Here’s a cool one in the works at Warner Bros: Sydney Sweeney is attached to star in and produce I Pretended to Be a Missing Girl, via her Fifty-Fifty Films.
The movie project is based on a Reddit short story by Joe Cote. Fifty-Fifty notched Oscar-winning Forrest Gump and Dune scribe Eric Roth to adapt it.
In the short story, a drifter impersonates a missing girl to rob the girl’s family — only to realize she’s made a terrible mistake.
Vertigo’s Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Trevor Engelson and Aaron Folbe at Underground are attached to produce.
Sweeney, the White Lotus and Euphoria star, is taking a bigger hand in producing the projects she stars in. She was an executive producer on Sony’s 2023 romantic comedy hit Anyone But You ($220.3 million global box office gross and $103M net profit after ancillaries), and she shepherded the nun horror...

Comcast has appointed David Novak, one of its board members and the former CEO of fast-food company Yum! Brands, as chairman of its soon-to-spin-off collection of cable TV networks.
SpinCo, as the entity is called on a temporary basis, is aiming to separate from Comcast by the end of the year. It will have major networks including MSNBC, USA and others from the NBCUniversal fold, with Bravo remaining at the parent company with NBC and Telemundo.
In a statement, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts saluted the “talent and success” of Novak, who steered Yum! from 2000-14. PepsiCo created the company as a stand-alone entity (speaking of spincos) after acquiring KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
“With David’s track record of driving growth and value creation at public companies, he is the ideal person to assemble and lead a world-class board,” Roberts said. “David has been an invaluable member of Comcast...

Fans of The Officewon't struggle to think back on the cameo role that Amy Adams had. Early on in the series, she had a small but integral part to play. She fitted seamlessly into the mockumentary setup, and conveyed all the emotions her character went through after coming into contact with some of the bizarre people at Dunder Mifflin. The Office came early on in Adams' career in film and TV, demonstrating her ability to act with sincere realism. Moving on from the show, she has become best known for roles such as Brenda in 2002's Catch Me if You Can and 2007's Giselle in Enchanted, which earned her her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. She later won two of those awards in the same category, for American Hustle (2013) and Big Eyes (2014).
Adams was also the first guest roles on The Office.

Many Chicago Fire fans out there are ready for a new episode of the series. It’s Wednesday night after all. We have some bad news when it comes to tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 12.
There is not a new episode of Chicago Fire on tonight. This is something that we shared last week, as we took a look at the preview for the episode. It was clear when the promo came out that the show would take a break.
What’s on the NBC schedule tonight?
In some good news, NBC knows that we want to tune into something that involves Firehouse 51. That’s why when there are breaks in the regular schedule, we get some time with reruns. Chicago Fire will air a rerun tonight at the usual time of 9 p.m. Et/Pt.
We are heading back to episode 4 of the current season. This is quite timely considering it...

To say that people love "The Office" would be a bit of a dramatic understatement. The NBC sitcom, which is based on the short-lived U.K. series of the same name, ran for nine seasons, going off the air in 2013. Although it's been off the air for more than a decade, it remains insanely popular. So much so that it's one of the core things helping to keep Peacock afloat in the streaming wars.
Like many shows, the later seasons of "The Office" are pretty widely considered among the worst. There are many reasons for that but one core reason is that by season 9, several of the show's mainstays had departed. Steve Carell left the role of Michael Scott behind at the end of season 7, for example. But season 8 also saw core cast member Mindy Kaling, known for her portrayal as the dramatic Kelly Kapoor,...

It’s time for the crossover event that we’ve been waiting for. It’s the first One Chicago crossover in five years, and it doesn’t look like it will disappoint.
Most of the crossover events in the past have felt more like individual episodes of the shows that just happen to be focused on a specific case. There was one that did bring us something that felt like a three-hour movie, and it looks like this latest crossover is going to do the same.
It’s important to note that the actual episodes are switched around a little bit. The night will start with a Chicago Fire episode and then run into Chicago Med before ending with Chicago Pd.
What starts the emergency in the One Chicago 2025 crossover event

Watch the kindhearted Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) fall in love with Tom Hanks' Joe Fox (F-o-x) all over again in director Nora Ephron’s You’ve Got Mail (1998). The must-see romantic comedy begins streaming Feb. 1, on Hulu, which is just in time for Valentine’s Day. The film and Kelly’s quaint bookstore, The Shop Around the Corner, which is located in New York City, are both nods to the iconic holiday classic of the same name starring Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullavan.
You’ve Got Mail provided a fresh take on The Shop Around the Corner (1940) by making Kathleen and Joe fall in love over a series of emails they exchanged after meeting in an online chatroom. Whereas Mr. Kralik (Stewart) and Ms. Novak (Sullavan) exchanged adoring love letters as pen pals. However, the same hook remained from the classic: Neither of the characters in either film knew their pen pal...

It’s game, set and match to Novak Djovokic. The Serbian tennis ace has received and “acknowledged” an apology from Australian broadcaster Channel Nine over comments made by its reporter, Toby Jones.
Djovokic had boycotted an on-court interview after his third-round victory at the Australian Open in Melbourne this week. This was after Jones had chanted, “Novak is overrated, Novak’s a has-been, Novak kick him out” to Serbian supporters during a live broadcast before the match against Jiri Lehacka.
Jones — who works for Nine, the tournament’s official broadcaster — was widely criticized by tennis professionals and social media commenters after his remarks went viral, and he has since apologized to Djovokic’s camp and the Serbian fans. “I considered it to be humour, which is consistent with most things I do,” he said. “Having said that, I was made aware on the Saturday morning from Tennis Australia that the...

Stella joined Firehouse 51 in season 4 and has been one of its most integral firefighters ever since. Now, in Chicago Fire season 13, Stella is the lieutenant in charge of Truck 81. Despite her importance, she is mysteriously absent in episode 9, "A Favor."

The third season of HBO’s hit controversial show Euphoria has been delayed due to a bevy of reasons, but HBO boss Casey Bloys said last month that the series should commence very soon. “We are shooting Euphoria,” Bloys said. “I think we have a start date, mid to late January. Nothing’s changed. Somebody said something online, and then this whole thing started. We are shooting the season. I have read the scripts. We’re happy. We’re moving ahead. All of the actors are in the show.“
Very little is known about this season. Apparently, even one of the show’s breakout stars, Colman Domingo, hasn’t yet seen a script, but he has been hyped about returning ever since discussing it with the series creator, who is coming off of the equally controversial HBO series The Idol. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Domingo appeared on an episode of the U.

The cult classic Poog podcast has rebranded to Berlant and Novak and will operate under the Backyard Ventures network. Kate and Jacqueline are excited to move forward with whatever topics they so choose, be it: the artist's grind, friendship, travel, food escapades, and more. These best friends, sisters really, unpack life's greatest pleasures and struggles in a whole new format that feels just like coming home.
Poog garnered a devoted fanbase before its sudden and untimely demise, which devastated many. New York Magazine even featured the show's seeming cancellation in their Culture Graphs, describing it as "highbrow/despicable." Just a week after its abrupt end, Kate and Jacqueline launched an indie version behind a paywall, rapidly gaining subscribers. Now, they’re back and free for all listeners with Berlant and Novak. Dedicated Poog fans, lovingly called “hags,” will be thrilled to know that when asked in a recent Ama if they’re “still hags,...

After Chief Wallace Boden's exit last year, season 13 of Chicago Fire has been a whirlwind for Firehouse 51. The crew has been adjusting to their new leader, Dermot Mulroney's Chief Dom Pascal, who many firefighters have questions about, especially due to his reputation in Miami. Randall "Mouch" McHolland and Christopher Herrmann are longtime Chicago Fire characters who intend to elevate their positions to challenge themselves. Sam Carver was challenged after paramedic Violet Mikami initially chose to end their relationship.
Firehouse 51's other paramedic, Lizzie Novak, reveals her emotional side during calls and references to her past and family history that could affect her job. Joe Cruz's past also comes back to haunt him when a man seeks vengeance against him for not saving his cousin during a fire years ago. One Chicago has big plans for 2025. The franchise absolutely dominated NBC ratings in 2024, and the return of the franchise crossover at the end of the month proves that Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago Pd are thriving as a shared television universe.
Part of the appeal of One Chicago, of course, is the wide array of characters in its cast. It's an ensemble franchise at the end of the day, and as such, people are going to have their personal favorites. Consider this a new year's wish list. These are the characters we hope get more screen time in 2025, and a brief explainer as to why.

Adam Scott Is Playing His 16-Year-Old Step Brothers Character All Over Again, This Time On Apple TV+
Adam Scott is best known for playing sweet, nerdy Ben Wyatt in Parks & Recreation, but many of Adam Scott's best roles are characters who were jerks. Scott's role as Derek Huff in Step Brothers shows how perfectly Scott can play a character who is both successful and sleazy. Currently, Scott is in Apple TV+ series Loot, where he plays tech mogul John Novak. It's been a hit, with two seasons streaming and Loot's upcoming season 3 on the way.
Scott's character kicks off the events of Loot. A billionaire many times over, John is married to Loot's main character Molly Wells (Maya Rudolph), who catches John cheating on her at her birthday party. John thinks he can talk or bribe his way out of the scandal, but Molly leaves him and takes half of everything. Molly uses her billions to focus on her charity foundation, but Molly's rejection of...

Long before his role as Nandor the Relentless in What We Do in the Shadows, Kayvan Novak made quite an impression in the British film Four Lions. Alongside co-stars Riz Ahmed and Adeel Akhtar, Novak plays an extremely dim-witted terrorist in this over-the-top comedy that successfully pulls off a satirical take on terrorism. While the film shows how terrorism is driven by ideology, it also shows that it’s stupid, and comically explores the flawed psychology behind the motivation. Ahmed plays Omar, the lead in the film, while Novak plays his cousin, Waj. The film depicts their mishaps as they train to become terrorists, and shows just how incompetent, misguided, and futile all of it is. Because the film uses humor to make a mockery of the threat of terrorism, to belittle it and therefore take a stand against it, Novak is allowed to play it silly, and does so with aplomb.

Apple TV+ has once again hit the jackpot with the hilarious comedy, Loot, and the Maya Rudolph-led series has now officially been renewed for season 3. Debuting in 2022, the show follows Molly Novak (Rudolph) a recent divorcee who must figure out what to do with the $87 billion settlement she scored from her husband. Hoping to do something good, Novak gets involved with her charity and attempts to rediscover her humanity. With biting satire about class in the 21st century, Loot pressed all the right buttons, especially with Rudolph in the lead role.
When Loot debuted in 2022, it was met with largely positive praise from critics, scoring a respectable 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. Most importantly, it secured a second season after a respectable first outing and stands as one of Apple TV+'s best original shows. While Loot's renewal came quickly, the second season was mired in delays due to the 2023 Hollywood...

The end is nigh for the Staten Island vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Laszlo (Matt Berry), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proskch) and their human pal Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) as FX‘s What We Do in the Shadows prepares to present its series finale episode on Monday, December 16th. In anticipation of the show’s ending, TV Insider caught up with stars Novak, Guillén, Berry, and Proksch alongside creatives Paul Simms, Sarah Naftalis, and Sam Johnson in our studio at New York Comic Con to discuss the final season. So, do they stick the landing? It’s a question that looms over the show as we anticipate the finale episode, but according to Proksch, they do indeed. @Mattdoylephoto “I think it’s hard on a comedy, based on history, to stick the landing,” Proksch says in the video interview, above. “But I feel like we accomplish that.” It...

Celebrity documentaries are commanding lofty price tags at the moment, even though “star power” itself seems to be losing its sizzle.
The facts are nasty: Superstar endorsements carried zero clout in the presidential elections. Further, studios have lost their zeal for the once pivotal pre-opening star interview circuit. Superstar vehicles like Wolfs (George Clooney and Brad Pitt) drifted before audiences with limited exposure to blurbdom. Sequel numbers carry greater weight than festival fervor.
Defying this algorithmic blur, Apple TV still felt its Billie Eilish caper was worth $27 million, and Disney forked out $32 million for Elton John: Never Too Late. Disney also paid handsomely for a new/old doc titled Beatles ’64 from Paul McCartney, premiering this week. Could Taylor Swift be far behind?
Intriguingly, audiences still register an appetite for docs about past legends like Humphrey Bogart as well as semi-present ones like Bob Dylan — even litigating about their validity.

The Law & Order franchise introduced audiences to many beloved characters, from homicide detectives like Lennie Briscoe and Ada Jack McCoy, as well as detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler in the Law & Order spin-off, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Special Victims Unit, much like the original Law & Order series, featured multiple characters each season, some of which were more memorable than others. And one character that many fans still remember fondly is Ada Casey Novak, who joined Law & Order: Svu in Season 5.
Casey Novak, played by Diane Neal, joined the Svu squad as their permanent Ada after long-time prosecutor Alex Cabot had to go into witness protection. Novak soon became a beloved character in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and she quickly found her footing within the team. Maybe it’s because of everything going on in the world, but somehow, the one-week wait for Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 6 felt much longer than it was.
The episode was worth the wait, though; we got a decent mix of action and character development over the course of the hour.
I have more questions now than I started the night with, but I’m choosing to trust that the writers won’t lead us astray with the stories they’re telling.
(NBC/Peter Gordon)
The elephant in the room this season is Chief Dom Pascal.
He floated in on a cloud of mystery in Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 1, and we don’t really know much more about him than we did a couple of months ago.
From the viewer’s perspective, we have every reason not to trust the guy.

Severide will always do the right thing when it comes to the law. Why is Pascal holding him back in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 6?
There are a lot of secrets in Pascal’s life. He doesn’t want the firehouse to know too much about him or his past. We know a little, but there’s still a lot unknown, and it looks like some of it will come up in the new episode. There’s an element of fear on his face, and we want to know why.
Severide works with the Illinois State Police in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 6
We usually see Severide working with Intelligence or another part of Chicago Pd. This time, the State Police will come in to deal with the situation. Severide will work closely with the cops as they investigate something Severide finds on a call. There are ghost guns. That means guns without serial numbers.

Chicago Fire has had its fair share of romances, whether they be merely hookups or result in marriages, and eight have happened between coworkers at Firehouse 51. Unfortunately, given the nature of the relationship, most in-house relationships in the One Chicago TV show have failed. Dating someone you work with can be quite complicated, after all. Only a couple of the Firehouse 51 romances in Chicago Fire have been truly successful, while the rest have crashed and burned over the course of the series' 13 seasons.
Many fan-favorite Chicago Fire relationships have been between someone who works at Firehouse 51 and someone who doesn't. For example, Wallace Boden and Donna Robbins had a happy and healthy marriage in the NBC procedural drama, but Donna wasn't a part of the Firehouse 51 crew, meaning they can't be ranked on this list. The same goes for Randall "Mouch" McHolland and Trudy Platt (who works in the 21st...

Firehouse 51 in Chicago Fire isn't shy to in-house romances, but season 13's next potential love story (between Chief Dom Pascal and Lyla Novak) can only end in disaster. NBC's procedural drama revolves around the personal and work lives of the firefighters and paramedics from Firehouse 51 in Chicago. After Eamonn Walker's Chief Boden left Chicago Fire ahead of season 13, Dermot Mulroney's Pascal assumed his position at the aforementioned fire station. While he has rubbed some of his workers the wrong way, the scenes between Pascal and Novak suggest she is far from being one of those who oppose him.

When the cast and showrunner of “What We Do in the Shadows” talk about their impeccable FX comedy, two words keep coming up: fancy room.
This is the formal, technical, and maybe even industry term for exactly what viewers will suspect; the ornate sitting room of the Staten Island mansion where a group of vampires gather to lounge, fight, and occasionally hypnotize a private school principal to the point of irreparable brain damage. For showrunner Paul Simms and actors Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, and Mark Proksch, who all gathered together for a PaleyFest panel on October 19, group scenes in the Fancy Room were among what they’ll miss most now that “Shadows” has wrapped filming.
“Those were the scenes where I’d feel probably the most nervous going in,” Novak recalled of the early seasons. “‘Oh wow, these guys, it’s gotta be good, and I can’t fuck up.

Colman Domingo is set to make his feature directorial debut with the Miramax drama ‘Scandalous.’
The movie will follow the story of the clandestine love affair between film star Kim Novak, singer/dancer, and film star Sammy Davis Jr. in 1957 and the bigoted scrutiny the pair faced once their relationship came to light.
Sydney Sweeney will play Novak, and David Jonsson will play Davis. In 1956, Novak and Davis first met on “The Steve Allen Show”. They continued to meet, with Davis visiting the set of “Vertigo” the following year. They crossed paths again at a Thanksgiving charity ball in California, which led to the pair spending the holidays together. The public became aware of their romance in 1958. Davis eventually married Loray White, a Black chorus singer, but their union only lasted one year.

Colman Domingo is set to make his directorial debut with the feature, which will also star Alien: Romulus breakout David Jonsson as Sammy Davis Jr. The film will explore the clandestine love affair between Davis Jr. and Novak in 1957. Deadline reports that the movie is set to film as soon as Sweeney and Domingo finish up their parts in the third season of HBO's Euphoria.

The rise of Lance Oppenheim continues unabated: within 12 months of Spermworld and Ren Faire comes the news he’ll be directing Primetime, a feature backed by A24 and Robert Pattinson’s Icki Eneo Arlo. Per sources (including some from which this writer’s heard directly), Ajon Singh’s script takes direct inspiration from NBC’s To Catch a Predator and its notorious host Chris Hansen; Deadline‘s article plays into that, noting rumors the film concerns “a journalist who takes on an underworld of crime and changes television forever.” Whether Pattinson also stars remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, Deadline also notes Colman Domingo will make his directorial debut with Euphoria co-star Sydney Sweeney playing none other than Kim Novak. The project, Scandalous, is scripted by Matthew Fantaci and concerns the fire-setting affair between Novak and Sammy Davis Jr. (David Jonsson). Cameras roll once the HBO series finishes shooting its third season.

In an era of television when the line between drama and comedy is so blurred that genuine laughs are practically a novelty, What We Do in the Shadows would rather tour a garlic field on a sunny day than turn the vampire comedy dark and depressing.
For Taika Waititi fans who have been invested in the What We Do in the Shadows universe since the original film first reached cult classic status back in 2014, tonight’s premiere episode from the sixth and final season of the FX show by the same name is something of a bittersweet moment. On the one hand, who among us could have imagined that the quirky, idiosyncratic mockumentary from the early days of Waititi’s rise to international superstar status would still be leaving its mark on the comedy world a full decade after its modestly successful release? On the other hand, with the sequel...

What We Do in the Shadows stars Kayvan Novak and Harvey Guilln address how season 6 will approach Nandor's "will-they-won't-they" relationship with the vampire's familiar, Guillermo, who originally came to Nandor on the request to be turned into a vampire. Over the past five seasons, the show has teased the two of them having feelings for each other, but nothing has ever come of it. Nandor shows a soft side to Guillermo, despite dismissing him in front of others. What We Do in the Shadows season 6, its final season, will finally bring closure to their relationship.
Novak and Guilln spoke with Screen Rant and explained that "the last season's not going to disappoint" after the show has "kept that ball in the air for so long" with their "unrequited love affair." Novak said that What We Do in the Shadows has been keeping "it kind of fresh." Teasing about the upcoming season,...

No matter what happens on “What We Do in the Shadows,” you know you’re going to laugh until it hurts.
The same was true for the show’s Season 6 panel at Paleyfest in New York Citayyyy on October 19, when showrunner Paul Simms and stars Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, and Mark Proksch discussed the final season and how it felt to conclude the story of their Staten Island vampires.
“We just felt like better too soon than too late, and we didn’t want to be doing it after we used everything up,” Simms said of deciding to end the show with Season 6. “We knew it was going to be sad, but that also gave us a clear direction for the season. We thought about all the other shows [that have] done final seasons, and shows that are like a ‘very special final season.’ We were like ‘No; we want to make...

The sixth and final season of FX’s What We Do in the Shadows will have “one of the most unique endings that has been shown on TV ever,” exclaimed the series actor Mark Proksch tonight on the Emmys red carpet.
Teasing what we can expect, he said that his day-walking vampire, Colin Robinson, “gets into a lot of mischief this year with Lazlo.”
The actor added, “We are an odd couple, but it works out in the end for the comedy.”
“I hope in five years they do a movie with Colin Robinson and the rest of the cast, but I don’t know if that will be possible,” Proksch added.
What We Do in the Shadows is based on the 2014 feature film of the same name by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. The series documents the nightly exploits of vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja...
