Jerry Arlie Ball was born in Alabama to Mark (deceased) and Jackie (Jackson) Ball. He was educated in local schools, graduating from Tremper High School in 1975. He went into serve in the U.S. Army before completing high school. He is a Vietnam Era veteran. Later in life Jerry attended both Gateway Technical College and Parkside University. Graduating with a bachelor's degree from Parkside is 1993.

He married Joanne LeRose-Ball, who later preceded him in death.

Jerry spent time teaching English at Gateway Technical College in Elkorn, WI, as well as various employment throughout the years. He was last employed as a caregiver to his wife Joanne, until her death. Jerry had a love of theatrics, having spent some time performing and doing stage make up with the Kenosha Lakeside Players. Likewise, Jerry enjoyed the horror genre combining both loves to become a local television host with Kenosha Community Media as "Uncle Wolfman" on his show Nightmare Cinema. Jerry had many other hobbies including camping and fishing, as well as spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his two children, Jessica Ball of Racine, and Joshua Ball of Portland, OR; stepdaughter, Danielle (Boubonis) Friedrich of Racine; sister, Markena (David) Lanska of West Bend; sister, Sonja (Gary) Koble; mother, Jackie (Jackson) Ball; his grandchildren Reina Furman, Kayden Friedrich, Aryelle Brito, and MaKhenna Collier; as well as many other family and friends, too numerous to be named.

In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by, his brother, Mark Ball.
