Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from Game of Thrones fame is set to enter another medieval universe on-screen.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is set to play William the Conqueror in a new BBC and CBS Studios series titled King and Conquer. Coster-Waldau will play the historical figure William, Duke of Normandy, alongside James Norton, who will play Harold of Wessex. The show itself "is the story of a clash that defined the future of a country — and a continent — for a thousand years, the roots of which stretch back decades and extend out through a pair of interconnected family dynasties, struggling for power across two countries and a raging sea. Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy were two men destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066; two allies with no design on the British throne, who found themselves forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war for possession of its crown.

As the old adage goes, when one door closes, another opens. Gwyneth Paltrow can attest to that (for any kids in the audience, we’re referring to 1998 rom-com Sliding Doors). As can Amanda Collin.
The Danish actress was in South Africa shooting the second season of HBO Max’s Ridley Scott-produced sci-fi Raised By Wolves (she played the lead, the war android Mother) when she was first contacted about Nikolaj Arcel’s The Promised Land, screening in both Venice and Toronto. Arcel, as it happens, had written the screenplay to her first feature, 2016 crime thriller A Conspiracy of Faith. “I was in my trailer in my latex suit and Nikolaj called me up about this period drama. I was like, I’m in,” Collin explains.

I’ve been a fan of the horror genre ever since I was a child myself. Casper meets Wendy is still one of my favorite films to this day, and although it doesn’t really count as a horror film, it’s still a highly entertaining ghost vs. witches film. It’s interesting how the genre always uses children to generate fear in adults, but they can’t watch half the things they’re part of. Goosebumps is a great example of a good children’s horror that can be enjoyed by both children and adults alike. It’s got the thrill without all the gore and violence that the genre has come to be associated with today. Horror is a very creative and imaginative genre. There’s so much to be explored when it comes to instilling fear in people, but moreover, there’s so much that can be taught with these stories.

It is so rare to watch horror made for the adolescent age group because everything is all grown up these days. Even the content that is meant to be for teenagers comes across as adult content, so it’s a breath of fresh air when we see actual curious children in the beloved genre. While the likes of Casper are not to be found these days, most recently, the show Lockwood & Co. came close to this style of horror meant for the young. The Strange Case of the Claustrophobic Ghost is a great example of Mexican cinema today. It’s fun, it’s adorable, and it has the right amount of fantasy and fright for kids to be intrigued and afraid at the same time. Let’s quickly get into the story of the ghost in Nikolaj’s closet.

Angourie Rice is an expert at playing a teenager, even though she turned 22 this past January. Last year, the actor starred as the teenage version of Rebel Wilson in Netflix's "Senior Year," as well as a hilariously driven student in the irreverent comedy "Honor Society." Rice also appeared in the McU's Spider-Man movies as Betty Brant, and in 2021's "Mare of Easttown" she played Siobhan, Mare's stubborn daughter. Now, in Apple TV+ series "The Last Thing He Told Me," based on Laura Dave's bestselling novel of the same name, Rice stars as reeling high schooler Bailey opposite of Jennifer Garner, who plays her stepmom, Hannah, whom she can't connect with, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays her missing dad, Owen.
"What I really liked about Bailey is that she had such a clear idea of what she loved and what she wanted to do," Rice tells Popsugar. "I really...
