Dicky grew up in Dubai, was educated at Oxford, studied film in Tokyo, and for the past 20 years has been writing and directing films and commercials across Asia.
Graduate of the New York Film Academy, and Oxford University, majoring in English Literature. After studying at the Japan Institute of the Moving Image, he did internships in Tokyo at the film distribution company There's Enterprise, and film trailer production company Baca The Bacca. In 2004, he co-founded alien-eye inc., a boutique production company located in Tokyo, responsible for producing groundbreaking viral movies such as "Norton Fighter" for Symantec, and "Puchi Bruce Die Hard" for 20th Century Fox.
From 2007, he moved his base to Taipei, and began directing commercial films primarily for Taiwan and China. He has directed campaign films for global brands such as Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, Cadillac, Subaru, Isuzu, Sharp, and Canon.
He also writes and directs narrative films. In 2013, he directed the opening credit sequence for the Chinese film version of "101st Proposal". In 2021, his sci-fi horror short film "Angel" won awards, and screened at major festivals worldwide, including Austin, Raindance, and HollyShorts. In 2023, he served as both the screenwriter and director for "Ultraseven IF Story: The Future 55 Years Ago", an original concept movie produced by Tsuburaya Productions to celebrate Ultraseven's 55th anniversary.
He is fluent in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
