Warning: Contains Potential Spoilers for Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #6!
While DC’s Elseworlds are famous for offering bold reimaginings of iconic heroes, the Dark Knights of Steel universe takes it a step further by completely flipping the script on one Justice League hero’s powers—granting them an ability that is the exact opposite of their typical canon portrayal. This isn’t just a radical departure for the hero; it also marks their most overpowered upgrade in any continuity.
By intertwining his powers and motives with humanity, the series shifts the character’s focus away from plants—an especially bold choice...

Now, however, the ice-cold Gotham rogue has revealed a chilling feat so brutal it officially surpasses the Joker’s body count, cementing his place in infamy.
Jay Kristoff, Tirso Cons, and Wes Abbott’s high-fantasy, Deathstroke-centric Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter series comes to its conclusion in issue #6, ending with an epic showdown between Long-Sword Slade Wilson and Sorcerer Victor Fries. 1974 remains a banner year for horror movies. This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Black Christmas, as well as smaller films like Abby, The Perfume of the Lady in Black, and Sugar Hill. Buried in that year’s releases, Frightmare stands as a unique relic, a gloriously bloody proto-slasher transmitting a macabre tale about cannibalism. Once described as a “morally repellent British horror film, without an ounce of humour” by The Times critic Philip French, the Pete Walker-directed cult classic carries the essence of 1963’s Blood Feast with its own curiously deranged skin. With the holidays in full swing, it’s time to give thanks for one of the most underrated ‘70s slashers with more going for it than meets the eye.
