Two new clips from A Minecraft Movie have been released, giving fans a sneak peek at the upcoming adventure. The film is set to hit theaters on April 4, 2025.

A Minecraft Movie is a fantasy adventure comedy based on the popular video game Minecraft. It is directed by Jared Hess and features a screenplay by Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener, Gavin James, and Chris Galletta. The film stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Sebastian Hansen.

The movie follows four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks). They are pulled through a portal into the Minecraft world, called the Overworld.

It won’t be long before A Minecraft Movie builds a bridge to theaters, inviting fans of the action-adventure survival game to experience the wonders and imagination of the Overworld. According to the National Research Group, the movie could make as much as $58M-$60M+ in North America during its premiere weekend.

That’s not too shabby, and it’s excellent news for co-movie chiefs Mike DeLuca and Pam Abby, whose last few movies haven’t fared so well at the box office. To be fair, they had several duds dumped in their laps, but A Minecraft Movie is the first they’ve overseen one voxel brick at a time besides Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming vampire flick Sinners. A Minecraft movie took $150M to produce, so executives hope it has legs. If A Minecraft Movie does gangbusters at the box office, it could prompt Epic to invest in a proper Fortnite movie.

Your experience watching the final trailer for A Minecraft Movie will vary greatly, depending on the level of knowledge of the game. Warner Bros. Pictures has released the final trailer for A Minecraft Movie, which will open in theaters on April 4. Tickets are now on sale for the big-screen adaptation.

As you’ll see in the trailer, each character’s journey in the film reflects how Minecraft players all around the globe develop personal stories and build their universes within the game because, as you know, anything is possible in the Overworld!

Exclusive: Let it Rip! Mr Blockbuster Jerry Bruckheimer is producing a live-action movie with Paramount based on the popular toy franchise Beyblade.

Neil Widener and Gavin James are scripting the project, whose plot details are being kept under wraps.

The spinning top toys – a competitor of Pokemon – were originally developed by Japanese firm Takara and have been licensed by different toy companies including Hasbro. The battling tops concept inspired manga, anime and comics series, followed by localized international TV versions, all based around a Beyblade fighting tournament.

Early Beyblades included Ultimate Frostic Dranzer, Spin Dragoon and Saizo. The tops fight in arenas called Beystadiums, which have something of the colosseum about them with open sections in the walls and openings on the sides to launch into. Each Beyblade has a BeyLauncher, used to launch into battle.

Chernin Entertainment is getting into the superhero movie business and producing an adaptation of the popular “Hourman” comic book for Warner Bros. and DC Films, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.

Writing duo Gavin James and Neil Widener are writing the script.

Originally created by Ken Fitch and Bernard Baily in 1940, “Hourman” had three different versions of that character. The first one centered on chemist Rex Tyler. Tyler is a master chemist and adrenaline junkie who, as Hourman, is a thrill-seeking superhero with the ability to manifest super-strength… for one hour a day. A founding member of the Justice Society of America, Rex/Hourman struggles with balancing his life as a hero and father.

Exclusive: Amblin has hired Liberty Road and Battle Of Alcatraz scribes Neil Widener and Gavin James to take over screenplay duties on Micro, the movie adaptation of the final novel by Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton.

High-concept thriller novel Micro follows a group of graduate students lured to Hawaii to work for a mysterious biotech company — only to find themselves miniaturized and cast out into the rainforest, with nothing but their scientific expertise and wits to protect them.

As previously revealed by Deadline, Frank Marshall is producing and Sherri Crichton and Laurent Bouzereau of CrichtonSun are executive producers. Universal will distribute the movie which has been a passion project for Amblin’s Steven Spielberg. Darren Lemke was previously hired for the script, which doesn’t currently have a director attached.

The next film, which will likely see the return of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, Lizzy Caplan and Dave Franco, has been in development since a while before the release of the second. We've not heard anything about the mooted San Andreas 2 now since the start of 2016. But, some 17 months after the last update, its co-star - Alexandra Daddario - has held the door ajar a little for the project.

In a new interview with Collider, that's well worth a read, she was asked if she though the sequel would happen. Bottom line: it's likely, but depends on Dwayne Johnson's schedule.

"If I had to bet money on it, I’d say yes", she told the site, "but it’s still in the pre-production stage of putting it together. You never know with Dwayne Johnson’s schedule. He’s a very busy man. But that movie did very well, and it did very well overseas, so I can see them...

Dwayne Johnson has a truly insane shooting schedule lined up for 2016. He's filming season 2 of HBO's Ballers, then moves straight into Baywatch, Fast & Furious 8, and his live-action adaptation of the video game Rampage. But he's not resting on his laurels: this man likes to work, and THR reports that he's going to face off against more earthquakes in a sequel to San Andreas.

Johnson will reunite with director Brad Peyton and stars Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, and Paul Giamatti, while up-and-coming screenwriters Neil Widener and Gavin James will take over for Carlton Cuse in the script department. So what's the sequel going to be about?

Saddle up for another bumpy ride, folks. It looks like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is back for a sequel to the 2015 earthquake disaster flick San Andreas, THR reports. Despite the fact that the film was mostly panned by critics, it went on to make nearly $500 million worldwide at the box office, which more than made up for its $110 million budget.

New Line has also gone on to hire relatively new talent in Neil Widener and Gavin James to pen the script for the film. If you'll recall, yesterday it was announced that two of the three writers of the first film had been hired to write the Astro Boy flick, leaving a vacuum for this sequel.

Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario and Paul Giamatti are all expected to return to this sequel, though there has been no official confirmation as of this point.

In the wake of San Andreas' box office success for New Line Cinema last summer, the studio is moving forward with another Earth-shattering adventure. The Hollywood Reporter has word that the studio is putting together San Andreas 2, with original star Dwayne Johnson returning to reprise his role as Raymond Gaines, and Brad Peyton coming back to direct. The studio has hired Neil Widener and Gavin James to write the screenplay.

The original San Andreas followed Dwayne Johnson's Raymond Gaines, a helicopter rescue pilot who travels from Los Angeles to San Francisco with his estranged wife (Carla Gugino) to save their daughter (Alexandra Daddario) from a massive earthquake. Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario are expected to reprise their roles in the sequel, along with Paul Giamatti, who played a seismologist in the original movie. San Andreas earned $155.1 million domestically and $473.7 million worldwide at the box office during its theatrical run last summer.

Much of the team behind the first film, which grossed over $473 million worldwide last year and was the biggest hit of 2015 for Warner Bros. Pictures, are returning for the new one.

The sequel is said to expand the disaster locales to a global scale, focusing on the Ring of Fire which circles the Pacific Ocean with fault lines and volcanoes and is home to most of the world's earthquakes.

Brad Peyton will direct again, Beau Flynn will produce again, and actors Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario and Paul Giamatti are all expected to return alongside Johnson.

Film execs have voted for their favourite unproduced Us screenplays.

A script about Michael Jackson’s pet chimp Bubbles and a Moon-based roadtrip adventure are both on this year’s Black List of “most liked” unproduced screenplays in Hollywood.

The annual list, which was first published in 2005, surveys around 500 film executives on their favourite unmade scripts, with a typical response rate of 60%.

This year’s list features 81 screenplays, and was revealed in a series of Youtube videos hosted by the likes of Channing Tatum, Ava DuVernay and Lily James.

2015’s top screenplay is Isaac Adamson’s Bubbles, the story of the late pop star Michael Jackson’s life told through the narration of his pep chimp Bubbles.

Previous films on the list include Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, Tom Hooper’s The King’s Speech and Ben Affleck’s Argo, all of which went on to win best picture Oscars.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures is now in talks to pick up Verona, a new film inspired by the aforementioned classic tale of star-crossed lovers. The project is being based on a spec script written by Neil Widener and Gavin James, and Joe Roth (Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent) is attached to produce. But for some reason this just seems like it's just too much.

This certainly won't be the first time that Romeo and Juliet was taken in a new direction.
