In Pokémon, the Elite Four are four Pokémon Trainers seen as the toughest of their region, second only to the Pokémon Champion. In the games, they're the final obstacle in the endgame for the player to defeat, each with their own distinct type. Almost every region has an Elite Four, with only Kanto and Johto sharing their pairs, and Galar lacks an Elite Four entirely. In the anime, the Elite Four serve a different purpose mainly due to the other way the League is structured.
Rather than having Trainers face off against the Elite Four after collecting all 8 Gym Badges, they face off against each other in a structured tournament. This causes the Elite Four to be relegated to cameo appearances in the anime more than obstacles to defeat for Ash. However, the anime cleverly uses the Elite Four to present strategies Ash can use to win his most brutal battles.

Filmmaker Kevin Smith is writing a double-sized crossover comic in which the wholesome Archie Comics characters meet the edgy protagonists of his film oeuvre. This mature title takes place in the continuity of Smith’s filmography, with the book set after the events of 2022’s Clerks III, which (spoiler alert), included the death of Dante (Brian O’Halloran).
“Archie plays a role in the healing,” Smith tells The Hollywood Reporter of the story, which features Archie landing a summer job at the Clerks Quick Shop and striking up a friendship with co-worker Randal Graves.
“Not only is this my stab at a classic American franchise that existed long before me that I read as a kid … It’s a midlife crisis project about death and learning to deal,” Smith adds.

The NCIS franchise has gained a lot of fame and acclaim over the years – enough to spawn multiple prequel and sequel spin-off series. Like NCIS: Origins, the sixth installment from the franchise released in 2024, which focused on the early investigative career of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the show’s original protagonist, years prior to the events of NCIS.

Danny Cannon has racked up a lot of directing credits over the last 35 years, including credits on episodes of CSI, CSI: Miami, Dark Blue, Nikita, Shameless, Gotham, Pennyworth, and Gotham Knights, among others – but he’s best known for making a couple of feature films back in the 1990s: the poorly received Sylvester Stallone comic book adaptation Judge Dredd and the slasher sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (which is indeed canon to the new I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel that’s being made). Now, Deadline reports that Cannon has signed on to direct a high-concept horror thriller called Obey, which Altitude will be presenting to potential buyers at the European Film Market.

Did fans spot a missing piece in Taylor Swift’s bling for Super Bowl? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Taylor Swift may not have had the best and most memorable nights at the Super Bowl on Sunday, but the pop billionaire showed off some serious sparkle, sporting an eye-catching collection of jewelry, including a unique piece that got everyone’s attention.
But, before fans start speculating, it wasn’t the engagement ring they were hoping for, and it certainly wasn’t on the finger they were thinking.

The Sopranos is one of the greatest television shows of all time. Its complicated characters, excellent storytelling, and all-around excitement has made it a timeless classic. That being said, there are still some elements of the show that never get true resolutions or otherwise feel as if they were created without a purpose beyond making characters suffer. This is to be expected, no show is going to be perfect, and there may even be some reasoning to do so.
At its core, The Sopranos is a show about violent members of the mafia, so its main characters were never going to have happy endings or even completely satisfying ones. Reality is a core aspect of this show, and it is reflected in how some storylines unfolded — or rather, how they didn't.

The film follows a couple struggling to save their marriage who must learn to put their differences aside if they are to save their son from a deranged home invader, Flip Face.

Mark leaves. A new life apart – Mother and son, Tanner, now alone at home. But when Caitlin goes to check on Tanner, she finds he’s gone. Nowhere to be found.
Caitlin believes her husband is behind this.

Years before he directed Challengers, Luca Guadagnino created the coming-of-age miniseries We Are Who We Are, based on an original idea by writer Paolo Giordano. The series starred Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam!), who gives a stunning performance as Fraser Wilson. Fraser is a troubled teen who moves with his moms– played by Chloe Sevigny(American Psycho) and Alice Braga(Queen of the South)– to a military base in Italy. At the base, he meets Harper Poythress (Jordan Kristine Seamon), a teen struggling with his gender identity. Guadagnino specializes in compelling, messy relationships and Fraser and Caitlin are one of his best. The longer runtime of a miniseries rather than a movie allows Guadagnino to give the world of We Are Who Are a sprawling, lived-in feel. We Are Who We Are is a well-observed portrayal of teen romance that rivals Challengers in its provocative relationship dynamics.

When a TV show has an unforgettable pilot episode, it instantly pulls viewers in for what's to come next. Whether it be the characters, the high-quality production, or the unexpected twists, people grow curious about where the story will go. However, if the series finale is disappointing and poorly conceived, the ending could leave a noticeable stain on the show's legacy and become a part of television infamy.
Shockingly, these TV shows had the best of both worlds since they started so strongly to pull viewers in, only for the final episode to cause them to question whether the investment was worth it. They became the proper definition of having a journey that is far better than the destination. While that first episode will always remain a classic, fans prefer not to think about the underwhelming finale. These criteria are applied to multiple popular shows, such as Game of Thrones,...

While the Solo Leveling English dub cast's improvisation has been a big hit with fans, the latest dub episode is also receiving praise due to restoring a line from the original manhwa.
Jinwoo's voice actor, Aleks Le, showcased a scene from the Solo Leveling Season 2 English dub of Episode 2, "I Suppose You Aren't Aware." Fans will remember Tank's less happy former identity, Kim Chul, as he threatened his fellow trapped Hunters over his inability to accept his team was wiped out. As he counted to three, demanding they confess who was responsible, the Japanese version opted to skip a line from the original manhwa. As shown in the X (formerly Twitter) post, Le brought Jinwoo's simple line "four" back, finishing Chul's count and nonchalantly sending him flying -- to the approval of many fans. The battle between the sub and the dub versions is one of the longest ongoing duels in the history of anime. While this battle has been mostly won by the sub-version, there are a few instances where the dub version has prevailed. Recently, it was seen in the second episode of the Solo Leveling anime series Season 2, “Solo Leveling: Arise from the Shadow.“

If you’re a fan of any of the other 31 teams in the NFL, then you’re probably decrying the questionable officiating that helped spur the Kansas City Chiefs to yet another playoff win on Saturday.
But if you’re Taylor Swift and her new bestie Caitlin Clark then you couldn’t be happier with the results of today’s matchup!
Yes, Taylor was in attendance as the Chiefs took on the Houston Texans in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. And she wasn’t alone.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Younger!
The TV Land comedy Younger, which stars Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff, includes numerous established actors across seven seasons, creating lovable and entertaining characters. The show follows a 40-year-old divorcee mom named Liza Miller, who lies about her age to get an assistant job at a publishing house. Younger built a large fanbase across six years, garnering numerous nominations at the Critics' Choice Awards, People's Choice Awards, and Teen Choice Awards.
Besides the wacky premise, the show thrives thanks to the incredible cast. Though Liza is the lead, many of her friends, coworkers, and love interests have the same amount of time and character development in Younger, making them just as enjoyable as the quirky aspiring editor. Luckily, the cast consists of numerous established actors and a handful of standout up-and-comers who make even the most hateable character fun to watch.

2003’s School of Rock compiled a great group of child actors as they not only were able to go toe-to-toe with Jack Black in their comedic performances, but they also really came together as a band for the film. The bond that the cast made was evident as the audience could also feel their synergy. However, for two particular castmates, their bond would blossom into true love. Two of the movie’s child stars, Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli, would recently step on stage again, this time in holy matrimony.
Hale played Marta in School of Rock, who was one of the backup singers, while Massagli played Frankie, who became more of a crew member for the band. The two grew up to tie the knot and Entertainment Weekly reports on another cast member — Rivkah Reyes, who portrayed the bassist Katie — documenting parts of the wedding on a TikTok video.

Chimes! But this time, they are not from the song "Legend of The Rent." They are the chimes of wedding bells as two of the castmates of director Richard Linklater and writer Mike White's beloved comedy School Of Rock got married recently. Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli, who played students of Horace Green Prep, wed in a ceremony at a hotel in New Jersey. Seeing the now-grown private school rockers marry is both heartwarming and bone-chilling as a stunning reminder of Father Time's unhindered march.
While the young newbie actors shine in School of Rock, the film is still one of Jack Black's finest performances to this day. With the series finale of Superman & Lois, the final window on the DC Comics-inspired universe known as the Arrowverse closed. Beginning in 2012 with Arrow and eventually expanding to include nine separate series, it is the most successful and prolific corner of DC's multiverse in live action. While the Arrowverse changed many characters and details to fit their story, the shared universe fully embraced the spirit of comic book storytelling.
DC purists will point out that many narrative and character details in the Arrowverse shows were significant departures from the source material. Oliver Queen was inspired by Batman as much as he was Green Arrow. Batwoman replaced Kate Kane with an original character after series lead Ruby Rose left the show. Superman & Lois began as part of the Arrowverse before changing course, but gave Clark Kent and Lois Lane two teenage sons. However, even when the Arrowverse departed from comics'...

The following contains major spoilers from Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 17, "Entitlement," which debuted Friday, Dec. 6 on CBS. It also contains discussion of suicide.
Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 17, "Entitlement," would be a perfectly average episode in any other season. As the second-to-last installment of the entire show, though, it's a disappointment. None of the multiple storylines generate any real suspense for viewers, and while there isn't anything terrible about the proceedings, it's impossible not to want something more.
"Entitlement" has the majority of its plots connect to that concept in obvious ways. The Governor of New York wants Frank to use his power as police commissioner to do him a favor. The detectives investigate a "mean girl" suspected of killing her classmate at an all-girls school. And on the ground level, one of Jamie Reagan's informants decides to take full advantage of that title. Without any big moments or major character developments,...

The biggest trauma inflicted by Game of Thrones would be its Season 3 Episode 9, titled The Rains of Castamere. The episode saw one of the most gruesome events in television history, known in the lore as the Red Wedding. The traumatic episode is sure to leave fans too stunned to even speak and the show respects the silence by avoiding using an end credits music.

Solo Leveling has taken the world by storm in a way that only a select few anime do. The series follows Sung Jinwoo, a young man who's considered to be "The Weakest Hunter of All Mankind." However, he receives a second chance from an enigmatic entity known as "The System," which blesses him with the ability to level up after each fight he survives. As its title suggests, Solo Leveling is strongly focused on its singular main character, so central to telling the story is Sung Jinwoo's English Voice Actor, Aleks Le. Known for taking on prominent roles such as Demon Slayer’s Zenitsu, Tokyo Revengers’ Mikey, andVinland Saga's Thorfinn, Le's career similarly leveled up just as quickly as Jinwoo's rankings and life did.

This morning, I settled into writing a speculative piece about the upcoming series Skeleton Crew. After the recent trailer, the showrunners Jon Watts and Chris Ford were interviewed by StarWars.com to discuss the series in more detail. One part stood out to me, so I took some time to muse about it.
In the original article, as captured here by Caitlin from Skytalkers podcast, Ford discusses the homeworld of the kid protagonists. He says, "It's the story of kids who happen to live on what they think of as a boring planet-- it seems like the suburbs, and nothing ever happens. And one day they find an old spaceship and it blasts them off, out into the galaxy. They realize that no one's ever heard of their home planet."
wait this is so interesting...

Grant Gustin was the definitive Flash for a generation of DC fans when he starred in the CW’s The Flash. As part of the network’s Arrowverse group of shows, Gustin made his first appearance in Arrow, which served as a backdoor pilot for his own series. The show saw him tackle many antagonists as the fastest man alive.
While Eobard Thawne a.k.a Reverse Flash is Allen’s primary antagonist, season 2 of the series saw the appearance of Zoom, an evil speedster who is a serial killer before gaining abilities. Though physically performed by Teddy Sears, Tony Todd reportedly gave the character his menacing voice.

Jinx (Ella Purnell) got a new child companion in Arcane season 2, but the kid's origins and identity are still very mysterious. Almost all the characters in Arcane hate or tolerate Jinx, but her new friend seems to be the only person who actually likes her after what happened to Silco in Arcane. Such a unique character is sure to be important for the final two acts of Arcane, so it's important to get to know them.

Silco was one of the most important characters in Arcane, both to Jinx and to the entire undercity beneath Piltover. Out of the entire cast of Arcane, few characters have had more of a direct effect on the show than Silco. Prior to the events of Arcane season 1, Silco had considered himself Vander's brother, and the two led a doomed revolution against Piltover that ended with Vander betraying Silco. Silco continued his plan to secure the undercity's independence, this time going directly against Vander. Silco managed to kill his brother, and in the aftermath of their battle, he took Powder in as his own daughter.
Years later, Silco became a drug kingpin in the undercity and the main supplier of Shimmer, the substance that transformed its users into powerful monsters. With Jinx (formerly Powder) and Sevika, he corrupted the undercity even further and preyed upon the people Vander once protected.

While the trailers set up The Cut as another run-of-the-mill boxing rehabilitation story, director Sean Ellis had bigger ambitions. His film focuses less on fights and more on the rigorous preparations between rounds.
At its heart is Orlando Bloom’s gripping performance as a worn-out Irish boxer desperate for one final title shot. But to get in the ring, he must first wage a dangerous battle many have never seen—dropping over 30 pounds in just one week—to qualify for the match.
We’re introduced to Bloom’s character a decade after blowing a championship. Now running a small gym, an offer arises to replace an injured fighter. But he’s well over the weight limit. Matthew Perry’s Mother Reacts to Criminal Charges in His Death and Talks ‘Friends’ Star’s Final Days
Matthew Perry’s family is remembering the late Friends star and looking ahead to the criminal trial for two of the people charged in connection with his death.
In an interview that aired on the Today show on Monday, the one year anniversary of Perry’s death at the age of 54 from the acute effects of ketamine, Perry’s mother Suzanne Morrison, his stepfather Dateline correspondent Keith Morrison and three of his sisters — Caitlin, Emily and Madeline Morrison — looked back at Perry’s final days and what they’ll remember about their late family member.
Suzanne recalled feeling, shortly before Perry died, that “there was an inevitability to what was going to happen next to him, and he felt it very strongly.”
“He went through a period, interestingly enough, just before he died when he was showing me one of his new houses,” she said in the sit-down with NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie.
