Stewart Hopewell attained his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and
minored in Art and Art History at the College of William and Mary in
Williamsburg, Virginia. He then earned his Master of Fine Arts at the
Florida State University Conservatory of Motion Picture Arts in
Tallahassee, Florida. While there, he directed four films, including
one of the five thesis films, "3am" (2003). "3am" is a 22 minute
psychological horror shot on 35mm. It will be starting its festival
jaunt in the forth quarter of 2003. Also look out for "Misfortune,"
Stewart Hopewell's other film to be making the festival rounds. Shot on
super 16mm, "Misfortune" should be appearing at festivals in late 2003
as well. Hopewell is currently writing a feature length
screenplay.
