with Tom to stop the pesky Jerry from ruining an important event for herself." Peter Dinklage is reportedly wanted for the role of Terrance, who is the antagonist, and Kayla's boss in the Tom & Jerry movie.

Snoopy & Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie review – wry comic strip update
Colourful 3D animation brightens up the beloved creations of Charles Schulz, but the humour and observations remain the same

This return to the cinema for the stars of Charles M Schulz’s beloved comic strip has heritage credibility; it is co-written by Craig and Bryan Schulz (with Cornelius Uliano), respectively son and grandson of Charles, and uses archive recordings of Bill Melendez (the one person Schulz entrusted to bring his creations to the screen) to lend voice to Snoopy and Woodstock.

Fans of such classic screen incarnations as 1965’s TV special A Charlie Brown Christmas may balk at the colourful digital 3D that leads us into some loop-de-looping dogfights between Snoopy and the cursed Red Baron, but for the most part there’s a reassuring “go fly a kite” simplicity to the visuals; north of the 2D cut-outs of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut naturally, but still far, far...
