Biography

Thomai Hatsios has directed commercials, music videos, and over 40 narrative portions of true crime episodes aired on ABC, CNBC, Discovery ID, Lifetime, Oxygen, and Netflix.

Her ability to collaborate with actors and department heads is largely due to her on-the-job training in every department she received early in her career, on set and in post, working on major network promos, national commercials, pilots for Lionsgate, music videos, fashion videos, and independent features.

Thomai's diverse history informs her creativity, storytelling ability, and collaborative spirit. As a teen, Thomai ran an activist multi-media conceptual art and theater company, directing, writing, and performing as a dancer, actor, and aerialist. Life experience and industry work culminate in her ability to remain calm, examine multiple perspectives, and easily adapt as needed. She is known for fostering confidence and ease on set.

Thomai was recently selected as one of eight women for the Black Magic Collective: Future Women of Television Initiative. Thomai participates in mutual aid guiding yoga, meditation, mentoring within the film industry and providing meals to food insecure communities.
