David LaRosa
- Director
- Actor
- Producer
David credits his family's support of creativity for his love of filmmaking.
David initially majored in Political Science but dropped out after taking several filmmaking and acting classes. Turning his sights on studying acting, David trained with a multitude of teachers but credits Laurence Gewirtz and Harry O'Reilly for the most impressionable experiences.
Although founding and being the President of the independent film company Feenix Films in 2008, David also returned to school and received his BA and Masters Degree. He continued to develop and pursue opportunities as a director, writer, and producer during this time.
David received a Gold Remi at 2016's Worldfest Houston in the Crime/Drama category for "Clandestine". He also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for "Clandestine" at Worldfest for the role of DEA Agent Tom Mackenrowe. The film also received a Best Actress Win for Kate McGrath (Julia), a Best Actor Nomination for Nick DeMatteo (Cooper), and a Best Supporting Nomination for Chris Ryan (Billman). "The Basement" (2012), a short David directed, received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Leslie Coplin at SoCal Film Fest. "Dealer" (2012), a film David was a Producer and actor on, received an Audience Favorite Win at the FlipsideTV Film Festival. David has also been nominated for Best Screenplay for his first full length script, the original "Nicky Newark" (2011) as well as receiving an honorable mention as Director for the film (the film being his first full length directorial debut) at LA Reel film Fest.
David happily enjoys life with his family when not working on films.
