Dragon Ball Super Chapter 104 is officially out, confirming what fans have feared the most. The manga by the late Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou is back in publication after almost a year, but not for long.
On Feb. 19, 2025, Viz Media and Manga Plus made Dragon Ball Super Chapter 104 available for North American readers to read on their respective digital platforms. Chapter 104, "The Birth of Saiyaman X," reveals how Goten and Trunks became inspired to become superheroes like Gohan and his superhero persona, the Great Saiyaman. While fans are excited by the return of Dragon Ball Super, the latest release also contains disappointing news on its final page.

Big news, Dead Boy Detectives fans! While the ‘Sandman Universe’ show may not be returning for a second season, star Jayden Revri (Charles Rowland) is confirmed to appear in the final season of The Sandman, coming later this year!
In January, Netflix confirmed that The Sandman season 2 would be the end of the road for the fantasy series. We pretty much knew the show’s fate anyway, given that leaks from the set for the upcoming season showed that the team was filming scenes from the end of the comics. Hearing that the show was ending, while disappointing, wasn’t much of a surprise. The final season is confirmed to be released in 2025.
So far, we know that The Sandman season 2 will cover some of the comic’s most revered stories, including the ‘Season of Mists’ and ‘Brief Lives’ story arcs. It’ll also tell numerous beloved one-shot tales,...

DC has an interesting slate of movies and shows coming in 2025 to kick off a new period for the franchise!
2024 was, in many ways, the end of an era for DC Comics. The Dceu, with its tortured history, ended with the year prior with Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom sinking fast, so there weren't any new films from that franchise this year. The CW's Arroweverse also closed out after 12 years with Superman and Lois, while their animated film universe also ended with the Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy.
It's a new day for DC Comics on TV and film, with James Gunn and Peter Safran crafting a new DC Universe. There have been shifts as The Batman II is now delayed until 2026, and other projects are in the works. So DC's 2025 slate isn't as huge as Marvel's, but there are new notable entries coming, so here's a calendar of...

Humor has always been a crucial aspect of the Dragon Ball series, Akira Toriyama often inserted comedic gags through various characters. The Kais were strong but a significant source of light-heartedness in the series, especially King Kai, who showcased his strength and antics throughout the original series.

However, Toriyama gave him a car which really complemented his overall style but felt useless, given his situation. Even after all these years, fans question the purpose of King Kai’s car. But, it highlights the brilliance of the mangaka in one aspect that he always enjoyed.
King Kai’s Car Was Probably Just A Gag
Not just King Kai, but many characters in the series owned cars, and what often made fans question King Kai’s car specifically was its uselessness. In King Kai’s case, he even mentioned that he enjoyed driving.

By this point, Dragon Ball Super is almost as beloved as its predecessor series, and it had a long and successful run as an anime. However, Dragon Ball Super might never have existed if it weren't for the addition of two new characters in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods: Beerus and Whis.
Beerus and Whis were introduced for the movie, intending to give Goku an opponent who was literally on a divine level to match the new power he'd received. Beerus and Whis had some input from Toriyama as they were being created, turning God of Destruction Beerus from a truly evil figure into one that could be reasoned with, and who destroys mostly because it is his responsibility to do so. Toriyama seems to have been intrigued by Beerus and Whis conceptually from the start.

Dragon Ball characters, be they protagonists or antagonists, are known to be some of the strongest characters in the anime and manga universe. One such character is Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7. Although he is now a supporting character in Dragon Ball Super, he was introduced as one of the strongest villains Akira Toriyama’s universe has ever seen.
The Dragon Ball universe
There are very few characters in the anime and manga world who can be compared to the extremely dangerous strength of the God of Destruction. Even the likes of Goku and Vegeta together could not defeat the character. However, Jujutsu Kaisen fans have recently made a claim that might not be liked by Dragon Ball fans.
Fans of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen shared a post on X(Formerly Twitter) that pointed out that the antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna, might be stronger than Beerus.

Filming for The Sandman season two is set to resume on November 27, marking a significant development after a production pause in June 2023. Netflix is referring to the new installment as an expansion or a collection of additional episodes rather than 'Season 2,' suggesting a potential shift in the show's structure with potentially fewer episodes. The upcoming season will continue to adapt Neil Gaiman's comic volumes and introduce new characters, expanding the richly layered universe and promising a blend of genres, including Greek tragedy and cyberpunk.
The Sandman, Netflix's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's work, distinguishes itself in the dynamic world of television with its exceptional fusion of fantasy and drama. Following its first season's success and widespread praise, the series has sparked intense anticipation and speculation about its forthcoming chapters. The much-awaited update regarding season two has been unveiled by Neil Gaiman himself, offering fans a taste of the show's captivating future.

The extended edition of Battle of Gods allows for more humor and playful moments, showcasing Dragon Ball's comedic roots alongside its action-packed sequences. The extended cut of the film celebrates and includes more of Dragon Ball's supporting players, giving them a chance to shine and adding depth to the movie's overall narrative.
Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball is subject to many important milestones and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods was a pivotal turning point for the franchise. Originally released in 2013, Battle of Gods was the first Dragon Ball movie in over a decade and the precursor for the franchise’s latest installment, Dragon Ball Super. Though the brother of The Sandman's Dream abdicated his role in the Endless, there's a solid chance that he may one day return. Destruction abandoned his duties, but why did he do that, and what may ultimately bring him back?
While Morpheus is the Lord of Dreams, he is but one of seven siblings that make up the family of abstract concepts known as the Endless. The Endless are the oldest beings in existence and represent a number of principles in the world such as desire, despair and even delirium. While the family plays a large role in The Sandman, one member is shown having relieved himself of his duties and begun living a quiet life in retirement. Dream's younger brother Destruction is the living embodiment of both destruction and creation. But centuries before Dream found himself imprisoned by the mortals of Earth, Destruction was the first Endless to stop in his work.

On the heels of being picked up for more chapters, Neil Gaiman teases that The Sandman's new episodes could feature Delirium. Based on Gaiman's comics of the same name, the fantasy drama series centers on Tom Sturridge's titular character as he escapes a century-long confinement and embarks on a journey to restore his Kingdom of the Dreaming and put a stop to a rogue nightmare wreaking havoc on the living. Developed by Gaiman, David S. Goyer and Allan Heinberg, The Sandman has scored widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike for its faithfulness to the comics, the performances from its cast, and its ambitious worldbuilding and production values.
