Lainey Wilson, Ella Langley and Riley Green were among the biggest winners at the 60th ACM Awards held at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas, Thursday night, with Chris Stapleton winning for male artist of the year and Wilson for female artist of the year and entertainer of the year.

Wilson, who won entertainer of the year last year, also took home the award for album of the year for Whirlwind, as well as artist-songwriter of the year.

The award for song of the year, presented by Lionel Richie, went to Cody Johnson for “Dirt Cheap,” while host Reba McEntire presented the award for single of the year to Langley and Green for “You Look Like You Love Me.” Old Dominion was named group of the year and Brooks & Dunn won the award for duo of the year.

Country superstars Lainey Wilson and Chris Stapleton won major trophies at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards on May 8. Wilson claimed Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Artist-Songwriter of the Year, while Stapleton won Male Artist of the Year.

A total of six inductees will be chosen: three from the songwriters category, and three from the performing songwriters category. They’ll be honored during a ceremony held in New York City in June 2025.

Artists become eligible for induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame 20 years after their first significant commercial release of a song.

Last year’s Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees included R.E.M., Steely Dan, Timbaland, and Dean Pitchford. During the induction ceremony, R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe, Mike Mills, Peter Buck, and Bill Berry reunited for their first performance together in 15 years.

The 39-year-old musician just notched his sixth No. 1 at country radio with “I Am Not Okay,” landing at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart and the Mediabase country chart.

People’s Choice Country...

The People’s Choice Country Awards, first held in 2023, will return for a second edition on NBC in September, with a list of nominees announced Thursday that includes some of the biggest names crossing over between country and the pop mainstream, including Beyoncé, Shaboozey, Zach Bryan, Kacey Musgraves, Morgan Wallen and Jelly Roll.

Bryan led the nominations with 19, followed by Beyoncé with 17 and Musgraves with 15. Notably, none of those three artists had a huge year at country radio, despite their outsized presences as mass-media superstars. That may be one way in which this awards show is looking to distinguish itself from two of its most obvious competitors, the country-music-industry-voted CMA Awards and ACM Awards.

Post Malone’s album is coming — and it has a name and release date. On Tuesday, the musician shared a photo of a billboard revealing that the name of his sixth album is F-1 Trillion, and it drops on Aug. 16.

With eight nods, Luke Combs is the most nominated artist at the 59th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The unveiling of this year’s nominations revealed that the musician is up for Song of the Year — presented to songwriters, publishers, and artists — for “Fast Car,” which also earns Tracy Chapman her first-ever ACM Awards nomination.

Trailing Combs with six nominations each are Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen. Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson each earned five nods, including Entertainer of the Year, while Jordan Davis and first-time nominee Jelly Roll racked up four.

This is Combs’s fifth nomination in a row for Entertainer of the Year, an award he has yet to win. It was a big night for Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards as they both took the most trophies.

Swift won in categories like Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Country Female Artist and Top Selling Song for “Anti-Hero.” Wallen also had a big night taking trophies for Top Male Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Country Artist, Top Country Touring Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album, just to name a few.

Swift entered the evening as the finalist (as the BMAs call their nominees) in the most categories — a staggering 20 nods. She took home a total of 10 awards, including the coveted trophy for top artist and for top female artist, as well as top Billboard 200 artist.

In her acceptance speech, Swift thanked her fans, saying “none of this happens without you,” adding: “I feel like the luckiest girl to have you in my corner and caring about the music I make.”

Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group has entered into a new co-financing pact with Domain Capital, a multi-year arrangement that will focus on bolstering the studio’s theatrical slate.

Last year, the Atlanta-based Domain announced a $700 million fund dedicated to entertainment and media. The co-financing arrangement is already in effect at Warner Bros, kicking off with participation in the company’s record-breaking hit “Barbie,” which has earned over $1.4 billion at the global box office.

The deal will extend to other WB releases this year, including “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” Timothée Chalamet’s “Wonka” and the Oprah Winfrey-produced movie musical “The Color Purple.”

Taylor Swift tops the list of 2023 Billboard Music Awards nominees, picking up 20 nominations. Swift is the most decorated female artist in history with 29 Billboard Music Awards wins, and will overtake Drake as the overall most decorated from Drake if she wins in five categories.

Taylor Swift’s nominations come in categories including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Hot 100 Producer, and Top Streaming Songs Artist. Swift’s also competing in the Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Artist, Top Country Artist, Top Country Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Country Album, Top Hot 100 Song, Top Streaming Song, Top Radio Song, Top Selling Song, and Top Billboard Global 200 Song categories.

The 2023 Billboard Music Awards nominees have been revealed!

Taylor Swift leads the nominees for the ceremony, which is set for Sunday, November 19.

Taylor is nominated in 20 categories, and is already the top female BBMAs recipient of all time with 29 wins. She could surpass Drake to become the top overall leader, who has won 34 BBMAs and is a finalist for 14 more this year.

Performances and awards will roll out across the BBMAs and Billboard social channels, as well as via BBMAs.watch on Sunday, November 19. Billboard Music Awards performers will be revealed daily on BBMAs social channels, starting Monday, November 6.

Nine new awards were unveiled this year, including top global K-pop artist, top K-pop tour, top K-pop album and top global K-pop song, as well as top Afrobeats artist and top Afrobeats song.

First-time finalist Zach Bryan is up for 13 awards with 14 entries, and Luke Combs scored 10 nods. A number of other artists also landed multiple nominations.

Country’s biggest stars gathered in Nashville Thursday night to kick off the first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards.

Little Big Town hosted the inaugural ceremony live from Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry, and it featured several fun performances from Kane Brown, Dan + Shay, Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, and more; plus, it saw country’s best accept the first time awards. Honorary trophies like the Country Music Icon Award and the Country Champion Award were also presented, to which they were awarded to Toby Keith and Wynonna Judd, respectively.

Amongst the epic night’s top nominees were Ballerini, Brown, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood and Morgan Wallen. There were even a few unexpected musicians, who dabbled into country music over the past year, including Pink, Ed Sheeran and Bebe Rexha, whom were up for some awards.

The event was hosted by Little Big Town live from the legendary Grande Ole Opry House on Thursday night (September 28) in Nashville, Tenn.

Brothers Osborne presented the Country Champion award to Wynonna Judd, and Blake Shelton presented the Country Icon award to Toby Keith.

The People’s Choice Country Awards made its debut on Thursday night at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. On this night at least, the people’s choice was Jelly Roll, aka Jason Bradley DeFord, who was a winner in four categories.

Hosted by Little Big Town, the show began its live broadcast airing simultaneously on NBC and Peacock.

The full list of nominees was revealed in August, with country superstars Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen dominating the nominations. Kane Brown and Jelly Roll were also top contenders, earning six nominations each.

The Country Music Icon Award was presented to Toby Keith by Blake Shelton.

Lainey Wilson was the first winner at the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards. The Louisiana native, who just headlined Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, in support of her album Bell Bottom Country, was named Female Artist of the Year.

Dan + Shay were named Group/Duo of 2023. “I didn’t know if we’d stand on stage again, let alone winning an award together,” Shay Mooney said, upon accepting with Dan Smyers. “We were those kids that grew up listening to Toby Keith and Wynonna and Little Big Town.

The inaugural People’s Choice Country Music Awards established itself as country’s hottest night, with a star-studded lineup of genre legends, including Blake Shelton, Wynonna Judd, Toby Keith and Little Big Town, among many others.

Hosted by Little Big Town in Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House, Jelly Roll swept the awards show as the most recognized artist of the night, scoring best male artist, new artist of 2023, song of the year for “Need a Favor” and collaboration song of 2023 for “Save Me” with Lainey Wilson.

Morgan Wallen came next with three awards, including the people’s artist of 2023, album of the year for “One Thing at a Time” and concert tour of the year. In addition to best collaboration song, Wilson also nabbed the award for female artist of the year, as well as a feature on music video of the year for Hardy’s “Wait in the Truck.

Chris Young released a new single, “Young Love & Saturday Nights,” incorporating the signature guitar lick from David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel.” The track was co-produced by Young with Corey Crowder and Chris DeStefano and written by Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure, and Josh Thompson. Bowie has been credited as an unlikely writer on the song, as well.

Dolly Parton is returning as ACM Awards host for the second straight year. She’ll be joined by Garth Brooks who’ll be making his Academy of Country Music Awards hosting debut.

This year’s awards show will take place at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The ACM Awards will air live on Prime Video on Thursday, May 11th.

The 58th Academy of Country Music Awards announced their nominations on Thursday, April 13, in advance of the awards that will take place on Thursday, May 11. A couple of relative newcomers lead this year’s lineup. Hardy is the top contender with seven nominations: Song of the Year, Song of the Year again (as songwriter for “Sand in My Boots”), Visual Media of the Year (“Wait in the Truck”), Artist-Songwriter of the Year, and Music Event of the Year (as artist and producer for “Wait in the Truck”). Perhaps surprisingly given that impressive haul, Hardy missed the cut for Male Artist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.

The pair are nominated together for their collab “Wait in the Truck” for Song of the Year, Visual Media of the Year, and Music Event of the Year.
